    2008 Tournament of Arms information and registration thread

    Okay, so, I know this isn't exactly Tuesday, but it's been a hectic week, between a remodel at the store, the MGS4 midnight launch, and then moving to a new store out in the middle of the boondocks. I apologize.

    So, here's what we're going to do.

    This year's tournament takes place in modern-day Rome. If your character does not fit into a modern setting, choose one who does, or tweak it so that it fits. Or make a new one. That works too. The tournament will take place in the Coliseum, as it is in present standards -- old, worn out, and falling apart (WITH ONE EXCEPTION - fill the ground with dirt, a la Gladiator. Present-day conditions leave it without a floor). There will be no crowds, only judges and the other participants. If you need motivation for fighting, it's for honor and pride. Let's include television crews as well, so the fights may be viewed by fans worldwide.

    This is a fantastical modern setting, so magic is allowed. Follow the standard RPB guidelines to make this fit -- yes, this means minor curative magic is allowed! That's a tournament first.

    I would prefer if all characters were of earthly origin.



    Now, I'll have the registration up for a week. You'll have until roughly midnight on the night of the 21st (or morning of the 22nd, however you choose to look at it) to get your information posted. If there are any issues with one of your characters, I will stay up to date with this thread and pass along messages so that proper tweaks may be made. Remember, god-like characters are not allowed for tournaments.

    I will accept eight entrants into this competition.

    Remember, this is a writing contest, so complete sentences and proper word usage are important. We're not going to be grammar nazis; check out the stickied thread regarding judging for specific details. If your text is illegible, you will be denied.

    I have a couple of judges in mind; I need to contact some people and see who's interested this time around. I will be picking from the prior pools of judges, so please do not spam up this thread asking to be a judge. I'm looking at guys like Psiko, Psychosyd, Shan'do Spike, and a couple of others, assuming none of them want to participate. There will, of course, be a panel of three judges, with myself being one of them.



    I was going to supply a character template, but it's easier if you just write out the information as you usually would. I don't need a complete backstory, but some brief bio information along with the usual weapon and magic list would be good. Be sure to describe your character's physical qualities as well.

    Appearance: Light brown hair down to her mid-back. Glistening green eyes that change to red when she becomes overcome with hunger. In her hungered state, her personality changes to be seductive and manipulative when she normally is a fun-loving girl that just likes to be with her friends. Her form slightly changes as well. Her bust slightly increases, as well as her hips.

    Attire: From the bottom up, she wears 7” black platform heels and red thigh-high stockings with a garter belt. She prefers boy shorts or thongs and wears either a pair of shorts or skirts that are above the knee. On special occasions, she does wear dresses; which are usually tight. She wears matching bras for the colors of boy shorts or thongs she wears, and her bras usually are the kind that have front clasps and when she does not wear bras, she wears lace-up corset tops instead. She also has a very long silver chain wrapped around her waist.

    Weaponry: Her tail extends like a rope that she uses to aide her in maneuvering away from particularly dangerous attacks. She also carries a suitcase that is a pocket dimension full of many weapons and goodies. Her main weapon is a whip. She can use every weapon imaginable, but her skills of those weapons reflect the amount of time she uses said weapons. The chain hanging off her waist is also a weapon she uses to restrain her opponent. She has various techniques for every weapon in her stock. Her second best weapon is a katana hidden inside of a halbred. Various goodies include sake, explosives, Molotov cocktails, books, manga, Duel Monster cards and a Duel Disk, handcuffs, kerosene, angel dust, speed, and steroids. She has a habit of saying “Tamaya~” when she releases Molotov Cocktails.

    Racial Techniques:

    Diminishing Kiss – She kisses the enemy and drains their very life force away from them. Something she can do at will when not in her hungered state.

    Charm – She releases pheromones to charm a guy or girl to do what she wants. Or to distract them, even.

    Wrath of the Succubi - She grows claws and her body flickers and vanishes. She cannot see where she attacks, so this particular technique is dangerous as it cannot distinguish from friend or foe.

    (Passive) Ashes of the Phoenix – When she dies, her body becomes ash, and after several hours, she is reborn from the ashes in a lolita form. After a few days, she turns back to normal.

    Weapon Techniques:
    Whip
    Broken Toy – She ensnares her whip around the enemy and brings them toward her. Only to be flung away like a broken toy.

    Nauseating Kiss – She wraps her whip around the enemy's waist and brings them to her. She kisses their cheek before she sends them for a sickening spin.

