    Disturbed

Tell me what you think of them? Why do you like/dislike them? What's your overall review of them as musicians?

For me, I'm a big fan of disturbed. They just released Indestructible last month and I'm very impressed with it. I was kind of irritated though that "This Moment" from the transformers soundtrack wasn't on it. But Disturbed impressed me again. Every c.d., from The Sickness to Indestructible, they have a never failing way to change and be unique in every album. My favorite part of them are the lyrics, especially for the song itself Indestructible. And their artwork for their album covers are becoming more interesting. Overall give disturbed an 9/10.

"Disturbed is a group filled with songs that are guitar driven, melodic and extremely catchy. These guys really know how to write memorable hooks, and every CD is packed with them. With their newer album, there's more aggression this time around and some faster and darker songs to add some variety to the mainstream mid-tempo tracks. "
So now you’re suffering the fallacy of what you said
When you uncover the depression from where you’ve tread
Breathe over the glass you wrote on
Swallow all that you waste your throat on
You wear the mark and wave the banner they made with sin
Revealing every single lie that you’ve been breeding within
Wash over the skin you’ve broken
Think over the tone you spoke in

I must admit at first I was not into Disturbed at all but then as time went on my friends turned me on to them and I became fan! Now, I have three of their albums (with the exception of Indestructible)

Disturbed. What can I say about them? They are simply an excellent band that always sound fresh to me. Unlike a lot of bands that have been out for a while, Disturbed's sound hasn't changed. Instead of attempting to follow whatever direction metal music is going at the time, Disturbed is staying true to their own unique sound and lyrics that has gotten them where they are today and each album this band has put out just keeps getting better and better. I didn't buy Indestructible yet but I've listened to Inside The Fire and Perfect Insanity and I can say both songs are amazing. I'll probably buy their new album next week.

Anyway, I give Disturbed 10/10 without thinking twice.

They're a cool band. One of my top favorites. They appeal to me both musically and lyrically.

    Why do you like/dislike them?
They have a unique sound. I don't know if it's the way their music is of if its David's vocals but they stand out to me then to other bands that I listen to. And again, I really like their lyrics. It's relatable.

What's your overall review of them as musicians?
If you look back the The Sickness days up to now, the band has evolved in many ways. As Omega said, they're staying true to themselves and not selling out their sound to what's in at the moment. And some people might disagree with me on this because they're mainstream. But if you compare them to a lot of the mainstream bands out there, they stick out.

And I agree. The album covers are really good. I'm glad in Indestructible, they stood with the person who also did the album art for Ten Thousand Fists too. The only downside I can say about Disturbed is their sound can get a bit repetitive at times. I really didn't notice it on the first three albums, but with Indestructible, I noticed that at the end it feels like this one huge song instead of three of four. But it's still a great album.

    9/10

Disturbed are one of my favourite bands, probably in my top 5. They have a unique sound and their songs deal with a lot of things. Other than that, they're pretty talented and they're songs are really good. With the exception of maybe three.
The artwork is pretty cool, especially 'The Guy.' Actually, he looks freaky on Indestructible. Um...
Yeah, that's all I can say about them now. Once again I'm on my computer well into the early hours of the morning (3 am) so... I can't concentrate as much as usual. Overall? 9.5/10, Disturbed Rock.

I'm going to have to agree with Fishie on all accounts, but there really isn't anything wrong with one huge song. It's still epically awesome. I love Disturbed ever since they first came out with The Sickness. I have all four albums currently. I love every single one.

How do they have a unique sound? They sound similar to various other bands of the same genre. They even sound slightly similar to Soilwork, if you really think about it.

I don't like Disturbed. I used to think they were okay, but I moved on from them and like other stuff now. I don't really find them very heavy, either and that's a part of what I usually go for in music.

    OMG you traitor

I love disturbed. As everyone else has said the have a distinctive sound but to the things that do it for me is the raw feel of it.

when i say raw i mean like Dramain's laugh at the beginning of Inside The Fire and all of the other opening noises. And things like the mind i'm a losing my mind reaped at teh end of Perfect Insanity. and teh best thing sit that they are consistent with teh raw stuff.

The Sickness - Down With The Sickness - The oooooooooooo wah a ahah bit

Believe - Prayer - The Opening Guitar riff has got so much umph and the reach out to me bit

Ten Thousand Fists -Ten Thousand Fists and Stricken - The whole feel of Ten Thousand fist is awesome. and the riff for stricken, its the definition of brutal.

Indestructible - God all of them - As everyone said its like one huge song and it is all so Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I would say my favourite songs but i like all of them literally
And from a drumming point of view their drummer has evolved over the years. you can see a definite difference in skill and speed from sickness to Indestructible

    SO ROCK ON

Over all I give Them 1000000000000000000000000000/10

I dont think they sound remotely close to Soilwork, but meh, my opinion.

Disturbed are ok. A bit generic, but still original, and good at what they do. The new album was quite good I thought. Very catchy and good songs. They stay in your head and dont atually suck. All in all a good band but not the best around and they have improved with each album imo. I will say that his "monkey scream" is awesome.

The first song I heard from Disturbed was Down With The Sickness from the Queen of the Damned album. Easily became my fave song of the album..except for the bridge because when he was cursing his Mom. I couldn't turn the volume up on my radio or it would freak out my mom. For several years I believed that it was sung by 2 different people. True Story.

