Your theory is a sun flare? Sun flares occur every day, and not a single one of them has ever come close to ripping anything out of the atmosphere. Needless, although ozone does absorb UV light, it isn't large enough to provide soul protection.

Moreover, it's the mass of the atmosphere, as well as earth's magnetic field, which provide protection against the majority of UV light.

Anyway, if sun flares did manage to rip apart the ozone layer, new ozone would be repleted near instantly. And if the ozone somehow magically didn't replenish, there would still be plenty of protection from radiation. Earth is like a well-guarded fortress. Nothing can get in.

Do I really seem like the kind of guy who quotes things? Ozone is a hazardous material, and therefore qualifies as an area of my specialty. If I didn't know what I was talking about, I wouldn't have brought it up.
