Which FF had your Favorite Music?

The FF game that had the best music to me was FF8. The music had a very intriging sound to it for example, The Extreme, the final boss theme, was very weird and twisted to me. When it starts, you hear bells sound and then it turns and shows you it's demonic demented side and begins with the heavier part of the song. Also Eyes on Me is one of if not the greatest ending song of all FF games to date. This to me brings back many memories of my life like many of my hardships and trials I have faced.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

Again I would have to pick FFVIII, the main protagonists have their past revealed later on in the game. For example, when the party goes to Selphie's former garden they begin to remember, except Rinoa due to the fact that she did not grow up with them, that they all grew up in the same orphanage together and just somehow came together like it was fate or destiny.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

FFV was the first to introduce Gilgamesh in it, but he has appeared in many if not all the FF games so far. He has a very unique appearance and provides some comic relief and very needed aid to the party. For instance, in FFV he always made a silly excuse when he lost to the party and ran away. In FFVIII he randomly shows up and uses one of four techniques that ranged from dealing very low damage to instantly killing enemies. Not to forget that he has an awesome theme song.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

I would have to say FFXII due to the free roam and the active teammates. This helped me many times like when my leader was low on health one of my teammates would strike the enemy and distracte it while I healed or they would heal me depending on the person.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

I have two favorite villains, Ex-death from FFV and Sephiroth from FFVII. Ex-death had a strange motive that was very unique and has not been repeated yet as far as I know. He wanted supreme power to destroy everything including himself. Sephiroth is just so iconic that he has appeared more times than most other FF villains.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

This would have to be FFVIII. First of all the story combines elements of romance and twists. The romance between Squall and Rinoa is one of the most memorable tied with Zidane and Garnet. The twist is that all the characters knew each other when they were younger.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

Really all had a great ending, but FFVIII and IX were my favorites. Both incorporate romance into the ending and IX even adds a surprise in the mix as well. These two endings have greatly helped me in my life and have both taught me a lesson in life.

Re: Favorite Final Fantasy [Intellectual Version]

Which FF had your Favorite Music?
I would have to say I love four's music. I still love hearing the Redwings theme out of nostalgia. Zeromus has my favorite boss fight music. It sounded so hurried it made the fight seem even more desperate. I still have the Four Fiends theme stuck in my head. It's so over the top and dramatic it's hard not to like it.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?
Final Fantasy 7 gave almost all the characters a few minutes in the spotlight. Barret becomes less of a generic angry black guy when you find out how he suffered. Cid is only a grumpy old man becuse of a simple mistake. Yuffie actually becomes a little likable once you find out about Wutai. Overall the characters all felt very fleshed out.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?
Final Fantasy 5 had THE MIGHTY GILGAMESH! Frankly it was suprising to see that much depth ina villian much less a joke villian. Heck, Gilgamesh had more personality than a couple of the main party members. I also loved that he just pops up here and there in differents universes. I mean he got to one shot Siefer. I wanted to do that through the whole game. I always wanted to see his travels through each of the universes. I bet he would get along with Ultros.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?
5 agian. I really loved the job system in 1 and 3 but 5 just streamlined it. Suddenly every job had at least some purpose. I loved how varied each job was. It was kind of the precursor to the Tactics series far more complex application. I will give you I loved the fact that I could battle as Summons in 10. That was pretty nifty. Yojimbo is a poor man's Odin though.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?
I thought Mateus from 2 was pretty evil. He pretty much played around with the party like mice. He was indiectly or directly responsible of the deaths of most of your party members. He actually planned for you to kill him so he could become the king of hell itself. His death was just a power up really. He was so evil even his good half was sinister as could be.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?
I loved the storyline for 8. The only time I thought it hit a snag was when all the time travel stuff came up. Before then I was happy. I loved going toe to toe with the Galbanian Army. I actaully had fun storming a city as a military unit. I liked the Laguna flashbacks. I like fighting the Sorceress. I also felt that while Rinoa could be annoying that the love story felt genuine.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?
I loved 9's ending. After a few bittersweet finales like 6 and 7's I was glad to have a happy ending. Zidane showing up was really a welcome suprise. I really love that the beginning and ending are basically bookends. I wanted to know what happened to Kuja though. I felt bad for him.

Which FF had your favorite miniboss?
I loved dealing with Biggs and Wedge in 8. They were really out of thier elelment when they were fighting the party. I loved how them being demoted was a reoccuring joke. They were however responsible for sicking that giant robo spider on me though. Not cool.

Which FF had your favorite minigame?
Final Fantasy 7 and the motorcycle. I will always remember this mingame. It was so addictive. I spent so much money in the Golden Saucer arcade on that game.

(Hope you don't mind Masamune..but I borrowed your Questions)

Which FF had your Favorite Music?

Had to be FFVII..the music is haunting..Especially The Aeris Death teme..gives me goosepimples everytime..FFX opening theme is good also.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

    FFVII and FFT about a 50/50 spread...although like Masamune..I didn't like Cait Sith..but I LOVED Yuffie.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

Cloud. I like him..he's a Weak (normal) person caught up in extraordinary events. Rikku and Vincent are up there also.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

I liked FFVII's Materia setup..but i also Like FFX's Player Switching..I hated FFVIII's Magic system (Draw?). Combining 7 and 10 would be good.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

Duh, the "One Winged Angel" blows em all away.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

    Well, It's hard but..Ultimately I chose FFVII over Tactics...(i hated 8's)

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

As much as I loved Playing FFVII..it's ending was..odd...IIj sucked..Tactics was okay..Guess the best and most rewarding Is IV...V wasn't too bad either.

FAVOURITE MUSIC:i just love the regular battle music in ffX. also in ffIV in the bahamut cave when you run into behemoths the battle music is changed to regular boss music for the battle. and one winged angel from FFVII. how can you not like that?

FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: probably VI or VIII. by the time i finish ffVIII i end up crying cause it almost feels like i actually know the characters (if that makes sense). ffVI cause ive gone through the game so many times its almost like i know them, too.

FAVOURITE CHARACTER: hmmm...i would have to say Zell cause the guy would get so worked up over the dumbest things. reminds me of my friend Jamie. favourite girl would be Terra. poor girl didnt really know her parents and she was turned into a living killing machine.

BATTLE SYSTEM: first off im gonna eliminate all final fantasys where all your characters can use magic, that can make the game so easy. either Tactics cause that game REALLY made you think, therefore the battles had incredible depth to them. and ffX. you can use all your characters in one battle! it doesnt get much better than that...

FAVOURITE VILLIAN: if the *Rinoa is Ultimecia theroy* is true then that would be an awesome layout for a villian, definatly being a contender. otherwise, Kefka. so far he is the only villian that actually DID destroy the earth. and he did it HALFWAY THROUGH THE GAME!!!!!! Jecht also had a cool layout for a villian (the main characters abusive father). then there is Garland/Chaos. not too much depth to the guy, but the thing where he created a 2000 year time loop along with the 4 Fiends to make him immortal? thats just friggin awesome!

FAV STORYLINE: ffIV. an evil dark knight becomes a paladin and finds out the villian he has been fighting for some time is actually his brother. his best friend betrays him TWICE and kidnaps his girlfriend. two young twins turn themselves to stone to save your lives. your king sends you to a village to burn it down. you go beneath the earth and to the moon. you get the picture...

