Hitboxes on the head aren't that small, especially in Call of Duty. The problem is ping, what you see isn't what everyone else is seeing. The game collects all if it at once and makes its judgement. Thats why if you go back in theater and watch it over again it will usually show something different than what you experienced. I say usually because there are always exceptions.

I just learned that Borderlands isn't hitscan, so that might have been my problem.
