I think people ask it only because their trying to get their own opinion out there, just saying that to make sure they don't sound egocentric XD

Turning the coin: it could be egocentric to not care about what others say especially when there is no reason for such a behavior. It wouldn't make for a good first post in a thread to say "I like having sex in unique places", list them off, share some details and end the post like that. What would the would-be-responders respond with? "Cool story bro or gal". "Your sex life is lame, here is mine".

Because I like to feel important, and I like to think that people care about what I think... because I have no life.

You have a decent stat in charisma making you more well known (existence wise) to me and I like reading what other people have to say because what other people think can be very interesting and I like to know what other people are thinking. I gather information like I gather the SPICE!!!!!
