Yeah, I didn't mean to call you out or anything, I just wasn't sure if you were aware of the policies. You can do whatever you want. I would have followed procedure, especially because I'm assuming the conversation between the two would have been perceived as non-threatening despite the circumstances. Especially when you'd hear what he wanted from the register.

"I could call this guy out for not having a gun, or I could follow procedure, keep my job, and nobody gets hurt anyway." Win.