    Twist of Pain – Latches her whip onto her opponent and spins as fast as a tornado and then launches them high into the air, latches onto them once again and sends them crashing down onto the earth.

    Katana-Halberd
    Blade of Madness – Ties her chain to the hilt of her katana and spins it around like a maniac. Can also launch it as a pseudo projectile.

    Dual Wielding - Withdraws her katana from the halbred and reattaches the hilt to the halbred, making a make-shift double edge weapon as a result.

    (More to come as she acquires higher skill with each weapon.)

    Biography: Was recently accepted into the Masters for her diverse knowledge in weaponry and unique personality. She learned the techniques for her Katana-Halberd from her elder brother who had passed away permanently. She keeps an urn with his ashes inside of her pocket dimension briefcase. She has a special tarot card with his picture on it that she uses to summon his spirit to aid her if she is injured or unable to fight back for any other reason.

    Appearance: She has jet black hair that is tied back in two ponytails. The remainder of her hair that isn't tied back hangs over her face. Physicaly coming out of her forearms are two long peices of blue cloth like strips. They are actually part of her body. She wears a shortend version of a Kimono; instead of having a long dress it is shortend like a miniskirt. The colour of this Kimono is completly white except for a few streaks of purple down the back and across her breasts. She has mid-shin high boots that are made of silk and leather. Around her neck she wears a miniture pundulam on a chain and around her right hand is an leaf iron glove sealed onto her hand.

    Weaponry: She has a small curved dagger that has many runes on it. she controlls the shikigami scrolls, which are spirits animated on a pice of paper by japanese runes. She also has a bottle of sake tied around her waist. Coming out of the hand with the iron casing is a ligh weight chain that has small barbs on each rung.

    Racial Techniques:

    The shikigami: She has the ability to controll the spirits on the peice of paper.

    The Ikelileru meditation defences: The Ikelileru have a technique of meditaing the mind and body as if they were two different matter. This allows her to mediatte ultimately before battle. Any mind controlling efects will be weakend due to the renforceing of the mind. Her body is also refreshed as if it had been recoupertaing for a year.

    Weapon Techniques:

    The shikigami

    Short-range teleprtation - With these scrolls she can teleport short distances up to nine meters.

    Meiyo (honour) - This creates a temporay circle of grenn flames around her knocking and burning anyone in range, Lasts for ten secconds.

    Chikara (power) - Sends a green firey beam in one direrction.

    Yakusoku (promise) - Used only as a counter attack, Dodges attack and teleports her into the air directly above and creates a firey explosion beneath her where the enemy is or was.

    yume (dream) - refreshes the body and heals minor cuts.

    Kanzen (perfect) - Teleports into air just like Yakusoku but shoots four massive explosions in any random direction from her hand.

    (all green fire looks a lot like the fuel rod cannon projectiles from the halo series)

    The dagger

    Throw and return - Launches dagger at the enemy but it automaticly seeks back to her

    The shikigami and sake

    Gekido (Wrath)/Book of doom - She spits sake over the scrolls and launches many of them into the air forming a giant explosion

    The Chain

    Spiked Barbs - The barbs have a concotion of many differnet herbs that with increase the rate of fatigue and amplifies and acelerates the symptoms.

    (she uses a lot of hand to hand CQC with her feet)

    Background

    She first learn't to fight when her mother and father were killed by a gang ruleing her home town. She was forced onto the streets and she found herself living in a temple. It was here that she learnt about the holy scrolls. the temple also gave her an excelent education so her mind is sharp. She hunted down the gang that killed her family for revenge but know she works as mercinary or for her heart. Her hand is encased in leaf iron because her boyfriend was sparring with her and he knocked over a peice of equipment which crushed her hand. She is Dangerous.

    Appearance: Aziel is pretty much the pinnacle of Korxian beings. His height is above average within the Korxian ranks and his highly muscular body with plenty of scars is intimidating in every sense of the word. His face looks human, his eyes with oval-shaped pupils glow a silver color, his ears are large and wolf-like, and he has short silver fur with a clean shine to it, making him a highly sought after bachelor among Korxian women, though to any other race he’d look like a hulking human, except with fur. Besides all that, he only wears the thick brown leather pants, black boots, his sheathed Caliburn sword, and his mace connected to the right side of his belt.

    Personality: Despite being a large fellow, Aziel is not some violent brute who is all about pride and honor. Nor is he some pacifist giant looking to protect the smaller things in life. Aziel’s more of a light-hearted bloke who likes teasing people to give them a hard time. It is how his sense of humor works as he jokes around quite a bit. His philosophy pretty much is a “Hope for the best, expect the worse” as he’s also someone who has been through many wars and battles.

