So, on adult swim now, they just showed the first episode with Renji and Byakuya, finally. I watched this episode and the episodes after it again today at my friends' house. This post is mostly going to be in spoiler, but...

What the hell is up with Renji? At first, he's all like "I'm gonna kill you, Rukia! Wa ha ha!" and he totally tried to cut her the hell up. He also told Ichigo "you'll die here, and Rukia will go back to Soul Society and die as well." Then later, he tells Rukia "You don't want to get into any more trouble than you're already in!" As if it can get any worse than execution... and then even later, he's totally surprised that she's gonna die, and eventually will do anything in his power to save her.

Point A to Point B... how?! And why was he surprised that she would be executed when he himself was trying to kill her?!
Sorry, it just bothered me. Anyhoo...
