  1. Cookie of the Week: Spiced Apple Drops

That's what I'm making today. Got my last two batches in the oven as I type, in fact. The weather has definitely turned toward autumn, which means it's chilly and the sky is kind of broody, cloudy and just glum. So I wanted to look for a cookie version of a classic comfort food, apple pie. Cause pie is messy and not as fun to bring to work.

These certainly smell delicious; they legit smell exactly like apple pie. I am making a modification to the recipe; as is, it calls for an icing ...

  2. The Throne was Still Warm

by , 09-20-2012 at 08:03 AM (The Michael Swayne Story V: King of his Castle)
For some weird reason, my computer was working fine for a whole 30 minutes on Saturday, 19 minutes on Monday, and 35 minutes yesterday. I think that it knows its time on my desk is growing short, and is wanting to prove it is still functional one last time before it is forever stowed underneath my bed or in my closet. 3. Caution: major vent approaching, ye hast been warned

I have been feeling pretty down a lot lately, losing confidence in myself, not handling things well. It sucks, I know; currently dealing with some personal issues that affected me greatly over time, I feel like I need guidance and inspiration. This morning I woke up feeling angry and pretty junky and I know it doesn't help. Somehow, despite all this, I'm able to keep going, only I just don't know where to go and what to do.

I really don't like being in this position. If anyone has ...

  4. Shuttle Endeavour's last flight

I just watched the livestream a few minutes ago of Endeavour lifting into the sky for the last time. Not on a mission of course, as the fleet, well, what remains of it, are officially retired. It's heading for California, no doubt to spend the rest of its life as a museum exhibit or some other equally miserable fate.

It makes me sad. But I also feel fortunate, as I actually witnessed a shuttle launch some years back. I do not remember which one it was but my brain wants to say Discovery. ...

  5. Ever start working on something

and realize it's way more involved than you thought it would be?

Yeah. The corollary to that being holy shit, I never realized just how massive this series really is now. Looks like that sidebar's going to be on the backburner, at least for now.

That does seem to happen to me a lot, now that I think about it. It never looks like a lot of work until I actually start, well, working on it and then it turns into this enormous hydra-like virtual being.

    So ...