    Equipment

    Caliburn

    Measurements
    • Full Length: 72 inches
    • Blade Length: 55 inches
    • Handle Length: 17 inches


    Caliburn is a unique sword despite being rather large, as it’s not just made from one blade, but four. To be more exact, it has four blades positioned like the four cardinal directions, each blade about five inches wide, and three and four quarters of an inch thick with a sharp tip that increases the overall length by five inches. The sword itself is held by a large round guard a little over ten inches wide, wrapped in black leather, and has a square pummel on the end. What makes it interesting is how each of the four blades has its own characteristic.

    The north blade has a cruel saw-like edge, the west blade is flat and blunt, the south blade has thousands of straight teeth, and the east blade is the only normal sharp-edged blade of them all.

    Now, there’s one other thing about Caliburn and that’s its ability to open wide like a claw by protracting the blades outward like scissors and then retracting into its original shape. A trigger along the handle opens the blades as wide as three feet and then snaps back into a sword once the trigger is released. I should also note that when protracted the edges on the insides of each blade are blunt and will crush almost anything if trapped within their jaws.

    Balmung is Aziel’s mace with special attributes. First, there are spikes inside the mace that protract outward on his command. Second, the mace can be fired from pulling a trigger on the handle with a distance of four feet. Third, once the mace has been fired, it becomes a flail mace. That’s pretty much how the weapon works, though there is some metal wire that can extend the reach of the chain by holding onto the trigger. Lastly, the handle is wrapped within a shock-absorbent material.

    Accessories

    Sword sheathe, Mace sheathe, and Belt

    A round black leather sheathe holds Caliburn in place whiled strapped diagonally across his chest. The belt holds Balmung on his right hip.

    Pendant

    A shield-shaped pendant with a rune insignia written on its face, this accessory is for magical protection. It’s not very powerful, but it decreases the strength of any magical spell near Aziel within a two-foot radius. It does not destroy the spell in any way, rather numbing it so if Aziel is struck the blow won’t be as hard. It does shield him from mind-altering magics or attacks, however, but still not powerful enough to stop every single thing.

    The pendant is tailored onto the strap of Caliburn’s sheathe out on Aziel’s chest.

    Shoulder Strap Bag

    A big simple bag that holds everyday things he needs when traveling, it sits on his left hip.

    Abilities

    Korxian Abilities

    Shape shifting

    Korxians are well known for being shape shifters with three specific forms. Each form gives different advantages, though strength and speed are normally the same no matter what form.

    • Form 1: Normal Korxian form
    • Form 2: Face loses nose and mouth, back adds two bone-like wings, legs increase in length creating longer feet.
    • Form 3: Normal Korxian body decreases in size from 7’4” to 6’2”, decreasing strength by 30% and increasing speed by 30%. This form can only last for thirty minutes. Increases fatigue after time limit is up and body returns to normal.


    Druid Magic

    Korxians are a people of the land so nature is apart of their lives. As such, they draw their magic from the elements of nature around them to do many things. For Aziel, since he was born with a birthmark shaped as the runic symbol of earth on his chest, he has a strong connection to that element in particularly. Along with that, since his father was born with the runic symbol of wind, he has a decent connection with that element as well.

    With wind magic, he can glide around about two meters off the ground while also increasing his own speed—to an extent. Using earth, Aziel can create earth-like armor (e.g. rock, dirt, clay, etc. etc...) and may cover a wound in a earthly material (e.g. dirt) to heal minor wounds. He can travel through the ground as well for a various amounts of time.

    In the end, there is a limit on how much magic a Korxian may use. Too much and it absorbs their physical strength.

    Physical Capabilities/Measurements

    • Weight Lifting: 2000 lbs. (1 ton)
    • Agility: Masterful. Many years on the battlefield taught him how to be evasive and mobile.
    • Speed: W/O Wind Magic, 5.8 seconds in 40 meter dash on avg. With Wind magic,

    • Reach: 48 inches

    Biography

    Aziel is the oldest of three siblings and was born on a military camp. There he was obviously taught and trained by his father, one of the generals, on how to use strategy and, of course, how to fight. Over the years he grew up, he eventually found himself fighting within wars on not only his own country, but in others under his father's regiment until he was about 28. Afterwards, he quit the military life to get out of the bloody warfare on a spiritual journey, a year later he joined a Korxian temple where he learned of religion.

