In a word, Lost Odyssey. That's what FF15 needs to do. Lost Odyssey has been the best Final Fantasy in years. As for specifics on what it SHOULD have, I' don't so much care. Some things you jsut know are going to be there, like Chocobos and certain abilities andcrap. Personally, I kinda like it when the basics are all they really have in common. This is not to say I like when they decide to completely reinvent the wheel and slap the FF label on it to attract consumers, I hate that beyond words. But I like when they go off and do something unique in terms of story. Like 7, huge change from all that came before it, though that change did kinda start with 6. then 8 was a great change, story was alot more complex and open to interpretation, I loved that. 9 was nice because it went back to the older games. It's good to revisit those old themes and good memories from time to time, as long a we aren't just rebuying the same game every few years. 10 I loved, story took an entirely different turn, they brought back something familiar like summons, bt took a whole new spin on it. They did alot right with 10 in terms of what they changed and what they left alone, alot of the newer games could've taken a lesson there.

What I DO know, is what FF15 should NOT have.
  • Bullcrap sci-fi garbage. Yeah, semi futuristic is fine, like 7 or 8 futuristic. Even 10's future (before sin came down and obliterated all the scifi) wouldn't have been TOO bad, but 13, that was waaaaaay too much scifi.
  • Online of any kind. No. Period. Learn from the first two failures, do't try it again. If you want to release an FF MMO< give it its own spinoff series like tactics or something, don't slap the numbered series' good name all over that pile of shit.
  • New systems, new systems everywhere! NO GOD DAMNIT. The same stuff worked for over a decade, why all of a sudden do you feel it isn't enough and needs to be changed? Have you guys not noticed yet that an overwhelming majoriy of the people who've been buying your games for the past decade have been perfectly OK with the same basic formula? There's a reason for this: The basic formula was GOOD. Quit trying to fix what isn't broken.