FAV ENDING: definatly ffVIII. every time i see it i ball my eyes out! especially when Laguna is at Raine's grave. and when Raijin gets pushed into the water and Seifer bursts out laughing. i cant help but laugh every time i see that

Definately FFVII had the best music out of all the final fantasies, i loved the boss battle music, 'Jenova absolute' and 'one-winged angel' the most.

Final Fantasy VII had the best selection of characters. To stand and look at them you wouldn't think they'd be travelling the world together....but it is fantasy...i liked all the characters from Final Fantasy VII.

My favourite Final Fantasy character is either Vivi, Auron and Vincent....i really can't decide between them....so it's Final Fantasy VII, IX and X.

Final Fantasy Tactics had my favourite battle system....i loved the little grid and the fact that hitting from behind does more damage and there was a lot more strategy involved in planning the battles...not just mash the f*ck outta the x button with attack.

Definatel Final Fantasy VII again.....it was the first Final Fantasy i played and threrfore the most memorable....i knew i'd like sephiroth because the first time you hear of him the president of the world's largest empire has a sword in his back which only sephiroth can use....there's blood on all the walls and all the guards and staff are dead too, then the next time you see him is in the flashback and he is invincible and kills dragons vertually singled handedly...cloud can't do nothing to the dragon really, then you see hear of him when a so-called invincible 30ft serpent has been impaled on a tree....truely a nice guy.....

FFVII again....no wonder why it's my fave of all the Final Fantasies, i loved the storyline and would believe it more than the time compression in FFVIII....Final Fantasy tactics and Final Fantasy VI come close second and third.

Final Fantasy VII had my favourite ending...especially the 500 years later part.

i just gotta say FFVII reigns supreme!!!

...and those who are prideful and refuse to bow down shall be laid low and made unto dust.

    1. Favourite Music?
Well, I'd have to say FFIX. I loved Melodies of Life, and I still accidentally hum it. I really like 'You're Not Alone', too...

    2. Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?
7, without a doubt. The only Fantasy where I can relate to every character, even the villains

    3. Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?
Eh, crud, this is hard. 7, once again, has my favourites, who are equal first Sephiroth and Reno. Since there's the 'villain' thing down there, I'll just say why I like Reno here. Reno's cool because he's very rogueish, but at the same time handsome. He's a really cool guy, and I love the Wutai part ^_^ (May I add that Locke and Celes are close runners-up?)

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?
Once again <sigh> 7. Materia- easiest thing I've ever used. I don't think I'll ever truly understand 10's, and 9 and 6 are too traditional and no-brainer for me. I dare not even comment about VIII (mainly 'cos I haven't played it). You really have to think about Materia.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?
    7. Sephiroth. Hands down. He's the perfect villain. You're angry with him, but at the same time you feel sorry for him. And he used to be a nice guy... (gets distracted by Sephy-chan related thoughts) Anyway, he's just the coolest.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?
7, surprise surprise. It was dark, and much more like real-life than any of the others. You could actually relate to one-liner strangers like the people living in Midgar, Costa del Sol, ect. What I'll never understand is how FF9 got a PG-13 rating and FF7 only got a G-8+, what with Don Corneo and the Honeybee...

Which FF had your Favorite Ending? Well, By default, I've gotta say IX (mainly because that's the only one I've finished ^^ I really liked it, though... but Necron was too sudden; I reckon that a hyped-up version of Graland shoul;d'e been the boss, and you shgould've had to fight with Zidane and Kujah. The bit where the party members gave eachother their power was sweet, though...

Overall, the best Fantasy is hands-down VII. I think that a lot of people agree with me in saying that VII is the true champion of video games.

    Spoilers ahead, duh.

Best Music: FF8. It was just perfect in every way. The opening score was awe inspiring, the theme and it's varients were absolutely beautiful. All the music fit the scenes perfectly and with the exception of the final castle it all stayed where it should be - in the background. No blasting into some huge score when all you're doing is walking around. It was perfect and did what music in games is meant to do.

Fav characters: FFX. While it was real close between this and FF8, the characters in FF8 were too similar. They all seemed to be average teens who reacted to the situations in remarkably human and realistic ways, but all too similar. They had personalities, but their movites were the same. FFX however had a cast about as good (Yuna sucked but eh) yet far more varied. They didn't only have their own personalities they had their own backgrounds, and just a sin real life these worked in tandem with their personalities to shape how they acted and what they said. They all had different roles, different reasons, and played them out and worked together well. In fact their companionship and interaction was about the only thing that kept me going through the game. It was also cool with the flashbacks and such that went to truly develop Auron, and play out the search into Jecht and what really made the man.

Fav character: My, now this is a hard one. I really like so many, it's very difficult. Though out of all of them I can separate them all into two groups, and then pick the best of those groups, yet I cant decide between the two. First for the serious group (talking about if I'm in the mood for a *real* character) it would be Lulu. She is basically everything that my previous fav (Quistis) was, but to the next level. She is mature, intelligent, strong, wise, and yet still has her more warm and human side that shines through. A background leader with plenty of background herself, she is really excellent all-round, and the more serious side of me identifies with the way she responds -not reacts- to the many things around her.

Yet on the other side on the more light hearted characters there is Rikku like many before her she is more apt for fun or for action, yet what I like about her is that she doesn't take it to the unrealistic extreme of so many other characters before her. This makes her outstanding (in the literal sense) yet realistic. Add to this her mechanic abilities and Al Bhed (SO COOL) heritage, and she is a very unique and wonderful character that plays closely to my more fun-loving side. So anyways I guess that comes out to FFX as well.

Fav Battle System. This is difficult, but I would give it to FF7. FF7 had the depth of newer age systems with the rewarding and progressive nature of the old school. Older games are too basic, yet newer games could quite stay balanced. In FF8 it gave you supreme control which made thigns too easy and effortless, taking the point out of battling (which led to me using Enc-None all the time) and then FFX while ingenius in so many ways (character switching *drool*, all the abilities), basically was very unbalanced. You were very weak for a long time (relying on Aeons when things got tough) then suddenly had massive power that could destroy anything. Status effects were also useless because anything weak enough to actually be hurt by them could be easily taken out by sheer strength. However Final Fantasy 7 gave you all the depth of newer games, the different magics, status spells, command abilities, and ability to mix them all together. Yet kept it all in old-school progression, rewarding you progressively for time and effort. Not only in magic growth, but in magic use and combination through weapons which progressively held more at a time. Complex but not hard, control but not overpowered, perfectly balanced and progressive. FF7 is definitely the best dispite lack of small refinements given with the current gen of systems.

Fav Villain. FF7. As someone said before Sephiroth had reasons, sure he was still nuts but he seemed far more deep, intelligent, and even yes - human, about it all. His quest for power is very human, though amplified by madness and increasing power. He started out cool and ended a different flavor of the same cool. His role through the game was far more important to everyone than villians in most other games. And plus the thing that gets him the biggest props - he offed that stupid ditz Aeris! He sure knows how to pick em, it's sad I couldnt shake his hand and thank him for that before I offed him. But yeah, she was my most hated character in any RPG, he gets MAD PROPS for that, heh. FF7 also has the best supporting villians - the Turks! they are just so cool.

