If by 'someone' you mean 'alcohol' than yes. But then it was the seller's fault for asking in the first place.
I mean seriously, the legal age here is 18 but everyone drinks by around 12 or 14 or something. If someone asks how old you are and not for your ID, of course you're gonna say '19 mate'. Well saying '18' is just a little too obvious, and naturally you wouldn't be able to pass off as too much older. Luckily for me I've always been a tall lad.

If you mean as far as women are concerned, why the hell bother? Not like anything really changes other than the age of consent (which is generally a joke around here anyways due to authorities not really giving a damn unless either the magical word 'RAPE!' is yelled, or someone's parents really spit up a storm) and being 10 years older doesn't make you more of a person. If anything it's an indicator that you'll die sooner rather than later or something. Or that you suffer from some stereotypical age issues such as the horror that is impotence.
