Prostitution is legal where I live. Which is important. It goes on whether we legalise it or not. Better to acknowledge it, and regulate it to protect the rights of women (and men) - including the compulsory use of contraception while using the services of a prostitute.

As to whether I agree with prostitution in itself... not really. It reinforces patriarchy, and is probably symptomatic of other social ills. But I'm not going there now.

Um, yeaaah. I'm going to go ahead and...sort of disagree with you there. You did go there, and I don't think prostitution has anything to do with that. There are male prostitutes as well (gigolos if you will). You are far too feminist.

But I do agree with your first statement. "Better to acknowledge it, and regulate it to protect the rights of women (and men)", and I'm glad you included men in that.