    Many years passed before he came back into the public world, finding himself joining in more wars, except this time he had found his justification for what he did. In modern times, he continues to fight for a more logical justice rather than some hero’s sense of justice.

    Toph and Raider, if you could add the same, that would be appreciated. Again, I don't want your character's life's story or anything like that, but a quick little blurb like Vicious supplied would be nice.

    In other news, if you newer guys haven't read the announcement atop the TOA forum regarding the TOA rules, I suggest you do. Here's an excerpt from that announcement:
    TOA Rules
    In most cases, the rules will follow the regular RPB rules. Some TOA tournaments may have special rules that you should take note of both before signing up as well as during the tournament. For the brief version of the RPB rules as they apply to the TOA, continue reading.

    (1) - No godmodding. It's all explained in the FAQ above.
    (2) - Please DO NOT edit your posts. There is a fifteen minute grace period for typo editing and such, but you may not edit your posts otherwise. Why? Because then you risk screwing up your opponent if s/he has already started writing. That, and since this is a tournament, after all, all submissions should be in their final form.
    (3) - There is NO CURATIVE MAGIC at all whatsoever in the Tournament of Arms. I don't care if your character is a Paladin. That's awesome. Use your basic cure spells in regular RPBs, but leave them at home for the TOA.
    (4) - There will be no pre-warnings for breaking the rules. As you can see, there really aren't too many rules, so it's not like you can miss them. Slip up one time too many, and it may land you a warning.
    Keep in mind that, FOR THIS TOURNAMENT ONLY, rule three is to be ignored, and will follow standard RPB rules. Light curative magics only (or none at all, if you prefer).

    Yes, actually, that fits right in with the idea of minor curative magic. I think it's a good ability, especially if it leaves your character open for some sort of vulnerability during its use. Although you only supply a brief description of the ability, it's vaguely reminiscent of some of the new Cleric abilities in 4th edition D&D. I like it. ^^

    In that same regard, Firaga, we need to talk. Your character is WAY too powerful. Find some things to cut or alter on your own, and I'll check back with the profile to see what you end up with. We can discuss specifics via PM as well. Cool?

    Apperence: He has short silver hair that goes down to his neck with red eyes and no puples. His skin is taned, he has silver eyebrows. and he wears black armor with five gold symbols one on each leg and arm and one on the back of his neck. His sword is blue with with a red line going up the middle and the handle of his sword has a dark symbol on it to and it acts as a magnet so hs sword can stick to his back going straight down.

    As the Demon of the Abyss: He turs jet black and he grows wings and his sword turns into raw power.

    Biography: When Ziro was five he started his training to become a soilder. A few months later the King sent his most trusted general to get Ziro. When Ziro saw the King the King told Ziro that his father was dead. When he went to see his fathers dead body all he found was black armor when he put it on could not take it off. The armor told him were to find the Sword from the Abyss. It told him to go to the kings throne and under the throne would be the sword but first he had to kill a Spirite with the claws of the Damned. Ever since than he has ros quickly in his ranks and now is a top Dark Knight.

    Spells: As human
    Earth Drain: This spell allows Ziro to drain the energy from the earth to increase his speed and strength.
    Sanctum: this is used when Ziro dies during a battle. In the first post of his next battle he is revived.
    Firaga:This spell is used to send a huge ball of inferno at the enemy with great speed and power.
    Cure: This spell is used to heal minor cuts and scratches.

    As the Demon of the Abyss:
    Kiss of Death: This allows Ziro to drain life force from his ennemy and give it to an ally.
    Reunite: This is when the five symbols of darkness appeare on his chest. It makes a black hole to engulf his enemys and kill them.
    Dark Ball: This spell makes a dark ball tha shoots at the enemy with great speed and great power.

    Abiliys: When he cuts an enemy he like the blood off his sword and becomes the Demon of the Abyss and is speed and his strength is increased.

    Weaponary: As human
    Sword from the Abyss: This is Ziros main weapon and is found on his back.
    Attack Power: 85
    Claws of the Damned: He only used this weapon once and it is found in the hand part of his armor.
    Attack Power: 100

    As the Demon from the Abyss:
    Claws of the lost:these come out of his hands and feet.

    Hair: Thick Brown hair. Messy. No longer than the base of his neck
    Skin tone: Pale
    Appearance: Solstafir wears a sort of cape much like that of Anglican royalty. The top around the shoulders is made of black wolf pelt with streaks of white fur. It then flows down into crimson silk that covers him entirely down to his ankles. The base of this is trimmed with gold lace in floral patterns. His armour underneath is in traditional samurai fashion but made from an unknown black metal. The armour itself is also decorated with patterns of trees and petals that are emphasised with red trimmings. Two sword handles are also visible on his back sticking out from the cape just behind his head. Solstafir’s boots are just stitched, weathered leather around his feet but keep a definite shape due to the metal plating they were put on.

