I just finished and platinum'ed New Vegas... it was alright. I prefer Fallout 3 on a few other levels, but it was a blast. I'm just being bitter because of the mess New Vegas is at the moment. ><
I found the Firelance weapon on my first character, and was my favourite gun until I found out I had less than twenty ammo for it, and I had nothing to repair it with. I never used it again on that character. On my next playthrough, and every run I've done since, I've never been able to find that random encounter again.Originally Posted by Rydia Lover
Also, I'm pretty sure you can find an Alien Blaster at the alien crash site... I can't remember where exactly it is, but it's just north of a radio tower place. Quite a way north between Megaton and Scrapyard, I think. Might have to look it up if you're still curious/if you haven't found one already.
Point Lookout was pretty awesome. Unfortunately, it froze a lot with me, and walking through certain areas was a complete nightmare for me. The first town area you get to when you get of the ferry wouldn't even let me take a step without a crash.Originally Posted by Pete
Also, Zeta froze a few times, but not as much for me. Only problem I had was storage - I wanted everything I could find. =(
The Terrible Shotgun. I rarely changed weapons when I got hold of this beast, and I had LOADS of shells by the time I got it. One or two headshots with that baby on a Deathclaw, and it was over. Otherwise I used a Chinese Assault Rifle. After Point Lookout, the Fire Axe became a good friend of mine too.Originally Posted by smurphy
As for the armour... I used the Wanderer's Leather Armour. After Operation Anchorage, I went MGS and used the Chinese Sneaking Suit and used the sword. Much fun. I really liked the Medic Power Armour roo.
I was really boring and stuck to the same stuff throughout all playthroughs. I worked on Medical, Repair and Science mostly, and kept Barter, Lockpick and Speech as secondary. I sent spare points to the gun areas I used most too.Originally Posted by Telegraph
I was a big explorer too, and found lots of joy when I found unmarked sidequests. I knew what the ending was going to be like pre-DLC, so I packed in everything before I even spoke to Free Dog (?). xD
I wouldn't say Elder Scrolls is like Demon's Souls, but I suppose both have similarities. Oblivion is dead between Fable and Demon's Souls in my opinion.Originally Posted by DragonHeart
I say it's a good game, and will burn many hours. It's doesn't have a strong story, but there's loads to do otherwise and is a lot of fun (VATs is very humorous with the Bloody Mess perk if you like a bit silly gore). It doesn't really play/feel like a FPS that much, and is pretty friendly if you're new to that style of gaming.
Post. And a half.
