Another possibility: perhaps Rocky and his friend have opposite tastes in women. Perhaps Rocky's definition of a hot girl is completely opposite than that of his friend's. Maybe he thought he was going to have to bang a double bagger if he stayed. I'd make up a crappy excuse to get out of that.
