Mike had family. We know he has a good relationship with his granddaughter, and I'd assume he has some sort of relationship with the girl's parents. When the DEA are coming for him, Mike has to leave the park without saying goodbye to his granddaughter, and then all of a sudden goes missing. That seems like enough of a reason for somebody to start looking for him. I think it makes sense for Walt to dispose of the body.

FAKE EDIT: Also, great half season, I hate this damn show for making me wait until next summer to see what happens between Walt and Hank.