    Solstafir’s face looks rough due to the grey stubble of a beard and deep lines under his eyes. His eyes alone show tiredness, age and wisdom it opposition to how young he should be. The only over notable features are the scar patterns across his chest and arms as well as the tattoo’s on his shoulder blades of crossed swords with wings for hilts (although these can’t been seen through his clothing).

    Bio: Born second son of Kol’ata, Solstafir was named Guardian of the Altar from birth. The villagers and priests took the marking on his back as a sign from the God’s and so raised him a long the path of the warrior and of royalty. All would have seemed normal until he turned 16 and was forced to under go the ritual of the ancients. The potent rite filled him with knowledge and the secrets of his birth. But the power was not contained during the ceremony. In a climatic explosion that levelled the village, the true nature of the God’s was shown through him as the gift turned all but him to dust. Millennia have past since his leaving yet still he looks not a day older than the age he chose to stay at. Such was his will and the will of his fickle Gods. And so it was by their will, he entered this tournament.

    Weapons: Truth and Deceit – These two long-swords are the ones situated on Solstafir’s back. Both were fashioned by himself whilst with his original town. Both blades look almost identical with the exception of certain details. What is the same in both blades is that a diamond shaped emerald is embedded in both swords rain guard Truth is a metallic silver blade with six-pointed star cross-guard. At each point of the star hangs a white silk feather that extends down the length of the hilt. The blade itself crackles with white lightning when drawn and it strengthens over the time it is out of its scabbard.

    Deceit is instead of silver, black. Its cross-guard is made up of arcing spikes that almost fold into each other. The spikes are in a clockwise patter with barely few millimetres separating each one although the space becomes clearer as they extend out. A small tassel hangs from the pommel with numerous black feather attached to the end. The blade looks clean cutting, however all up its edges are some spikes that can’t be seen unless up close. When drawn, the sword hums silently and the sound intensifies as swung before settling once more.

    Abilities

    Truth techniques: Heaven’s Roar – The raging lightning builds up until at an immense level. With a deafen sound the bolts fire, searing and destroying all in there path.

    Dawn – From the emerald itself, embedded in the blade, a white light is create as bright as the stars themselves. Unless protected or used to such levels of light, fighters and personal near are blinded by its radiance. When directed though, the light can also burn flesh with ease.

    Deceit techniques: Abyssal Flames – With a mere flick of the blade, black flames sprout forth, burning all in there path. Like the flames of hell itself, they persist and refuse to burn out unless their master wishes it.

    Demon’s hand – Shadows starts to engulf the blade, as the humming from it grows louder. The darkness takes shape and a multitude of tendrils protrude. When given a target they whip, jab and grasp at it until the magicks fade or their target is dead.

    Twilight – In opposition to Dawn, the emerald in deceit starts to secrete a dense black mist that blocks out all but the brightest of lights.

    Transformation – Curse of the forgotten God’s: When in times of dire need, Solstafir can call upon the powers that he was cursed to bare. Dawn and Twilight cast without thought as the mixture of absolute darkness and light hide the change. The spells fade and emerges Solstafir in his true form. This process takes up a post to use.

    Appearance:Here. Changes should be noted that the feathers are white, Scaled wings black. Other than that, all other phyiscal descriptions have been carried over from the above (This doesn't include Hair nor previous clothing i,e armour).

    Weapon: Paradox – Neither Good nor Evil, Solstafir’s form shows the true neutral nature of his god’s but incorporating both. This itself is reflected in more form and weapon. Paradox is simply Truth and Deceit merged as one double edged sword, joined at the pommel by a large emerald.

    Abilities: All abilities for his previous human form are carried over through the transformation but are enhanced in strength due to the increase in magick energies his body now contains. Apart from this, he also gains three new abilities.

    Reign of Blades: The feathers on Solstafir’s wings aren’t like that of any other creature known. They’re made of an organic smart alloy that sharpens when propelled at high speeds. As a result, Solstafir can hurl these feathers by whipping his wings towards an opponent, sending numerous of these blade like projectiles.

    Shattered Stone: An orb of pulsing energy forms in Solstafir’s empty hand. Power surges and repels from it as emerald stones are formed in spiked columns. The forming takes mere seconds as the stones fire themselves out from their containment, puncturing all in their path.

