Beat Bioshock 2 the other day, now I'm wrapping up the DLCs that came with it when I both the double pack. It was solid, but I didn't like it as much as the first one. Maybe because the first had a little more of a survival horror element, where I didn't have a shit ton of ammo at all times.

Bioshock Infinite next, then maybe Tomb Raider if the freakin patch is fixed and I can play the damn game.

I finished Assassin's Creed III a few days ago. So now that I had time to think about it, I must admit... I am disappointed in both the game and myself.
First things first: I didn't really like to play AC1. Just because it was way too monotonous for me. In every f-ing corner of every f-ing city I had to do the same things? Exactly the same? With no variation? No, thank you. I longed for more time with Desmond, because the story in the present was way more interesting for me. But I had to finish the in-animus-story to see more Desmond, so... I let my boyfriend finish all the relevant scenes for me (even the last fight - I know, I suck really hard!). Still, I liked Altair, and the game itself. It was just boring to play it.
Then, a year passed. And when I was at a convention with friends we planned to cosplay AC - but they said that I had to play all other AC games before we do that. (And I really wanted to cosplay an assassin, because I would like to sew that outfit!)
Long story short: I fell in love with Ezio instantly (even my boyfriend wasn't interesting for me anymore *haha* jk), I needed only a few weeks to finish AC2 and did LOTS of side missions. I needed exactly 5 days to finish Brotherhood and another week to finish Relevations (because I wanted to know WHY THE F*CK DID YOU DO IT DESMOND?!).

That being said: I loved all the game surrounding Ezio. And I was NOT disappointed because AC3 wasn't about Ezio anymore. Not the least. I even wanted to see a new assassin.
The problem was: I liked Haytham, really. I mean, I was like Desmond just sitting there, with my mouth open and almost in the same moment shouted "Wait... WHAT???" at the end, but... yeah, he was an interesting character. And then Connor came. And I really liked him at the beginning, for being a cute little boy. Then, when he grew older, he was okay as well. But at one point I started to wonder if he was given ANY personality at all. He was the clichee of a young native American: stubborn and always doing what HE thinks is best. I started disliking him when he shouted at Achilles, like "you didn't show me anything, you're useless, blahblahblah". -_- I like Achilles. And I think he was a great mentor. If you ask me, Connor is ungrateful. And stubborn.

The other aspect I didn't really like was the story itself. Please don't murder me for saying this, but I wasn't that interested in the story surrounding the war at all. There was nothing I really wanted to achieve. (Okay, American independence IS a good aim, but I knew it would happen even without me doing anything at all ) What was it that CONNOR had to do with all the war going on? He wanted to save his people, and in the end, failed. What was the purpose? I appreciate that Connor failed - it shows that people are able to fail, even if they're master assassins. Still, it felt like it was useless to play the game at all.

Also, as I didn't like Connor anymore, it wasn't much fun doing all the random side missions like hunting or even completing the maps (which really is my favorite activity in ANY game). Idk, I just wasn't interested anymore.

And as for the end itself... F*ck you, Juno. That's all I have to say about it.

To conclude: I hate ships. I hate Connor. I'm happy Connor won't be featured in the next game. And I still hate ships, which is why I probably won't play AC4, and will again watch my boyfriend play it.
Seems I'm not made to play those games. xD

I finished Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando the other day. I feel really disconnected from the modern gen of games when I say that

Anyway I beat the game on regular mode and now I'm gonna play it through again on Challenge Mode. Basically you start the game over again but with all your weapons, health and stuff you may have collected. There's extra weapons you can buy, plus you get a Bolt (money) multiplier ever time you kill enemies, which is very useful when some of the more powerful guns cost around 1.5 mil.

Compared to the newer R&C titles this one focuses more on platforming, something which they started to move away from starting with Up Your Arsenal. It's a lot of fun to play, and quite a nice break from RPG's, which I find can get a bit tiresome if you play them back to back.

If I was to find faults with this game I would say that the lack of 'Max out Ammo' option when stocking up at a vendor is a bit of a pain, especially when you have to cycle through 10+ weapons and buy ammo for each one individually. It's a bit like the Save Points not healing you in the older FF's: Not exactly a huge issue but you're very grateful when you reach one in X or XII and your party is fully restored. Also the ending is very abrupt, you beat the final boss and the game is pretty much over. TBH the story wasn't as 'epic' as the later games, so I can't really blame it for having a huge finale.

If i'm still in the mood I might continue with R&C by playing Up Your Arsenal next, as you get the option to transfer weapons from previous games over to your file, which means i'll have like 30 guns/etc to level up and screw around with. Sounds pretty cool to me.

Also could a mod maybe Sticky this thread? It's one of those ones that you want to keep coming back and posting in, I've found it to be pretty useful.

Beat Bioshock Infinite the other day. Holy shit my mind was blown. I'll talk about that in the other thread though.

I'm pissed at myself though because I missed just ONE kinetoscope/ telescope for that achievement. I have no idea where it is, but it was a little kick in the pants when I had 36/37 found.