Fav Storyline. FF8. Most people don't like it, though from all what I've seen it's because they didn't pay enough attention to get it. But I got it, understood the meaning, understood the characters, understood the metaphors. It's all the most beautiful love story, better than your novels or movies or other games. It's all so hard to explain but it's really great, so beautiful I got a little teary-eyed a couple times, and that really almost never happens for anything.

Fav Ending. FF8. It was the climax and tying together of everything in the game, not only that but the most beautiful CG sequence I've seen in my life. Theres not really much to say, it just finished and revealed so much at once, it's the best by far.

best music: i gotta say the best music was a tie between ff7 and 8 to be honest

best overall characters:the best ff crew was ff7 because they were a mix of weird people which made it an unusual line up

best character:well i dunno i say it has to be tidus coz he was an idiot which made it funny and his ***** arse sayins if ya run from battle

best ff storyline:well i gotta say ff7 had the best story line because it was the weirdest most confusing one

Favorite Music: Has to be Final Fantasy VI. This is when the music of the game really started to change into something legendary.

Favorite Overall Characters: A tie between VI and IX. I know IX takes a lot of crap but I love the characters in the game especially the non playable ones.

Favorite Character: Ive got a 3 way tie here. Zidane, Locke, and Squall. I know most people dont like Squall but he developed so much in the game I couldnt help but feel like we had some kind of connection. Zidane was just carefree and Lockes a bad ass and a half.

Favorite Villain - Tie between Kefka and Kuja. Kefka was just plain awesome and I felt sorry and I had an understanding for Kuja. A lot of people say Sephiroth and I just dont understand that. Ill play 7 again and see if I change my mind.

Favorite Ending - Final Fanatsy IX. It was fantastic and wrapped up most or all the loose ends (I cant remember if it got all of them). I didn't really like FFVI's ending and I didn't really like FFVII's. FFVIII's was pretty good and so was FFX's. FFIV's wasn't so great either. I havent beat FFV yet.

Best Storyline: Final Fantasy VI. I can play it over and over just because of the story. You can play time and time again and get something different out of it or play with different characters and get a new experience. Definetly the best FF ever.

Which FF had your Favorite Music?

My favourite music was from Final Fantasy VII. The character's themes suited them perfectly, virtually all of the location themes were great and Aerith's theme... well, that was just moving. I love Aerith's theme, it's beautiful.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

I'd have to say 7. All of the characters (except maybe Vincent) were well-developed and fully fleshed out throughout the game. They all had their own little sidequests ('cept Vincent) which help you understand them better. Besides, 7 is the only FF game where I like all of the main characters; in all the other games, there's at least one party member who makes me want to scream and throw things. Well, not so much in Final Fantasy 9, but I prefer 7's characters.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

My favourite character tends to change constantly, right now it's a tie between Aerith, Rufus and Yuna. Aerith because she's beautiful and brilliant in battle, and her personality is fleshed out (I wish she hadn't died, but her deathscene was also beautiful). Rufus because he's just so funny and for a side villain, he really is quite interesting. Yuna because her determination and willpower is really admirable, I love her outfit design and, well, she looks damn good ^_~

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

Hmm... a tie between FF7 and X-2. The Job system was fun in X-2, and the fast-paced battling was great, but because of it, it made the game so easy. The entire materia and complete customising system in FF7 was cool, but there should've been at least one move per character that was exclusive to them, so that there was some variation and strategizing involved in picking who should be in your party.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

My favourite big villain was Sephiroth, because he looks very cool, it was interesting how his character completely changed after Nibelheim (and interesting to think about how he was beforehand and how things could've changed) and his whole character design was very fleshed out. Plus, I loved it in the flashback when he was in the party, he was so powerful.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

I'm not sure... FFX was the one that had the most twists and turns for me. FFVIII was a very cool one (but a bit farfetched with the orphanage thing). FFVII was good, but a bit clichéd at points. FFIX was pure cliché, but in a fun way. FFIV really threw me, but I liked it. FFX-2 was a bit cliché, but there were still a few nice twists, although I think the story was a bit too customizable in some parts. Overall, probably FFX. It definitely isn't my favourite game, but it surprised me the most with it's twists.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

I haven't actually finished that many. I was very displeased with FFIX's ending, it left many loose ends, but not in a good way. I can't think about FFVII's ending now that AC is due because I was so firmly convinced everyone on the planet except for Red XIII's race was dead. I liked FFX-2 and it's perfect ending. That was sweet, I had a big grin on my face for the rest of the day.

Which FF had your Favorite Music?

FFVIII, FVII has beautiful music but the music in FVIII is to me more powerful, the musicianship is extremely good (regardless of the fact its all synthed, cept for eyes on me of course) Eyes on me is so multi layered its fantastic, so yeah FVIII for the fact that the musicianship is probably the best of all FF's and because its so powerfula nd emotive (julia is short and so so sweet)

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

This is hard because FVII has so many fantastic, memorable charcters, whether its the sheer deadly coolness of sephi, Barrets over the top MR Tisms, Clouds sheer brilliance...argh theres too many to list, but then FFVIII has characters that are awesome aswell though in a differant context...too tough too call...oh actually hold on, i tihnkt he characetrs in FFVIII gel together better than any other bunch of FF characters so going by that criteria FFVIII wins...phew

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

Can't decide, theres too many to narrow down to just one, a few of my faves from across the games are:
    Kefka FVI
    Cloud FVII
    Sephi FVII
    Vincent FVII
    Rufus FVII
    Squall FVIII
    Rinoa FVIII
    Seifer FVIII
    Laguna FVIII
Eiko FFIX (Eiko is so under rated, she's ****in wicked i love her)
    Kuja FFIX
    Steiner FIX
    Tidus FFX
    Wakka FFX
    Auron FFX
too many to mention, they're all gems

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

Probably FFVII, it was nice and simple, the summons looked good and the limit breaks were awesome

but like Cobain said with FFx-2 that battle system is lots of fun, its fast frenetic and you can play dress up aswell

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

has to be out of Seifer and Sephi, both quite similar, in fact i imagine seifer as a callow younger version of sephi actualyl...anyoen else see the resemblance??

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

FVII and FVIII, FFVIII had a real film feel about it which i really liked, i thought it was a brave move doing somethign differant and in my mind it paid off, and FFVII has just a really cool storyline, a bunch of hardcore eco warriors battle corruption and evil to save the planet they love, genius...if greenpeace were anything like Avalanche i'd sign up in a second and get my white ass a Buster sword, or maybe a gun arm :

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

FFVIII its just nice seeing the gang all back together and the fact that rinoa and squall got it together just amde me happy and warm inside, oh and also the part where you seifer and his homies is really nice too, its the kind of ending that makes you go 'awwww' oh and the stuff with laguna in the end was awesome too

talking about the games makes me want to go and play them all over again, especially FFVIII hmmm...