    Radiating Light, Encompassing Darkness: By surging the entirty of his magicks into Paradox, Solstafir can cause the blades to shatter into dust, leaving the three emeralds behind. From each is summoned a different power: Light, Darkness and Neutral. As the pure energies of light and darkness fire forth, the neutral forces them to merge into a rotating vortex of raw power.

    This plate armor has been passed down through many generations of tough warriors. Entity is the first female to have aquired such fine protection...

    Accessories:

    Blade Sheath, made from Goblin metal and leather. It has a few red jewels on each. They strap around the back of the user.

    Gun Holster, same as above

    Flask, which is always full of the finest wine. Its magical, and fills its self...

    Abilities:

    Flight Can't not fly high, but this is more of a jump - can onlt remain air-bourn for 3.6secs. Handy for dodging attacks and landing new ones on apponants.

    Immitation Can make up to 100 copies of herself to confuse enemies...

    LIMIT BREAK: Clash of the Heavens Lightening is thrown at my opponent from all angles as the heavens (clouds) crash and smash together. The light from the charges causes the opponent to become Blind for 60secs.

    Elemental Magic

    Lightening and Water are strong when used together - not to be messed with... First, Entity attacks with Water to drench enemy, then Lightening to cause extra damage.

    She absorbs both Lightening and Water attacks, and can often infuse these powers into her weapons.

    Bio:Entity has her own army made from many different creatures with different abilities. She trusts them all, and treats them all well. She will not eat if they provide her with food, knowing that they have nothing to eat.

    Her parents, who were poor and could not look after a baby took their lives, and took Entity's with them. However, Entity was found by a lycan days later, a few mm's from death. She was made a lycan at the age of 16, after asking her rescuer, Rinth, to pass her powers on to her, so that she may continue to serve her after death. So far, she has been loyal to her word.

    Entity has travelled many places, and has stolen many lands from those who don't treat their people well. However, she didn't keep these lands, and gave them to the Generals in her army, who are trained to look after their people well. She has no desire to settle with her own land until the world is free from unworthy leaders...

    Story:

    Shortly after Monticello was born, his parents were killed, single sleak slices across both of their throats, and a symbol engraved into their hearts.

    Monticello was raised in a regular christian orphanage until the age of 5 when he was taken given away to a man who's name to this day is not known. The earliest and fondest memory he has of this man is as they were reaching the place that would be his whole life for the next 15 years. He was telling Monticello about the place, and why he was here, But Monticello vaguely remembers these words.
    Monticello amoung 19 other children were brought here, with one agenda only, to become top class mercenries and assassins, they were taught various types of Martial Arts, along with training in various weaponary and the art of being a Genroku(silent butterfly)which consists of being able to blend in with the shadows, how to move swiftly and silently.

    After a 14 years of grueling training and harsh living conditions, Monticello was seen by the leaders as the best student they have, even more deadly and precise as the older assassins they have today. Monticello was grown to be quiet and very precise in going about his actions.
    When he turned 20 years old, he was given the choice to leave the institution, become a personal assassin and slave of the Leaders. Or to become a fellow teacher of the students. Monticello quickly chose to leave this hell, and become a part of another. As he walked through the wrought iron gates, walking away from one hell, into another. The wind bellowing past his ears, it carried a yell of the Leaders;

    "When we need you, hear the ravens call..."

    Appearence & Personality:

    Monticello is not a very large man, he relys on agility more then strength, he has long slender arms and legs. He has brown hair which parts in the middle and runs along the sides of his face. His eyes are of a deep blue, turning green on the odd occasion.
    Monticello wears a grey wrabe around coat which stops at his waist, and he wears straight suit like pants.
    underneath the clothing is a light mesh cloth, very light and felxible, but able to withstand a blow. The most noticable feature he has is his gloves, the left one being black, and the right being white, both with inscriptions on them.
    Monticello is a very calm individual, keeping to him self most of times, he only speaks when it is a convienient time, and he speak slowly and carefully choosing whis words, are high important.

    Weapons:

    - 2 short end modified grass scythes, more blade then handle, with a handle sliding out the sides, making Monticello be able to spin them at high speeds.
    - 2 Sai's for when he cant get to his scythes, or if it is a particularly close ranged battle.
    - And a secret daggers That slide out of his sleeves resting on the tops of his hands, used for times when he has notheing left.

