Just curious who everyone thinks is the best shredder/solist.
My vote goes to Buckethead for this song:

from 1:43-2:03, just look at his hands...
Buckethead has a ton of songs so if someone doesn't understand just how awesome Buckethead is, I may be back in this thread with more proof.

Easily the best soloist is Eddie Van Halen. Not only can he shred but it also sounds tasteful. Eruption case in point.
But if youre talking about an alllout shredder i would go for Alex Skolnick. His solos are unbelievably fast and they all f#cking sound unbelievable. His best solo is "Practice what you preach".
.....or Steve Vai.
God there is so many...Buckethead of course insane shit that you need a helmet to even attempt...Sinister Gates from Avenged Sevenfold is pretty good as well...Eddie Van Halen for sure eruption god crazy shit..
I have named a few but there are still so many, Kirk Hammett(spelled wrong probably), guy from dragonforce can't ever remember his name...
There is too many to pick just one you have to name them in large groups to me naming one is just unexceptable..
Definitely Carlos Santana is one of my alltime favorite shredders. So much musical talent in one man, it's freaking scary. Not only that, but the guy has been around for decades and still has it. Also, he has had a very interesting life so far, definitely one that has kept his rockstar status throughout all of the years. He has callaborated songs and records with more famous people then probably all of us on tff put together will ever meet. Absolutely sick imo.
