Haha! French Presidents have always been my favourites. Have you ever studied the history of the EU, going back to the EEC and EEA days? De Gaulle was hilariously bad back then. He'd do things like set up entirely new, doomed to fail France/Benelux organisations just to try and make the British annoyed. And then insult them. And then ask to be back in their club. And then make a whole new thing with Benelux when he got annoyed again.

I wish the BBC were better. So much of their stuff is biased these days, and they've developed a tendency towards reporting American news like it's British news - I mean, I know New Orleans was in danger again, but should that really take precendence over news about Darling's mental speech and its effect on the pound? In the UK, I don't think so. I'd like to see more of our news. I promise you, that's not just latent anti-Americanism. I just don't see why their news is more important to our national news service than ours is.

Even Channel Four News sent Jon Snow to the Conventions in America, and it was their headline too. I know that their election is important to everyone, since they are the hegemon and the outcome of their election will invariably impact on our lives in some way (GO OBAMA). But still.

Let's take back the BBC...somehow. Refuse to pay the TV licence? Picket their building, send some Angry Letters that might get read out on that Your Views show they put on at 3am on BBC 2 sometimes (I love that show, by the way. All the letters from old biddies complaining about the vulgar language in Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Haha).