Which FF had your Favorite Music?
Final Fantasy VII had by far the best music, i have asked for the soundtrack every year since 1997 for christmas, and i still haven't got it, my nana, got me the FFVIII one by accident, 3 years ago, its good but not a patch on FFVIIs, i used to go to the city of the ancients just to listen to the music, i love that piece, and one-winged angel is the best thing i have ever heard
Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?
FFVII, i love the characters in this game, they looked so good, like mydako said in his first post its amazing how they all have different stories that intertwine with each other all in hoping of the common goal.
Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?
FFVII again, Vincent ~ he was an absolute master, i wish he'd be in some FMV though, the secret character bit was amazing but bad for that reason
FFIX Vivi ~ i thought he was amazing, he was so small yet so powerful, i like the mysterious look about him, as you can't see his face, like all black mages, but Vivi was the best
Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?
FFVII ~ the materia system is flawless, it works so well, you people get to absoluter badasses by the end, and there is an endless numbers of combinations you can do
FFTactics ~ i love the job class, and the strategic battlefield, it makes this game my second favourite FF after FFVII.
Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?
FFVII, No contest, Sephiroth is by far the greatest villian ever, he is so evil, the first time you hear of him, he kills the president of the world's biggest industry with a sword only he can use, then you see him in the flashback, he is invincible and kills everything effortlessly, then the third time you see him, he has impaled a giant 30ft serpent on a tree, HOW CAN YOU GET MORE EVIL THAN THAT?! his idea for destroying the world is also the most original, none of that bring war to gaia or compress time b*llshit...just destroy most of the planet consume the energy gathered to heal the planet and become an all powerful god SEPHIROTH IS AN ABSOLUTE F*CKING LEGEND!!!!
Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?
FFVII ~ immense storyline, by far the best, i still don't understand it all, everything about it was amazing, a lot of FFs have the start out small helping people, eventually you are responsible for the whole world, this pulls it off better than any other FF.
FFtactics ~ second best storyline ever, i loved the storyline, plot twists, people manipulating the war its amazing.
Which FF had your Favorite Ending?
FFVIII ~ i played FFVII first, then i got FFVIII so it was my first FF that i knew what i was doing from the beginning, i was so glad when i completed it, that i was watched in awe at the amazing FMV, the ending itself prob goes to FFVII though, it was amazing to see Aeris' face at the end.

all in all i think FFVII is the greatest computer game ever made, FFTactics is second

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?
Uh.......i would say 10. (this is an evil reason but still) because the main character never existed in the first place, making the other characters sad. Mwuahahahahaha....

    Favorite Music
FFVII. One-Winged Angel sweeps every final fantasy music category (except love song). Every aspect of the piece shows an emotion, perfectly expressed in musical form.

    Characters
FFX. Every character (in the party) was so in depth. They each had their own interesting story. I just like theirs more than most other ff games.

    Character
FFIX. Vivi!!! Man... wow.. He is so Concious about his own mortality. It's an amazing new philosophical character.

    Battle System
X-2. Just a fun battle system.

    Villain
FFI. To tell the truth, I really don't like many of the FF villains. They all seem sceptical.

    Storyline
VII!!!! Wow. Clouds past was amazing, there was the love triangle, and basically just the entrance into Clouds psyche was amazing. Never really done quite as well.

    Ending
    X. For three words. I love you. Never before said. ONly understood.

    1. FF9 had my favourite. It really fitted in with the theme of the game. And I really enjoyed it.

    2. FF7 had my favourite characters. The characters were well thought out, and really cool!

    3. FF7. My favourite characters are Aeris and Tifa maybe..

    4. FF7. Its was easy and the materia actaully fitted in with the story-line.

    5. I wasn't really into the villians, but my favourite was The Shinra.

    6. FF7 defently had the better storyline. It really confused me at times, but I loved it!

    7. FF9 had the best ending. It was really great.

Music: FF8, hands down. Force Your Way has got to be the single best boss music ever. Don't Be Afraid is the only battle music I can listen to over and over again and not get tired of it. I also am somewhat partial to the eerie Sorceress themes mid-game. And of course, who could forget the final boss suite (The Legendary Beast, Maybe I'm a Lion, The Extreme)?

Cast of Characters: FFX. Usually parties are just collections of characters thrown together for gameplay purposes. FFX's party, however, had personality as a whole. There was tension between Wakka and Rikku, Lulu was a bit condesending toward Tidus at times... the inter-character dynamics were very well thought out.

Individual Character: Squall, FF8. He was such a beautifully designed and well developed character, and his rivalry/friendship with Seifer was a masterpiece of characterization.

Battle System: FFT. The entire game was about battles. Need I say more? If so, there were many parts of the system that I loved... the strategic nature of the battles... the difficulty (when was the last time a FF was actually hard?), the parallel nature of characters and enemies (they play by the same rules you do... same max HP, same damage scale, same abilities, etc.)... the customizability (I've replayed countless times and had a drastically different party each time), and the huge range of abilities.

Villian: Hmm... I like villians who honestly believe they're good guys... or at least not bad. Villians who are being evil for their own selfish goals are no fun... In order for a villian to seem believable, I have to be able to sympathize with him, or at least understand where he's coming from. Seifer (FF8) and Wiegraf (FFT) are both very good in this regard. Even Ritz (FFT-A) was okay as far as this goes. Seymour and Sephiroth are sorta okay, but they're a bit too much on the maniacal side of things... I can't sympathize with someone who's trying to destroy the world.

Storyline: FF6. Epic... simpily epic. Moreso than FF7 in my opinion. VI is a struggle for survival against a cruel god raining destruction from his tower. VII was also very good, but it felt too... forced... (for lack of a better word)... in some places. FFT was also great, but it's really hard to tell a story in a tactics-RPG.

Ending: I don't like the endings of the older games... after you beat the final boss, that doesn't mean the world should all of the sudden become all wonderful and peaceful... (glares accusingly at FF6). I'd have to say I like FFT the best because it's very open-ended and allows for interpretation.

Final Fantasies VIII, X, and Unlimited by FAR were in posession of the greatest score. I would have an extremely difficult time trying to discern my partiality to any one of these, though. All are delightful.

I thought that Final Fantasies VIII and X had the best developmental and personality differences in the series. Again, both are too challenging to tell which is my personal favorite.

My favorite character, eh...? Hands down, Squall Leonhart of Final Fantasy VIII. What an amazing and inspiring story of change and growth this young man portrays as he goes along in the story; his boyish and confronatational rivalry with peer Seifer Almasy does not harm his reputation in the least.

...and the omnipresent and ever-controversial topic, the battle system. Mine? Final Fantasy Tactics Advance; undisputed, unswayable, imperturbable. The epitimy of enjoyment, especially when knocking one's foe off a large drop-off. Mmmyes.

I cannot say which villain was the best, mostly because I have not beaten most of the games and what little I have watched does not provide me with sufficient grounds on which to make my claim. But drawing on what little knowledge I have, I will be driven to say Sin/Jecht, from Final Fantasy X.

The penultimate reply; the storyline! Many cheers and dancings about. Final Fantasy VIII, completely and utterly. Wonderful characters, engaging story, and although somewhat partial to tangents (what Final Fantasy isn't, is my question!), utterly spectacular!

Awww... of course, how fitting to terminate this syllabus with my favorite ending. I declare this the ending to (somewhat obvious, no?) Final Fantasy VIII. Love it. There is not much to define why, save for the fact that it was the smoothest one, and did not (thankfully) leave room for ruination from a sequel. Marvelously grand.

Well, i've only played 3 FF's and haven't fineshed FF8 do to the fact that my "friend" Scratched it up like a mofo. But here i go.