I also missed like six Voxophones, which also annoyed me, but mainly because I didn't want to miss anything in the story.

In other good news, they finally put out a patch to fix the loading issue with Tomb Raider, so I can actually finish that one. There's no way in hell that I was going to play that without being logged in. I spent too much time scouring the maps for every single GPS, document and stupid little hidden thing to shoot, set on fire or pick up.

Yes, I'm such a sucker for things like that.

I finished the after game portion of Tales of Graces F, lineage & legacies. Overall pretty good. The comedy was better than TotA, kind of on par w/ ToL. Story felt short and not as grand as TotA. Battle system was nice, being constantly rewarded w/ new titles that you give you stat boosts, abilties , etc.

    Costume Quest

I've wanted the game for ages, and finally got it in a sale at the beginning of April. It's a ton of fun. It's pretty much a "lite RPG", but it can be fairly challenging at times, especially if you keep messing up the button commands like I did. ^^; It's also on the short side. It could probably be finished in a sitting, but I paced myself because I didn't want it to end. Bought the Christmas-themed expansion "Grubbins on Ice" last night. Gonna play it soon.

I beat Tomb Raider last night. I have to say that I was pretty content with how everything ended. I wasn't surprised, but I was more than pleased with the reboot. It had a simplistic Metroid Prime style of play, where you could revisit previous areas and use your new tools to unlock new goodies, which I do enjoy. I got most of the single player challenges, but haven't bothered playing the multiplayer. I just can't see it being that solid. Maybe I'll try it, and hopefully I'm wrong.

Right now, I'm working on Dishonored, once again looking for all the Runes haha

Freeware puzzle-horror game The Witch's House.

Overall good consistency of puzzles, with only a few that are a little too obtuse. I'd complain about the amount of cheap deaths the game throws at you if it wasn't for the fact that they're fun to watch, and you'll generally only run into each one once. Just make sure you save often. I'd say it's about 1-3 hours of gameplay on average when you include all the deaths.

Not much story, but what little story you do get from the diaries is good enough. After viewing the true ending, I thought the game's ending was great; made the whole game really worth the experience.

I beat The Walking Dead video game last weekend-with a lot of help from Julie. (Any time I was too lazy to do something that seemed hard, I handed the controller off to her, haha.) It was a good game. It had good characters and made you make decisions that impacted the rest of the game. However, sometimes I felt really rushed. Like, do something in a split second or you DIE/SOMETHING BAD WILL HAPPEN, even though it doesn't seem like that will be the case! It also had a natural tendency to make me feel like a bastard with my choices.

My favorite character was Kenny. He had an epic moustache and he liked to drink. He was a major dick towards the end, but eh. It's explainable. Anyhoo...

Bought Super Mario World and Aladdin for SNES recently, had to beat them right away. Apparently Sega Genesis version of Aladdin is superior in many ways or so I heard, I found this one to be pretty good as well. It has looks and charm of that 90's Aladdin cartoon, it's bit easy though due to being rather short and password poping out every two levels. Super Mario World is my favorite Mario game next to Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, used to play this all the time when I was a kid. It was pretty great going through all those levels again, lots of nostalgia, I even remember location of, and how to reach, every secret level, with that being said I still have several levels to beat in Special World.

SUper Mario World rocks. I've played that game alot, when I was a kid. All Stars is the sex as well. All of them are great.

I recently finished a game called Polara. Hard as hell, but also very fun and rewarding. Now I'm having a blast redoing the levels for collecting all the letters and the devices for extra challenge. This game is the shit, I highly recommend, especially if you like hard platform type games.

Just got through Star Ocean The Last Hope. An inferior game than Tales of Graces F IMO. This cast is probably the most annoying with Meracle, Serah, Lymle, & Welch. Battle system was good though I wished they had some features as ToGF. I didn't like how when the enemy was knocked down only certain attacks would land. Quite stupid even though my weapon would pass through their strike box.

Apparently I was able to get the character endings w/o funeral bouquets. Perhaps I read how to get them wrong. Oh well.

It should have been "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" by now but I got distracted by Tomb Raider. I must say I was impressed with Tomb Raider, I love the old ones, but this one is undoubtedly better in so many ways. For the first time I actually cared for Lara rather than her boobs (her boobs are still great by the way), they really made her vulnerable both via gameplay and story. It really felt like I was on an adventure, lots of things to explore and collect on the island, completed 91% of the game so there's still some left to find. Tomb Raider is definitely a strong contender for the game of the year in my book next to Bioshock Infinite.

Dissidia. Bought it a while ago but got over it after I finished the first part of the story and just stuck to playing Quick Battles every now and then. Cloud's been my main character through the second part of the story, not only because he was the highest level but because he just crushes everything with his attacks.

Choas was so much easier than I thought he would be. He never landed a HP Attack and I finished off each of the three rounds with an EX Burst. I guess I could keep playing to get Gabranth but that might require more effort than I have for this game.

