More guests were coming in. Keybalder recognized the faces, nothing more. As he wandered the ballroom he said a quick hello to the others.
As he walked back to the bar after greeting Dodie, he ordered a Elixer, on the rocks. It was going to be a long night.
"Hm, Dodie's dress was quite stunning, red was a good choice. That was the pure red you see in the eyes of a Behemoth before it impales you through the hea.....wait what the F@# am I thinking!!?!?!?!" He always got like that when he felt trouble coming, and yet all was fine. The music was playing, dates were meeting up, even the moogle servants were happily darting between the guests, serving appetizers.
"Gues I'll just get some more food," Keyblader sighed as he walked back to the serving tables."
About fifteen minutes later, Keyblader couldn't help but think, "Am I just eating because I'm bored? I already demolished a plate of sandwiches and half a bowl of white chocolate truffles. What's wrong with me, I need to find someone to dance with...."
Keyblader always loved to dance waltzs and tangos and those sort of things. However he was never lucky enough to find someone to dance WITH. He always carried his good luck charms, a pack of cards in his pocket with the Ace of Spdes, the Two of Hearts, and the Jack of Clubs in his shirt pocket whenever a formal event was occuring. Hopefully tonight would be different.
As he walked back to the dance floor he heard a huge ruckus near the front doors.
"Tonight is going to be fun boys! Now where the hell can we set this keg up at?”
"Ah F@#$, not him," Keyblader said out loud. It was Meier, a member of what Keyblader liked to call the Mod Squad.
"Ugh, can't he be even a bit classy? I'm no snooty rich boy, but there is a time for a frat party and a time for a ball, and this isn't a f@#$ toga party," Keyblader said to no one in particular.
At least he had someone to watch as the party went on. He knew the rest of Meier's gang of degenerates will be right after him, and they will try something. He tipped a passing moogle to inform him of anything suspicious. The night had hardly begun and he still wanted to dance...
