I see where you are coming from - mainly from watching my friends Cem and Priya make a complete and total mess of things, but my own experiences as well I guess.

It took me a while to realise I need to find out who I am before having a proper relationship. When I started college, I told myself that no matter what, I didn't want to have any kind of relationship with a guy or girl until I was sure that I was either ready for it, or had the right feelings. But everyone else has the other idea - college is for screwing eachother over and over until you are either up the duff and broken hearted, or just broken hearted. Situations like that are complete shite.

So in that case... I think you are doing the right thing. You never know - maybe a year or two down the line, something might happen between the both of you. Could turn out to be the best move of your life.