Last game I beat was Remember Me (which I beat like last week), it was really fun to play. It had a unique story, an interesting world, fun collectibles especially the history articles (Mnesis) you can get. The game got pretty challenging at times but I was able to overcome whatever puzzles and battles I got stuck on. All in all, I put it on my top PS3/360 game list because it was very original and inventive, it even had a good ending IMO.

    Resident Evil Revelations

    Good

    - for a slightly improved 3DS version RER looks and plays rather well, I hear Capcom released better textures recently. There are instances where it reminds me of good ol' Resi, not often though. Narrow corridors, setting in general make for some scary moments. You can easily find yourself low on bullets and green herbs (that bitch Rachel is often responsible for that). Improving weapons can yield some impressive results, for instance, my handgun was almost as poweful as my shotgun.

    Bad

    - it's nearly impossible to dodge in this game. No puzzles, bland music, mostly boring characters. I didn't like those somewhat comic relief characters at all. Stupid AI, they follow just fine, though they shoot rarely at enemies. Enemies target you and you only, thus you have lots of stupid moments where they just stand next to your AI partner. It's unbelievably easy to get the highest rank at accuracy, you don't have to aim at specific spots, every hit counts the same. Several rather obvious twists, and some bullshit moments.

Overall, it's a solid game, a 7/10 if I had to rate it.

    To the Moon

I can't say a whole lot without spoiling stuff, but it's one of the most moving stories I've experienced in game format. A decent length, took me around 3-4 hours to finish. Don't expect much in terms of gameplay, it's an adventure game. Also, it has a great soundtrack.

It's by no means perfect, but I loved it. I'll just say 9/10 for the feels.

...Digimon Rumble Arena 2 for PS2...

Was chatting with my Sister and we both remembered playing the shit out of this game, back in the day. So I looked it up and found that it was going for anything between 40 to 269 USD. So I called around and found a local gamestop that had it for 15$.

I don't even like Digimon. Don't know shit about it. It was "Pokemon vs Digimon" and not many people gave a shit for Monster Rancher(I did). But this game is like Smash Bros mashed up with digivolving characters and it has a lot of entertaining, if frustrating, mini-games.

    7/10

Nights into dreams.... and Soul of Rebirth (FF II)

Nights into dreams... was frustrating at first. Was not used to such loopy controls and how to beat certain bosses. It's grown on me though. Playing again to try and A-rank the stages. So far, I've got two out of the way. Six more to go...

Soul of Rebirth was just more FF II, but you get to play as the characters who actually had some character to 'em Level up Dispel and Teleport, then the game is beyond easy, though you do have to get through the hellish first half... >>

Just busted the shizz out of Portal, I know I know I have read about it, seen it but never got around to it, until a friend totally rocked a review for it so I got it and played it, it was short but satisfying I really enjoyed it, can't wait to get my hands on portal 2, and finding out that Portal and Half life were of the same universe/realm totally just blew my mind so much that I went researching between the origins and stories of both Aperture and Black Mesa.
So now that has lead me to play Half Life 2 and then I will probably play POrtal 2.

Sad to say I beat Xenoblade. Sad, for it was a wonderful game. At least there is the new game plus where I can plow through the game instead of taking 156 glorious hrs. I find this game's soundtrack to be better than Xenogears'. Overall the music just felt right and more lively. I noticed similarities between Xenogears and this game with sense of duality and balance between concepts.

This also felt like a good evolutionary step from FF XII in some ways; primarily the battle system. I'll put this in my top 5 rpgs if not games of all time.

I beat a certain NES title for the first time, it is called Faxanadu. The gameplay is Zelda II style although this game came out before zelda II. The storyline is about a nameless hero returning to his hometown after a long journey to find that his village is almost deserted and the wells have run dry. He has to go on a quest to remedy this problem and climb the world tree that is full of mist. This game will take you for a ride, it is quite up there in difficulty, but its not too hard. I recommend it if anyone is looking for an NES game to play.

I didn't have much left, only the month of december, but I got the true ending for Persona 4. After beating Xenoblade I figured to quickly get this game over. I stopped a few times while playing this to play other games. And most of those games weren't as good as P4. I bring dishonor to my family.

The last game I've finished was Persona 2: Innocent Sin. I love how Atlus is telling a story overarching through 5 main entry titles (since there are two P2's). On that note, I'm halfway done with Persona 2: Eternal Punishment... Very difficult because the battle system just did not age well.

Deadpool - Despite numerous flaws, I had so much fun playing this game. It has ridiculous, over the top, story and humor, it's Deadpool in a nutshell. While the gameplay gets repetitive rather fast, and there are no secrets and collectibles, my biggest beef with this game though is lack of more characters from Marvel universe, at least as cameos if nothing else.

I recently finished EarthBound for the 8th time, don't like it as much as I used to but I still find it a great game and it has a very nice ending to be treated to after you defeat the final boss and see the rest of the story. Here's hoping to a Mother 3 localization!