    Accessories:

    A small pouch filled with small marble like balls, each colour signifying a different action.
    Green explodes and sprays a liquid in all directions, used for distractions and a possible escape route.
    Blue is a fog bomb, creating a haze, as another route of escape.
    And Black are regular marbles, could come in handy.

    Magic: Has the element of fire behind him, he can create short bursts of fire, as well as protective wall around him.


    Defencive tactics:

    Monticello has the ability to blend in with surroundings, become alomost invisible for upwards of 4 minutes due to a device given to him by the Leaders.

    General Information:

    Monticello walks silently.
    He has excellent tracking skills.
    Is speed in combat and with weapons is astounding.
    Has very good climbing abilities.
    Is not very strong.

    Weapons: I'll put a very rough picture made via Paint lol
    Appearance. He wears a large black cloak, and black leather armor underneath. His hairstyle is black spikes, going backwards to his back, with red tips. Both blades are pitch black, and have red markings on them that seem to glow.

    Style of Battle: My main changes in Dragoth are speed, he has become much faster and he uses two blades in a very quick manner instead of one. He will use magic less, as his control of fire will not be used as much.

    Skills: Dragoth has two skills, His first is simple. He rushes the opponent in a quick burst of speed, which is a good opening to strike.
    His second is his control of the element fire, which will not be used as much as I did before.

    Bio:

    Fire raced across the sky, the ground was broken up with molten rock. In the climax of this great battle, Dragoth flicked Akilroth in the air, caught it and charged at his opponent. He had many small injuries, but he was about to end it all at this very moment. One heavy boot in front of the other, in a very powerful battle charge. He lept foreward, for more momentum as he was only feet from his opponent. The man, who was just turning, took his pure white blade and met his with Akilroth.

    Dragoth closed his eyes for a split second...All was won.

    Dragoth felt something touch his body, now the whole thing was trembling. He opened his eyes, and saw blood to his right, he followed the blood with his eyes, and soon enough he saw it. A large slash was made across his chest. "Akilroth, AKILROTH where are you! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" He yelled. The man approached Dragoth, still trembling from the shock to his body. "Akilroth! What happened!" He looked to the left, and again to the right, and finally down to his right hand. It had been cut, but not badly. Under his hand was the ruins of Akilroth, the blade of fire. Shards of this blade stuck in the ground, while the handle and parts of the bottom of the blade were all that were left.

    All was becoming a blurr, so much blood was leaving him, Dragoth had never felt such a horrible sensation in all his life. He soon felt anger, this man would not defeat him. He wouldnt allow it! He picked up the remains of Akilroth, picked up his mangled body, and thrust the worthless blade in the man's heart. Seeing the man look up at him, the man only muttered, "I've released a daemon" as he fell to the ground. Dragoth spun around, his anger was rising as he felt more and more pain. Soon the earth under him exploded, and the firey rock seemed to explode all around him. Dragoth smiled, as he fell into the earth.

    Many days, or even years may have went by. Dragoth slept in the comfort of fire, and soon he recovered from his injuries. Finally after so much time asleep, Dragoth found some way to rise from the ground. His Akilroth had been replaced by new blades. Now he replaced his armor with lighter armor, and he had found his hairstyle to be different. Dragoth now was confused. He searched everywhere for the man he was, but he only found emptyness. For a year he traveled the earth, continuing his search. Then he found a man with a similar face to the man who nearly slain him.

    That's when his eyes turned crimson, that's when he learned his newfound strength, and that, is when he learned to have fun once again.

    As he found himself in this new world, he found new weapons being used. Dragoth found those weapons to be useless against him, and he found this new generation of warriors to be again useless. Then he found something, a "Tournament of Arms" This was his calling, and so Dragoth made his way to it, in hope and ambition that he would find someone worth fighting...

    Weapons: 12 daggers (6 throwing, 3 combat, 2 water seekers, and 1 genetic extension)

    Appearance: She has short blue tipped black hair and strikingly violet eyes. She wears a black tank top and long black trousers with black leather armguards

    Battle style: Kryn strikes with the speed and ferocity of a tsunami, parting where she meets resistance before striking where her foe is vulnerable. When hard pressed she will prefer to dance around the enemies attacks than meet them head on

    Abilities: Kryn has a limited ability to control water but lacks the ability to create it at will as she received no training. Her major power stems from alternations to her genetic code using DNA from a shadow stalker, a semi-sentient entity that can de materialise its physical being at will. While in this state she is practically invulnerable as she can pass through solid objects, she can't attack though making it useful only for intimidation, dodging, and ambush. This ability though is harmful to her as her body wasn't designed to take the stress of constant demateralisation and therefore has a safe zone of five uses per hour, any more and she will begin to tear her body apart from the inside.