Music: FF7, hell i'm listening to One Winged Angel as i type. But then again, Liberi Fatali or whatever was exelent to, so i don't know. And yet, FFX's Sad Victory, Suka de What ever the Hell it is, and the Hymn of the faith....... God Damn Usmastu's good..FF8. The Loser just gets me.

Over all, FF8 goes to that one. They all seemed like regular peole you can relate to, you know?

Fav Character: Squall. He's the lone wolf that has buried feelings. That just gets me.

Fav battle system: hmmm.. That's FFX. you're not rush, which leaves room for strategy over reaction. And the Sphere Grid rocks.

Fav villain would be Setphroth. Super Nova kicks ass.

Fav storyline would be FFX. Tidus isn't the leader, there's nothing really special about you're party, execpt for Tidus. And I just love that Under water scene with Suka whatever the hell playin' in the background.

The best Ending had to be FFX. It made me.. cry *sob*. Just... a little...

Life and death are strange things. When you look at your hands, do you think of the lives you give or take with them? Do you feel as if many lives rest upon your shoulders? Or do they end with your hand? Are you a saint? Are you a heathen? Of course not. Existence cannot be defined by such generalizations. We all live in a complex web of life, and affect it in our own ways. When we throw our stone into the water, how big will the ripples be?

What is truly more powerful and destructive; action, or idleness? Words, or silence?

    Best FF Music

Hmmm tough one but i think i am gonna have to go with FFIX i love the music building up to the ending and I love the way the music builds up the to reunited part between Zidane and Garnet and also listening to the music when Zidane is running through the woods. FFX also had good music the ending theme is the best piece of FF music i have ever heard the way it picks up at the end is amazing but to be honest every FF has a piece of music that i fall in love with (ff4 rosa, FF6 main theme Etc)

    Best set of Characters

HMM another tough one i loved FFVIII's because of the indivuality and there diffrerernt personailities and there relestic looks and also liked FF IX's too but my favourite set of characters has to be FFX i think it the voice acting that makes them seem real and that way you feel attached to them and you feel sorry for them in places.

    My Favourite Character

Easy Squall Leonheart, the guy just kicked ass he looked the hero type i was so gald he got the girl and he was just so strong and he was a leader and his attuitude was amazing that also why i liked cloud aswell another good character was Auron but my favourite will always be Squall Leonheart they guys a legend

    Favourite Battle System

Another easy one FFX's was the best actually made leveling up fun and the switching of characters made it a more tatcial game and i just enjoyed that. FF IX was also fun i liked using weapons to get abilities.

    Favourite Villian

Right i am gonna say Kuja that guy went on a killing spree and also destroyed a world and he just had that bad-ass look about him with that class dragon that he had made him look stunning also when he was in trance i actually thought i was done for. i would have said spethiroth but he was just a poor end boss.

    Favourite Storyline

FFVIII i love this game and its story it was the first FF i ever played and i loved it it is my favourite game of all time (despite strong challenges from MGS 2, FFX and PES) the thing i loved the most was its storyline the loved this kinda growing love between Squall and Rinoa and also love all the rumours outside of the game i think i could talk about FFVIII's storyline forever

    Favourite Ending

This one is a tie between FFX, FFVIII and FFIX. FFX because its amazing music and amazing CG's and its very touching part. FFVIII because i think that Rinoa finding Squall then the sky just changings is brillient. FFIX because the music when Garnet jumps onto Zidane is brilleint

Which FF had your Favorite Music
The Final Fantasy which had my favourite music had to be
either Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy IX. I loved Final Fantasy VIIs theme for when you walk on the world map. I also liked FFVIIs One Winged Angel. For Final Fantasy IX it was definatly Kujas theme. I also loved Dark Messanger.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?
The Final Fantasy that had my favourite characters overall would have to be Final Fantasy VII... Final Fantasy VII had characters that I thought were funny. Their characters also had meaning to me (.....not that way..) like when Aeris died. I felt sad. I didn't cry but I really wanted to kill Sephiroth at that moment.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?
The Final Fantasy with my favourite character in it would definatly be FFVII. Aeris. She has always been my favourite Final Fantasy and my all time favourite game character as well. Even when I've played many other games and thought the characters in those even came close I played FFVII again and saw that Aeris is still my favourite.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?
Final Fantasy VII. I loved the whole materia thing. The way you can level up your materia so that it can be even more powerful. To me that's awsome.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?
Final Fantasy IX had my favourite villain! Kuja! He's so unique and evil that's why he's my favourite. Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII comes in a close second. I liked him because he wasn't exactly.. evil.. just insane. I also liked Kuja because he isn't really all that bad. All of his life he wanted to be free from Garland. When he is finally powerful enough that he can, Garland tells him he doesn't have an eternal life and that he will die soon. I thought that was sad in a way.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?
This is a tough decision. But I would have to say Final Fantasy VII. I loved it so much I would play for hours and hours non-stop.
To me Aeris death just made the storyline better (Aeris is my favourite character.. but I have to admit.. it did). If it wasn't for her dying, Cloud wouldn't be so determined to kill Sephiroth.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?
Final Fantasy VIII had my favourite ending. I guess because of when Selphie was video taping. And I thought it was funny too. Zell... wanting a Balamb Garden hotdog day after day and not being able to have one. And then when he finally gets one... he chokes on it! Poor... poor Zell... I also like the ending because it was so detailed.. everything looked so real I.M.O.

    My 2p's worth

Final Fantasy VII had my favourite FF music. I love the songs "Lifestream" , "Clouds theme" , "Aeris theme" and the classic "Prelude". I think FF music has some great emotional music. The music was much more classical and far more darker than the other FF games I think. The music can be upsetting , uplifting , depression , sadness and joy. That is why I think the music from this game is awesome.

Final Fantasy VII had my favourite characters. The tension and veangence between Sephiroth and Cloud is spectacular. I felt the characters were developed more deeply. With the thoughts of Zack and himself (Cloud) , It helped develop Cloud in a great way. As for Sephiroth , FFVII had the Kalm scene were you think back in time. This makes Sephiroth far more developed rather than just throw him in without reference to the Nibelheim scenes. Again Tifa was realted to the Nibelheim memories , again helps create a more deeper characterisation in the character. Red XIII , you spend the Cosmo Cnyon scene learning of his history. Again concenrating and focusing on characterisation. I just felt the characters in FFVII had the most interesting stoylines and past.

This question has the same answer for favourite Villian. Final Fantasy 7 : Sephiroth : I love Sephiroth. His Evil ways , his mind games , the learning of his previous involvement with Shinra. His long white hair and black cape. His Masamune sword. His Super Nova and Pale Horse are my favourite magics and summons. His twist from Good to Evil. His insane thoughts , cruel and wicked ways. The destruction he causes. Even although Jenova impersonates Sephiroth on many occasions. It still is Sephiroth in a way , for instance when he swifty kills Aeris and smiles about it , knowing that perhaps he may have stopped the only way of stopping him , himself. His 3 stages of battle , Bizzaro , Safer and his true form are my favourite battles. Just his plain Evil games and plans are what make him my favourite character

Final Fantasy 7 again. I felt its battle system was more interesting and enjoyable to play. I like the idea and better involvment with Materia rather than Junction (for example). I like a 3 party fight , rather than a 4 party battle. I liked the way in FFVII every character could do exactly what the other characters could do also , like the ability for everyone to summon , use magic etc.

