Indeed, it was about girls in general. The gaming community as a whole is male-dominated. I bring that up because this is a gaming forum. It's not hard to figure out why. I'm not a girl and I can attest to how annoying it is to constantly have guys hounding me in online games trying to get in my pants, etc... I dealt with it for years in FFXI using a female avatar. It didn't matter that I told people I was a guy... no they still insist on slapping you on the ass, talking about what their {long sword} was going to do to my {Mithra} {fun} {hole}, etc. It's funny at first, but after a while it just becomes degrading and disgusting.

All I'm asking is that you guys think before you start writing that stuff. Usually you don't find out how much it hurts someone until it's too late.

In my opinion, there's merit all around. Merlin, it is definitely annoying and concerning to be constantly objectified. I get it a lot, online and off, and it (unfortunately) pisses me off to the point where I've cussed at people on the street. So you're right about that. I think this thread doesn't bother me because these are friends of mine and they know me (and hopefully respect me) as more than what their jokes imply. I'm not really taking any of this seriously, and I don't think they are either. So in this case, I am not offended. I'd hope and assume they wouldn't mess with a female member they didn't know in this way. I doubt it. If they did, then yeah.... that'd be ****ed haha.

Merlin has a point. That stuff seems funny, sure. But it is difficult to tell how it is being interpreted. And, at an aggregate (societal) level, it does amount to harassment to some extent.

On the other hand, my perception is that Ally doesn't mind. She is perfectly capable of holding her own and telling them when it is too much; to argue anything else is to say that she is incapable, when she is clearly a powerful, self-aware woman.

Make your own interpretation. All I'm prepared to say is that Ally has the agency to say/listen to whatever she wants.

To answer the question, I think only Ally could know. I mean for all I know she's apathetic to it or harbouring rotating obsessions with anyone mentioned as a potential suitor.