    Bio: Born into the lower family of house Delrenthis she was subject to cruel training and experimentation to form her into a weapon with the sole purpose of serving the higher family. At the age of 14 she was assigned to the newly born Rydell, next heir of the family, as a protector. Kryn never truly obeyed the higher family, flagrantly disrespectful and insubordinate, but she knew the limits and made sure never to cross the line. At 10 years old Rydell was infected with a deadly illness forcing the house to find a solution to this disastrous problem, their scientists managed to discover a way to implant somebodies concious into another body. Short of time though the scientist could not perfect the system leaving it as it was, the process destroyed the mind of the donner body. Kryns body was chosen to house the heir as she was the least loyal of all the houses subjects. Kryn knowing her fate sabotaged the process half way through causing Rydells conscious to be absorbed as a separate part of her mind. Rydell cannot control any of kryns actions but can feel everything she does as well as seeing her thoughts. The two minds have a love hate relationship as neither can actually do anything to the other. After the process the duo were forced to flee as they couldn't prove that rydell still lived, they spent the next three years on the run. Stumbling across the tournament of arms they decided to join, knowing that even the house wouldn't stage an assassination at a televised event.

    Appearance:
    Size wise he is very similar to a human, with a lean, muscular build. Short black hair and glowing light blue eyes that pulse with the same frequency as his heart. Unlike humans his skin is a dark blue colour. His attire is kept simple for fighting purposes. He wears only a short sleeved black shirt and loose fitting black trousers.

    Biography:
    He was born into a strict military family and was quickly recruited into a legion under the command of Malphas, a great demon warlord. After basic militia training he took to learning martial arts and melee weapon handling, mastering both faster than any before him.
    He quickly grew bored of using other’s combat styles and started developing his own. Realising warfare had evolved into ranged combat he learnt how to funnel his very being through various objects, namely his sword. This proved extremely successful and allowed him to excel at both melee and ranged encounters.
    His abilities didn’t go unnoticed and he was quickly promoted to Malphas’ second in command. Seeing how useful melee combat was in close quartered cities and citadels Malphas had him sent on an assignment to seek out and destroy the best fighters Earth had to offer. Upon entering the human realm he quickly caught wind of an upcoming fighting tournament, the Tournament of Arms. Knowing this was his chance to come face to face with many fighters he entered without a moments thought.

    Personality:
    Sarcastic and cocky are two of his more obvious traits. Very stubborn with an intense drive to succeed in everything he does.

    Weapons:
    Katana
    His weapon was handed down to him after gaining promotions in the demon legion. This is similar to a human made katana with 12 runes running the length of the blade. The runes light up with a feint blue glow when attacks are made or received. Due to a lack of battle experience he has never managed to fully light the runes and so it is unknown what happens when this is achieved. The hilt is moulded perfectly to fit his grip and is wrapped in a dull red leather strap.

    He also carries 2 black shuriken, concealed in a small leather pouch clipped around his waist.

    Abilities:
    He is able to imbue his katana with any element that is in his immediate surroundings. This ability is normally only used to reduce the damage of elemental attacks against him.

    His need to go unnoticed in the human realm means most of his demonic abilities are unknown and go untested in mortal combat.

    The new threads will still be up today (as it is technically Monday), but it'll be later on in the evening. Like, much later. I had hoped to have them up right about now or so, but the weekend was far busier than I had anticipated, and I think it's been the same for the others.

    I asked Psiko to get a note up for me, but I guess that didn't happen. Oh well, no big. Internet's been out for a day and a half or so, and it's shoddy at best right now. It keeps timing out.     Yes, it is understood that you are restored to full health between rounds; consider a fight would last a couple of hours at most, and you'd have a week to recover before the next one. I usually put in some specifics regarding such things, but failed to do so this time.

    The only things you wouldn't be able to recover from would be loss of limb or somesuch, and even then, we can find ways around that... with approval, for instance, you could go all FMA and get some automail or something like that. We're pretty flexible.

    For those of you who chose not to participate (despite agreeing to participate when you signed up) simply because you're looking for a bigger tournament... well, here's how it works.

    We're going to continue to run SMALL TOURNAMENTS until one actually manages to be successful. When that happens, we'll bump the limit up from eight to sixteen. Until people actually manage to participate in these things, there's no point whatsoever in trying to do the same thing on a larger scale.

    I actually feel bad for the people who were cut. They probably would have bothered to post.