Final Fantasy 7. No other FF game compares with this one I think. The depth of characterisation in relation to the storyline is awesome. The myth of Sephiroth , the idea of Lifestream and the planet's life. The evil twists of Sephiroth. The confusing in Cloud's life. His relationaship with Aeris. The power of Good and Evil I think is best illistrated in FFVII. Not only is it viewed on by Cloud and Sephiroth , but it is personified in the Black and White Materia. The bringer of Death and the saviour of Life. The long and emotional journey the team has to bare. The twists that you just didnt see comming at all. The way it confuses you right up until the very end.

    ***[MAJOR SPOILER]***
This one is a tie I say. Between Final Fantasy 7 and 8. The ending to FFVII with the ** MAJOR SPOILER** death of Sephiroth and Cloud winning over his arch rival. The satisfaction that Cloud has FINALLY defeated him. To see the Meteor stopped by the Lifestream that is continued to be spoken about during the entire game , it finally gets the hype it is desevered for when it stops the Evil from winning. And that final scene with Aeris , when you find out since her death she has continued to stop Sephiroth.
The FFVIII ending was equally as good. The music score and ULTRA happy ending. Throughout the game Squall and Rinoa's relationship was always in danger. At the end , everything is seen to be alright and Squall did not get killed in the time displacement. To find that Laguna has found happiness with his daughter Ellone and his friends Ward and Kiros. To find that Seifer has snapped out of his evil curse and returned to his best friends Rajin and Fujin. And the video camera scene we see that again all the characters from FFVIII have found happiness. And Edea has once again become Matron and turned to the good side once again.

GOD I LOVE FINAL FANTASY !!!

Which FF had your Favorite Music?
Final Fantasy 9 had my favourite music, as their was lot of variation and my favourite piece is the music when Eiko and Dagger come together to summon Alexander, very nice melodies

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?
Final Fantasy 8 had my fav characters because they were in a way different to each other, Squall being a recluse when it came to the ladies while Irvine was a bit of a ladies man. Quistis was good as well for trying many ways to get Squall out of his shell.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?
Final Fantasy 9 had my favourite character Steiner, he was a very devoted man sworn to protect the princess with his life, he also added some humour to the game when he tried to swing to save the princess and ended up crashing into the tower. His trance armour looked cool and had good weapons throuout the game.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?
Final Fantasy 8 had a unique battle system where you could draw spells from the enemies and use it on them, a nice original idea.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?
Final Fantasy 6 had Kefka was totally mad and evil, I have said it before but I'll say it again his artwork at the end when he looked like an angel is magnificent.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?
Final Fantasy 9 had my favourite storyline as it was quite confusing at first but managed to keep it together at the end.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?
Final Fantasy 10 had my favourite ending, very nice fmv and a speech that is filled with pure emotion.

    Favourite Music:
I'm torn between FF's VII and IX, but I think I'll have to go for VII. Sephiroth's theme is quality, as is the Chocobo Racing theme. But I like Memories of Life from FFIX, but it makes me go all sad, and I'm in a depressed mood for the rest of the day.

    Favourite Characters Overall:
Probably FFVIII, as it's the only one where I ever really changed my party regularly. Normally I just choose my party, and stick with them, but FFVIII has such a wide choice of characters, in that they are all different, that i found myself changing them all the time.

    Favourite Character:
Zidane from FFIX. He's just a generally all round cool guy. Everyone seems to love him in the game, and he's got a good personality.

    Favourite Battle System:
It's undoubtedly FFVII. The materia is just such a good idea, and there are so many different types! I never really became attached to the junctioning system in FFVIII, but the way you learn abilities from your weapons and armour in FFIX isn't bad.

    Favourite Villain:
Hmmmm, a tough one. Either Sephiroth or Kuja. Sephiroth was just insane, he'd completely flipped. I like the way the story builds up the hype about him before we actually meet him. As for Kuja, I like his style, and he turns good in the end, which is a bonus.

    Favourite Storyline:
I like VII coz of its twists and the storyline is really quite dramatic. However, it could have been even greater if the makers had developed the characters better. I also like FFIX, coz of its almost fairytale script. A princess rescued from a castle by our daring hero...

    Favourite Ending:
This has to be FFVIII. The FMV is just amazing, and everything sort of falls into place at that time. The home video bit when the credits are rolling is funny too!

    Favourite Final Fantasy Aspects

    1) The Music

In terms of music, I would think that FFIX had my favourite soundtrack, largely because I felt that said soundtrack complimented the events of the story much more effectively than in other games in the series. I'm not a huge fan of the darker orchestral music that was more commonplace in FFVII and VIII, songs such as 'You're not alone' and 'Song of Memories' I feel are much more emotionally moving and have a greater effect on the player, certainly on me, to such an extent that I will play final fantasy IX so that I can listen to the music, I know I can do this anytime I want, but playing the game and watching the events of the game unfold as I listen to the music has an emotional effect on me that has not been replicated by anything before or since. One area I believe that the series has taken a huge downturn in is in the music and the soundtracks, the compositions of Nobuo Uematsu were truly inspiring and it makes me sad that Square Enix now favour the use of mainstream music such as the Leonna Lewis songs in the XIII series, songs which have no significant emotional value and no relevance to the story, over the masterworks of Uematsu. As I said i'm not a huge fan of his darker pieces, but in Final Fantasy IX, there is not one piece that I dislike. (Apart from Vamo Alla Flamenco, countless hours of hunting for chocographs and that gets damn annoying.)

    2) The Characters

In terms of characters, I would have to say that I favour FFIX once more. I have heard people who critisise the plot and characters of the game for being somewhat unimaginative, but the things that I love about FFIX are not the characters themselves, as individuals, but instead the interactions between two or three characters. Primarilly the love story that unfolds between Zidane and Garnet, but also more subtle examples such as how Zidane is constantly picking on Steiner in the first two disks and how Steiner constantly judges Zidane in Reply, and also the hilarity of how many of the characters try to determine what gender Quina is and what its motives are. Also the mini-stories that transpire between a character and another less significant character or characters, such as Vivi's interactions with the black mages in the black mage village. One thing that I do critisise though, and I do this for all Final Fantasy games, is that, out of the 8 playable characters, there are some which are much less integral to the story than others, this is one of my very few critisisms of the game, but even I have wondered, would this game by that much less enjoyable if Quina or Amarant were not in it? Obviously I disagree with this entirely, but I understand why some people do feel this way.

    3) The Individual

As the name suggests, Garnet is far and away my undisputed favourite character in the whole of the Final Fantasy Series. First of all because she is so unbelievably beautiful, I know a lot of people prefer Yuna, Rinoa or Tifa, but for me Garnet is a cut above the rest, both in her soothingly gentle face and also how her costume excentuates her beautiful body. This, in tandem with her delicate personality, the gentleness of her speech, her kindness, her ability to forgive, this all inspires and brings out emotion in me in a way that no other final fantasy character does. The epitomy of how I feel this way is in how she sings the 'Song of memories'. This song is the song of childhood and indeed of my entire life, what i'm about to say will sound very cliche and fake but I assure you it is not. This song had an unbelievable effect on me in my teenage years when i suffered from servere depression following my parents divorce, this was during a time when I had seriously considered suicide In my times of need I would put this song on my stereo, curl up in a ball, listen to it and cry my problems away, even today, years later, I still do this sometimes, and for this reason, Garnet is my favourite character, for saving me.