Then a few years later, I was kinda looking for a heavier type of music but not the "screaming my lungs out as if I am in frikkin hell" type of heavy. Then I recall..I wanted to check out that band who sang Down With The Sickness. Next thing you know I got The Sickness, Believe , Ten Thousand Fists and Indestructible.

I agree that they sound a bit mainstream but I really dont care as long as I like the songs. Draiman got a really talented voice and it's amazing how the rest of the brand grew throughout the album. Donegan's talent started to shine in Ten Thousand Fists and continued on to Indestructible. Their drummer's pretty badass too.

I agree that the songs in Indestructible kinda sound the same but I find that a good thing because I love their style in this last album. Here's few comments on some of the songs:

Deceiver - If you didn't like this song the first time you hear it. Listen to it over and over again. Now it's one of my favorites.

The Night - This is classic. Seriously, they should release this one.

Criminal - One of my favorite tracks of the album. This song just gets my blood pumping

Inside the Fire - most awesome intro ever hehe because of the laugh. He does it perfectly on live performances too. I also find its message/concept unique.

Indestructible - for some reason, this is really a good workout song especially in the treadmill.

I really like their music. I got into them when I was looking for songs for an amv I was making. Well I ended up using their song Rise and then their song I'm Alive for 2 amvs. I also have some of their songs on my mp3 player for when I work out. I did buy their new cd Indestrictible. Its awesome!

Disturbed is freakin awesome. i saw them at Ozzfest 06 and in my opinion they stole the show from another fav band: system of a down. i was really impressed with indestructable. one thing i've noticed is that they have kinda grew up from the sickness. like in the first album it was full of anger and pain. then Believe they kind of mellowed out, the anger is still there but in a more controlled form, i think. it may sound kind of weird but when i think of their albums i think of a person going thru the different stages of life: child (sickness) >> teen/young adult (believe) >> adult/elder (ten thousand/indestructable)

OMFreakingG the Indestrutible Album Sounds Awsome.

I bought it today and it sounds great.

the music is awsome although i must admit some of the later tracks sound a bit the same but i like that it just rolls at the end it's great.

the Artwork looks cool two although i do like the Ten thousand fists art work.

Disturbed are awesome, Ten Thousand Fists by far takes the cake in terms of their best album to date, Indestructible comes close 2nd tho. (luv the album cover guys!!)

Best songs are Land of Confusion, Stupify, Deciever, Perfect Insanity, Liberate, Decadence, Remember, Ten Thousand Fists, Sacred Lie, Just Stop and Inside the Fire.

I also like how that, when people ask "Watcha listenin' too?", and I reply "Disturbed", they look at me as if I'm disturbed. But then I get them to listen and they just realize it's just Heavy-Rock and nothing else.

Disturbed is one of those bands that's been consistently good with all their albums, and only got progressively better with each one.

I first got into them ages and ages ago when Voices was advertised on the main screen of Napster, I wound up buying the album, then their 2nd in my junior year of high school, and have been a fan since.

I won the first three albums from an online music store and because they were mainstream, I'm primarily a grunge fan and as the saying goes 'Grunge is dead' (though not completely ), I didn't think I'd like them. Despite this I gave them a try, and the raw emotion expressed in their music appealed to me instantly.

They could very well be a 'generic band', but I'm personally yet to hear another band who sounds just like they do. For kicks I streamed a couple of songs by Soilwork who someone mentioned earlier had a similar sound, and I'm afraid I didn't hear it myself. Maybe it's just some of their songs?

To me, they are a tad on the heavy side because I'm new to this type of music. Haha, BIG difference from Theory to Disturbed, I tell ya!

I got the Indestructable album over Christmas. HMV were doing loads of deals, and stuff, so I picked it up. First impressions? I wanted to take it back to the shop, but I'd already taken it out of the plastic. :S

But... I don't know, one or two of the songs kind of grew on me. I really like Indestrustable, but I tend to always like the frist song on an album because it's usually the first one you hear. My favourite has got to be Enough though. Facade is good too I guess, so these three are my favourites. The other songs... haven't grown on me as much, but they are still ok.

    Listening to these guys has made me want to try heavier stuff though. ^^;;

I'm afraid I never really liked disturbed, I missed out on the whole heavy rock thing, going straight from soft indie/emocore to deathcore/metalcore, and now that I tend to listen to a lot of deathcore the vocals just seem a little too soft I'm afraid.

Plus I couldn't kick the feeling that they were just, oh I don't know how to say this, a bit nerdy. Sorta like dragonforce (who I really don't like!) just not as extreme.

Another reason for not liking them was because they were part of the making of "Queen of the Damned", quite possibly the most inferior sequel in history. The soundtrack was average and I hated the storyline because it had just become a cheesy "Let's be sexy cause we're vampires" film, which annoyed the hell out of because "Interview" was such a beautiful film both stylistically in terms of mise en scene and cinematography, but also because it downplayed a lot of the sex angle. "Queen of the Damned" ruined that and disturbed helped by making it sound all hardcore and crap

Sorry guys I just don't really like 'em, nothing against you of course.

Honestly before their indestrucible album I thought they were horrible. Down with the sickness and stupify were overrated and over played. Once they started releasing awesome tracks such as inside the fire, land of confusion, and 10,000 fist then I started becoming a fan. But I still hate those two awful songs..

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!
