Scary fact: fifth largest earthquake that we know about, ever.
I think it's an absolute miracle that we are sending rescue teams and not industrial vacuum cleaners.
Oh, and the way the Richter scale works: it's not linear. The two earthquakes we've faced in NZ over the last months were 7.1 and 6.3 (I think). This was an 8.9 (last I heard), but was 8000 times more powerful. Again, a freaking miracle.


























however considering the fact that they have very efficient building codes it's no big deal.
The death toll is not bad at all considering Japans population density. It is true though the Nuclear Power Plant leaks and their possible explosions is the scarier matter here. I just hope that some loli and guro lovers died in the incident.
