God, i love this band, i saw them October 2007 in Glasgow and it was the best concert i have ever been to. Honest to god, they sound EXACTLY like thye do on the albums!!
John Petrucci is amazing live, sometimes he just goes into these incredible solos that take your breath away (even if they're not in the song they are playing). Portnoy's simply incredible on the drums, the damn thing must have taken up half of his body and he plays with such energy and enthusiasm.....
The best thing is that they really try to make you feel part of the entire concert and give you as good an experience as possible. If you can, i really recommend you see them.
Metropolis Pt2 was a fantastic Album, one of the best i have ever brought, it told a story rather than just a mishmash of songs. "Finally Free" was an amazing song i thought and really thought it summed up the whole album for me.
Album wise i have... Octavarium (the entire album was so brilliantly thought through), Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (Not bad, but not as good as the others), Metropolis Pt2 (one of the best albums ever), and Systematic Chaos (this gets played loudly in the car alot).
My favorite song is Octavarium, it's just so clever in execution.