    4) The Battle System

No shadow of a doubt, the battle system in FFXII was by far my favourite, and is one of the reasons why FFXII is the only final fantasy game I hold in the same regard to final fantasy IX, apart maybe from FFX. Coupled with the HUGE playable world in the game, for me the totally open battle system in the game made FFXII into almost a free roam game, the only other battle system I compare this to is that which you would see in the elder scrolls games, but this of course is better because of the fact it is final fantasy. The vast number of options you get in FFXII, in terms of tactics and options makes this unparallelled in my opinion. The gambit system was something that I loved down to the ground for its intinuity and its uniqueness, and something I would welcome back to the series with open arms. The astonishing number of enemies, bosses, optional bosses and biomes in the game mean that there is no such thing as a set in stone 'best' tactic to use, and for this I loved the game because it requires a whole new level of intelligence that was never necessary in previous games in the series. I know that this is, for some people, one of the main critisms of the game, but for me, I would love to see this return.

    5) The Antagonist

Kuja was my favourite villain, partly because of his ambitions as the main antagonist of the game. An ambition to end all existance is not a new concept as far as villains are concerned, but to wish the end of existance purely because you cannot stand being a part of it is a whole new level, also, there is a certain comical value to Kuja's personality, both in the fact that he is ridiculously feminine, but also his childish tantrums that we witness at various points in the game, such as when he has a hissy fit when he learns of his finite existance. For me this was a welcome change from some of the more sinister and abstract antagonists such as Kefka, Sephiroth and Ultemicia. In a way, making Kuja rather unintimidating has the opposite effect in that it seems so much more significant when he gives in to his darker side. Oh, and also the fact that he is pretty damn tough, not many villains can destroy a planet without the use of some diabolical and non-existant weapon. Kuja can.

    6) The Storyline

Again, Final Fantasy IX, this game is primarilly about saving the world, as many Final Fantasy games are, but this is also a journey of self discovery for many of the characters. The way in which the 4 primary characters (Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, Steiner) learn so much about themselves as the storyline progresses is something I have not seen in any other game to the same extent. This is one of the main reasons why I abelive number IX to be the most significant emotionally, the way in which these four characters question their very existance and purpose in life is something that I can relate very strongly to. There are so many scene in this game that made me shed a tear as I watched them for the first, second and twenty second times (I have played through Final Fantasy IX 22 times, beat that) the scene in Madain Sari when Zidane tells Garnet that story of Ispen is one example, the scene in which Vivi walks to the cemetery to talk to No. 238 is another, there are many scenes equally and more emotionally significant to this, for me, the idea of saving the world and existance is secondary in this game, it is almost irrelevant.

    7) The Ending

No points for guessing this one, my favourite ending is that of Final Fantasy IX, call me a sucker, but this is the happiest ending of the Final Fantasy games, it is the most storybook, fairytale like, and the most cliche, despite all this, I honestly did not see it coming, this is a culmination of everything I like about Final Fantasy IX, and i'm not ashamed to say I always cry at the end. It is subtle little details that make it all the more emotionally significant, such as how Garnet originally thinks Steiner and Beatrix are blocking her way and also how she does not move to retrieve the Falcon pendant as it is snapped from her neck, I could go on and on about this and every other cutscene in the game for about 100,000 words, because there is nothing that I don't see as significant, and moving in this game, a true masterpiece in every area.

Just a word in addition, it may seem as though I have disregarded many of the other Final Fantasy games, this is not the case, I have enjoyed EVERY Final Fantasy game I have played, its just that my opinion of Final Fantasy IX is so strong, I don't feel as though any of the other games compare to it.

Which FF had your Favorite Music?

This one's a tough one for me because I generally enjoy most if not all the music in every ff game I play. Including FF12. I would probably go with FFX; the song of the fayth, To Zanarkand, and the theme in the fight with Seymor are some of my favorite. A close second would be CC:FF7, just great tracks. But again, I enjoy most of the music in every game.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

I haven't played 7, 8 or 9. From what I have played, I would go with Crisis Core. I liked all the characters who didn't have a spot in 7, like Zack, Angeal, Genesis and Cissnei. A close second would FFX; after that (12 & 13) they have pretty poor character development in my opinion.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

There's this little guy you get to meet in FF4 called Namingway; at least I think that's what he starts out been called, he changes names through out the game (like, at one point his name is Mappingway I think). I just like that little guy. There's also this one moogle called Montblanc; the ff tactics and Ivalice worlds are some of my favorite in the series, and Montblanc is one of my favorite characters for really no special reason.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

The War of the Lions. And pretty much all the Tactics games. I like that style of games. Of the mainstream titles, there isnt much variety/creativity up to FF12, and I liked that system. I also didn't mind the paradigm system in 13, I think it still allowed for a fair amount of personalization.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

FF12's Gabranth is one of my favorite's. I liked his story and his loyalty.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

The War of the Lions. Its got a darker story line than the usual FF and it felt like very much a different style of game to me.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

I would have said CC:FF7 because it was pretty sad, but at the same every one knew it was coming. So I'll go again with War of the Lions because it was interesting to see how things turned out for many of the characters.

Which FF had your Favorite Music?

I would defnitely have to say FFVI. From the opera scene to the final battle, the music was not only of high quality, but also fit every situation perfectly.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

Overall, my favourite cast was in FFX. I think that each character was not only well-developed, but also well-devloped over a good amount of time, rather than rushing in an entire bio in five minutes. It seems that in some games you know everything about a character within the first few minutes: their past, their motives, their inspiration. I believe that FFX is different because you don't discover these things until the characters become closer and begin to trsut each other a little more. It gives the whole thing a very [I]real[I] feel.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

My favourite character is Seifer, of Final Fantasy VIII. To be honest, I couldn't tell you why-I guess he's just really cool. ^_^

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

For battle systems I like FFIX's the best. Although most people I know are into the heavy customation of FF's like V, I believe when a character comes with set abilities it definitely helps to build a character just as much as any FMV. For instance, Zidane's "steal" ability cements him as good-spirited but at least somewhat misguided member of Tantlus that he is. It makes him come off almost as Robin Hood. This same idea also applies to FFVI, but I think FFIX is cooler.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

My favourite main villain is probably Kuja. Although a little on the fruity side as far as choice of dress goes, I think his motives and actions are, although still sinister, make you unable to help feeling sorry for him. I also found that by the end of the game he was made out to be a hero more than a villain, with Zidane going as far as thanking him. His personality is defnitely a ten as well, combining a hint of Kefka's insanity with debonaire confidence of Sephiroth.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

This one is a tie for me. FFVI, as the transition to an almost purely storyline-based generation of games, was fantastic for both it's originality and simply the way it was revealed, again, over time. As you can probably tell I don't like my games to feel "rushed". The other winner would be FFX. Again, although most of the FF storylines are awesome, FFX is put on another plain based on how well it plays out. I think that this can make or break a game. For instance, despite what others may think, while FFV's storyline was pretty bad, I honestly believed that if it played out a little differently (while keeping the same basic aspects) it could be just as good as any other.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

I really enjoyed FFVI's ending more for the way it was presented than the actual content. As far as the latter is concerned, however, my favourite ending was that of FFX. I think it was the perfect cap to what I feel to be the almost perfect game. Most was revealed, while still leaving a few things up to the imagination. This combination made for a great ending.

