Today I had a nice quiet time at home. Until the phone would ring, or someone would pull in the driveway, or the neighbor's dogs would bark. Other than being a secretary today, I had no real plans. If my brother would just tell people where he is going to be to the people who always call or always show up, I wouldn't have to constantly go outside or answer the house phone and tell these people that he isn't home. And it's not they can figure it out by driving by the house or calling his cell ...

I am getting sick and tired of my brother bringing his "girlfriend" and her kid here to stay the night. Does he not think that maybe the other inhabitants of this house want to sleep without hearing some infant crying all night?

Oh, but Michael, people like who they like, and they want to be with them as much as possible. I get that, but there is always her place that they can go to instead of here. There are motels, hotels, campgrounds, outside under the stars, anywhere ...

So last night, Jay not only ate -a lot- of leftover turkey chili, but he also went through: an entire (large) bag of hot wings, plus the smaller box of TGI Fridays brand of wings, then the bag of Chinese Dumplings I'd bought and then more turkey chili.

He said something about me cooking too much and I had to sit him down and patiently explain to him that

1.) Cooking for just 2 people has never been in my vocabulary - even when I lived alone. And technically speaking, ...

I finally started playing Ni No Kuni today. I really like it so far. It was rather slow to get started, but now that I am fighting battles and able to gain abilities and whatnot, it is really fun to play. Here's how the characters look like so far stat-wise.

First, U has been limping on one of his hind legs for the last couple of days. He was out playing in the field and stepped on a thorn. It was in a really painful part of his paw, too. Comparable to a paper cut where the creases are on our fingers. He just hops around like it doesn't bother him. He spends the days sleeping in Mom's front room chair. She and U will get along wonderfully when Mom comes home. I just know it. He's such a cuddle monster!
