I listen to a couple good German bands. Rammstein and Oomph ftw. And, just to stay on topic, my favorite Japanese songs.

i like listening to most of the japanese drama OST... esp Long Vacation, Beautiful Life and Nodame Cantabile....

yeah, yeah, me...i really love listening to any japanese songs..especially from anime series and drama...i remember when i was in high school i memorize a japanese song which is a theme of FUSHIGI YUUGI...i sing it every time i feel board with knowing the meaning..hehehe

Yeah, I like some JP music. But I don't really keep up with bands in particular any more than I do for domestic music (which is not at all). I listen to a lot of rock instrumental stuff. Think Guilty Gear/Daisuke Ishiwatari kind of music. I'm a huge fan of B'z, but there aren't a TON of artists that I follow much. It's mostly just individual songs I hear that stick out to me, the majority of them I hear in games or anime. I have a very eclectic taste in music, so I like a variety of things from Akatsuki no Kuruma to the final boss ver. of Burn My Dread. I just don't like things that have too much of a pop sound to them.

A friend of mine has also turned me on to Vocaloid "chorus" renditions, some of which are just amazing. My favorite is definitely Love is War. AnotherNicoUploader had it up on youtube, I think.

There's a few Japanese acts I listen to:

Boredoms (started out a noise-rock band, moved into more psych rock, and are now in the tribal drumming zone - it's all brilliant anyway)
OOIOO (side-project band of a member of Boredoms)
Mono (soaring instrumental rock)
Cornelius (sort of chilled-out dance/pop)
Boris (metal/noise rock)

those sorts of bands...im really into visual kei

I don't listen to alot of japanese music, except for high and mighty color. I first heeard them on one of the song for Gundam, after that I started listening to them alot. THey have multiple good songs but my favorite has gotta be pride..

Most j pop/ j rock acts i know i heard in anime and games. Two acts stand out for me, High and mighty color(Ichirin no hana especially) and Asian kung fu generation. Anything composed by Yoko Kanno is good as well, especially Kiseki no umi which is now one of my favourite songs.

I don't seek jap music out, but I have loved some of the soundtracks I've gotten free with videogames that had Jap music on them. Atlus published games in particular often have a nice sound on their free OSTs.

Sadly, those are the only ones i know....im trying to find more artists. I mostly get the artists from anime opening and closing themes.

Yeah those themes are good but " The World" by Nightmare was the best opening theme for Death Note. I like the opening theme of the anime Shakugan no Shana. The song is Hishoku no Sora by Kawada Mami
