Why Lil Wayne?

For the longest time I have been wondering what is so great about Lil Wayne. Everyone seems to be in love with his music. Personally I think it is not that good. I have listened to alot of his songs, even back when he was with The Hot Boyz, and it is all the same to me. Annoying he just has something in his voice that angers me.

Anyway my question for everyone is do you like Lil Wayne? And if so why?

I do, and because he's a black guy... they are funny, and know the Cupid Shuffle.

Honestly, yeah I do lol and I really don't know

one of the few rappers I actually listen to.

Eh, he's got some pretty funny things to say in some of his lyrics. Seems like he's just doing what he wants to do with life, and I respect that.

The thing I don't like about him (and if you watched the documentary on him, you'd know) is he basically has created "Lil Wayne" and turned himself into it, and he just spends all day drinking soda mixed with cough syrup and listening to his own music.

I did watch this, and it was sad. It is horrible that he has transformed himself like that. He has gone from Dwayne Carter to Lil Wayne in a way that can kill his ass. As I said in the thread that you made on the documentary Che I am from the South, and you hear all the time about the rappers from New Orleans or Baton Rouge that die from syrup. Maybe his time in jail will help him kick this addiction. Cause if it doesn't then his kids might end up fatherless, cause you don't f*ck around with the syrup...

Meh... he's all right. I tend to enjoy his older stuff most. Really if I'm in the mood for hip hop I'm either listening to Biggie, Bone Thugs, or Jedi Mind Tricks these days.

Hell yeah block why would you listen to anything else. A little bit of Biggie and some Bone Thugz & Harmony and everything is good. I start everyday with a little 1st of tha month....

You guys must not realize that Lil Wayne is a beast, silly noobs lol.

honestly, Lil Wayne is alright in small doses. I did like his older stuff more anyways but I do have respect for his lyrical abilities. I know I wouldnt be able to pull rhymes like that off the top of my head, he must always be thinking about stuff like that. His rock/rap album is fkn stupid though.