Which FF had your Favorite Music?

I would have to say that this criteria would be fulfilled by VIII, on the account of that it had real quality classical moving music, whereas VII's was a bit 'synthy' VIII sounded really quality. but i must make a special mention of the quality voice acting in FFX - i thought it would be dissappointing but it is superb.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?

eer, this one would have to be VII - you had cloud, who everyone could just relate to, and had awesome hair, barret who epitomised unremanding faith and loyalty, vincent who was surrounded by mystery and was intriguing, cid who was the bravado gung-ho type who just added fun to the game, aeris who was the quiet type who you felt a great love for, and tifa who had your sympathy and she would only ever be number 2 to cloud.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?

my favourite character is cloud from VII, as he is someone you can really feel for and relate to, and when aeris dies, it sounds lame but you almost feel his upset, but that is testament to squares amazing scriptwriters who did a fantastic job on VII

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?

i would actually say X - the Sphere grid is a very good idea, and allows greater charachter variation than ever before - however on the other hand if you have the time and the energy you can simply make every character have every ability - the collecting items to customise weapons is also superb, and adds depth to a great game

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?

VII again - with sephiroth - he was surrounded by such mystery, and the character design was second to none, they certainly know how to make a really cool looking character at square, and sephiroth was really aided by the superb storyline, as you really wanted to defeat him at the end.

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?

good lord it will have to be VII again - it had a very engaging storyline which you really got into, and you actually wanted to complete the game with a real desire because the storyline had sucked you in to such effect that you had to see how it ended - the storylines of all the FF's since really have paled in comparison

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?

VII YET AGAIN - the ending is phenominal - i mean hands up who was expecting an ending of that quality? and it was so unexpected, when aeris comes up with the life force just when you think that all is doomed - its was a worthy ending to the greatest game of all time

Favorite Music: Final Fantasy VII- The Music in final fantasy VII variated all throughout the game. The music of Sephiroth sent chills down my spine every time that bell rang, and Aeris' music when she dies is very deep and almost makes you sad. The music captivated each part in the game and fitted it very well.

Favorite Characters: Final Fantasy VII- The characters in final fantasy VII came from every corner of the world for one purpose and the variation in their personalities is what made the game great. The ill-tempered Barret, the foul-mouthed Cid, and the mysterious Vincent. And even though they came from all over each one had a connection with another character.

Favorite Character: Final Fantasy X: Tidus- Tidus was my favorite character of all the final fantasies so far becaus he was loving, and yet not too much to the extreme (Squall), and yet he was strong but not too much to the extremem (Cloud). Also the fact that he played blitzball and had very tyte hair gave him my vote for best final fantasy character ever.

Favorite Battle System: Final Fantasy X- This one has no competition in my opinion. The experience system was dropped, the level system was dropped, and the turn base system was dropped. The sphere grid gave you freedom and yet gave them a path to keep them on track. Also the ability to finally break 9,999 was a major plus for me, just the limitation on damage in the previous final fantasies made the boss' ten times harder no matter how strong you were. And the summon ability is using the basic idea from FF8 only they stay in the fight.

Favorite Villian: Final Fantasy VII: Sephiroth- This villian was a clouded mystery which is unveiled slowly throughout the game, yet they give you some background on him and where he fits in. He was always calm, intelligent, and chaotic which gave him the perfect combination for the villian.

Favorite Storyline: Final Fantasy X- This one was tough, I was deciding between FFX and FF7. FF7 has a good plot with all the pieces fitting together piece by piece and your understanding of the game grew as you progressed. Also it wasnt focused on love (FF8) or just plain destruction, but it had to much chaos in one world. There was no peace. Yet FFX mixed the storyline it placed the pieces, but you couldnt put them together until you got the whole story which made everything come together. Not to mention it mixed a love story with a world of chaos being rebuilt.

Favorite Ending: Final Fantasy VIII- The ending for FF8 first cleared a couple things visually and yet made you think squall was dead when he was out cold in the field. Yet at the VERY end it shows him appear and him and Rinoa kiss. And it shows some humor with zell eating and choking and then throwing the food at the camera and the mood was happy. Perfect

Which FF had your Favorite Music?
Final Fantasy X. Sure, FF8 had a great sound track, but I loved FFX's better. Suteki Da Ne had a great rhythm to it and singing. The world music was also great. When I was traveling to Djose, I was enjoying the music as I was running around like an idiot. There was also the short broken-record music of danger music, when its goes Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun when your in trouble. It made my heart race, unlike other FF music.

Which FF had your Favorite Characters Overall?
Final Fantasy VI's Character Cast. Without a doubt, FFVI had my favorite characters. They had a blended variety of characters. Celes a solder, Terra an Esper/Human, Sabin the muscle head, Edgar the pimp, Cyan the noble swordsmen, Gau the crazy as kid, Strago the old man , Relm the artist, Setzer the gambler, Gogo the mysterious mimic'er, and Shadow the silent Ninja. Look at this variety of characters. It went from Muscle to a paint brush! I loved the selection of characters in this Final Fantasy.

Which FF had your Favorite Character, and who is it?
Final Fantasy VI's Celes Chere. She had the heart, courage, and strength. Not to mention that she also looked great for a sprite . Even though people don't use her skill "Runic". I found it pretty useful fending against magical attacks, but it also took lucky and guess. Celes did pretty high damage for a Spell Caster. Especially when I equiped "Jewel Box", A magic power up, and that one sword that steals mana. She would heal, and cast Ultima like MAD. Courage? She was a double agent. Sneeking into the evil side and pretending to be one of them. But actually saved the party, and gave information. Her character developement was also kind of mysterious like Terra's.

Which FF had your Favorite Battle System?
Final Fantasy X. No competition really. The Sphere Grid was unique, you actually needed to find items to gain access to higher magic skills. Each character could gain specific spheres, or gain them all. You could customize your character totally. You chose wether they used an Agility Sphere or a Power Sphere, all depended on you. There is also the Gameplay, it was amazing. Switching in and out, so you never left a character out. When one is about to die, you just switched another in. Using Strategy against a monster or boss determined which characters you switched in and out.

Which FF had your Favorite Villain, and who is it?
Final Fantasy VI's Kefka! That mad man was just amazing. His laughter made you laugh, his Schemes were brilliant, his clothes were unique . All the madness of evil and comedy into one super villian!

Which FF had your Favorite Storyline?
Final Fantasy VII. FFVII contained the childhood story, then Cloud, the main character, telling he will be the best of the best. Looking up to Sephiroth as his role model. Also some moments between Tifa and Cloud. Sephiroth being confused about who he was, the Ancients, it was just a nice and complicated storyline with a nice twist. FFVII kept be occupied all the way. Went from Shinra trying to suck the planet to death, to a Big Meteor about to crash into the planet. The story just changed so smoothly.

Which FF had your Favorite Ending?
Final Fantasy VI. Well since I don't remember most of the endings of all the FFs. With FFVII and FFX's open ending, my choice would be FFVI. Why? Because depending on who you had in your party determined the end. Providing more choices and selections for the endings. The ending was also original in a way. Showing the characters trying to escape from the falling tower. You get to see several different moments of their escape depending on who was in your party. Just a classical ending for me.
