First album you ever bought.

Just like the title says:

Mention what your first album was and why you bought it.

Mine was "Elephant" by The White Stripes.
It could've been the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By The Way", but I think it was the White Stripes one.

I was drawn to "Elephant" because it sounded like actual rock and it was way better than all that shit I heard on tv/radio at that time. I was about 12-13 back then. Who knew "Seven Nation Army" would become a stadium hit?

The first album that I ever bought with my own money was the Queen platinum edition greatest hits 3-disc set. I bought it because when I was growing up, my parents would always play old Queen cassettes in the car on long road trips, and listening to them always brought back very fond memories, so I figured that since we no longer had the cassettes, let alone a cassette player, I'd just buy the giant greatest hits pack.

When I was about 9 years old, the first cassette I bought was Hanson's Middle of Nowhere. When my parents got me a CD player, it became my first CD as well. It has been over a decade, and I still have not recovered fully.

The first actual album that I bought myself was Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park, which I bought when I was about 10. I had tons of compilations when I was a kid, like Now 40 and stuff like that.

I don't remember that well but I think that Fallen from Evanescence was first album that I bought (I was 13 years old).I don't buy albums that often.I bought maybe 10 albums so far.If I need any songs or albums I just go to my friend he collects that.

The first album I ever bought was Korn's Follow the Leader. I had it for a whole two months, and then my parents found it. They listened to it, and deemed it unworthy for my young ears. My mom broke it in half and threw it away.

My next album (get ready for this) was Backstreet Boy's aptly named title Backstreet Boys. Yeah, that's a complete 180 from my first purchase, but you must realize that I was in junior high at the time, and I had a young and impressionable mind. So with that purchase I turned into one of those annoying girls in school who LOVED the Backstreet Boys, and bought everything with thier face on it.

"Greatest Hits" -Westlife

First album... Don't suppose I could lie and make up a story about how I(right away) knew excellent bands from shitty ones and picked the greatest band ever and their greatest album? No? Fine...bastards...

Genesis' live album "The Way we Walk, Volume One: The Shorts".

I had heard "That's All" over the radio and asked my mom who it was. When she told me, I found the album and bought it. Listened to it forever, each night. Until, one day, I bought a good album. Story over.

I used to tape music off the radio/tv when i was younger, however the first album i ever purchased i can't remember exactly... It was either Green day - Dookie or The smashing pummpkins - Mellon collie and the infinite sadness, both on tape but no recollection which i got first

Human League - Dare *shows age*

They were actually experiencing somewhat of a comeback in the Nineties, and I used to listen to a lot of shows which played 80s music, therefore knew some of their older stuff, which is what is on this album.

I also used to tape stuff from the radio as well. I would tape over stuff I'd recorded a few weeks previously, and then regret it. Now I can just pick and choose songs to download off iTunes.

I think my first cd that I purchased was " Get Rich or Die Tryin' " by 50 Cent. I had spent six weeks in NY during the summer listening to it in my then cousin's boyfriend's car and I liked it.

As in the album I bought and didn't get as a gift or a hand me down then it would be I believe Dude Ranch by Blink 182. I got that and their album Buddha at the same time. But Buddha wasn't as good.

I remember my first albums were actually gifts but the first that i bought was Mettalica 'Justice for all' and then heaps of other Metallica after that.

hmmm...my very first album i ever brought is JTL with the title "Enter The Dragon". It also my first Korean band's album..
my first Hollywood album is Evanescence with the title Fallen..
ummm...i brought it at 2003 if i'm not mistaken..
