Crisis Core ends at the same point where VII begins, as for time and span of it's story, I would say one, max two years before VII, I might be wrong though, it's been a while since I played Crisis Core.

Zack and Aerith had such a lovely relationship, if she indeed saw anything in Cloud it's part of Zack for sure.
