My first play through I gave everyone the same thing which were Scorpion tails but, on my second play through I want to mix it up and have this general design.
Vaan- One handed sword or dagger and shield
Balthier - Gun, pole or handbomb
Fran- Bow, crossbow, pole or sword and shield
Basch- Katana, two handed sword
Ashe- Sword and shield
Penelo- Pole, bow or spear
Habitant vegetable soup blows the balls off every other vegetable soup
Nope. Seriously, I don't really bother with classes or such in the RPGs I play - it's unnecessary mostly. I find I get through better with shear force, so I make sure to give everyone the best gear they'll need - that usually means the same weapons and armour.
I mixed the magic up here and there, but everyone had the same thing as I found gambits did most of the work for me.
