    J-Rock/Pop?

Ok, so I'm getting into more and more Japanese music, and just wondered if there are any other bands I'm missing out on.

    I already like:
    Dir En Grey
    MUCC
    Boris
    Gallhammer
    Lost Eden
    X Japan

are there any more that anyone can recommend?

I really like Asian Kung Fu Generation, Maximum the Hormone, Black Mages, Fire Bomber, JAM Project, and my personal favourite, Masaaki Endou.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Black Mages. I had listened to Force Your Way before, and that was amazing, but I've only just checked out more.

Thanks for those, I just checked them all out, Masaaki Endo are pretty amazing, and so are Fire Bomber

Could somebody please tell me when Boris became a J-rock or J-pop band? Last time I checked, they were a pretty good Japanese Experimental band. Not J-pop. Not J-Rock.

Good Japanese acts: Ruins, Merzbow, Melt-Banana, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. There are others. I can't think of them at the moment.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

My favourite ones are Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru and Gackt. At the moment my favourite song is: Mirrorcle World - Ayumi Hamasaki.

Obviously, I like the Black Mages as well. I have all their albums and I love to hear their music from time to time.

Try out L'arc Enceil, LM.C, Flow, and Kelun. They're nice sounding bands with upbeat-ish songs. I don't know if that's what you like, but those are just the ones that I offer to you.

    Dir en grey is amazing.
D'espairsRay is a really good band, they bounce from J-rock to metal through most of the songs.
I heard one called The Underneath, but couldn't find anything out about them.

As far as J-Rock goes, I'm absolutely in Love with Sambomaster.
They're an extremely amazing group, and all their music makes me happy.

I also like Jinn, not as much as Sambomaster, but they're very good as well.

I don't think anyone mentioned Miyavi, Girugamesh, or Hyde -- Hyde has re-invented himself again with a duet named Vamps album release date is set for June 09.

Alice Nine - Vandalize album, is already out.

Well my knowledge of termenology fails me but I am assuming(dont laugh) that J-rock would mean Japanese?

If it is so, then the only two that really jump out at me are the Pillows and Gackt.

Redemtion is the only Gackt song I have herd and ill admit it was only beacuse it was on DOC but I really do like it and I thoght about looking up some more of their songs.

As for Pillows, My favorite song is somewhere between Ride on Shooting stars and Little Buster. I also liked I think I can, good song and the opening gituar part is cool.
