Ayreon

So I've discovered a band that I really can't seem to get enough of, and I was wondering if anybody else has heard of them. Ayreon is a progressive metal band, and essentially the only member is Arjen Anthony Lucassen, a former guitarist from the heavy metal band Vengeance. He does the majority of all the music for the albums, as well as some vocals, but what I find most intriguing are the science fiction themed concept albums with the guest vocalists, including such names as Russel Allen of Symphony X, Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, James LaBrie of Dream Theater, and one of my personal favorites, the late Mike Baker of Shadow Gallery.

I listen to them ocassionally, but the only work of Arjen's that I find real interest in is The Human Equation. The rest isn't really to my taste, although I'm quite a James Labrie fan, mostly from early Dream Theater.

I'm a huge Ayreon fan, and a huge fan of Arjen himself. I own pretty much every album he's done so far. My favourite Ayreon album is Into The Electric Castle, everything about the album is great.
