Hey guys, just wanted to give a public heads up and let you know that our review for FFXHD should be posted tomorrow evening.
It's fairly fleshed out, but the time between receiving the game (Friday morning last week) and the embargo being lifted (Monday morning this week) was simply not enough to gather thoughts for an appropriate review, let alone even access any of the International edition content that is new to the NA market, aside from the Expert Sphere Grid (which I am adoring, despite its difficulty).
Unfortunately, my retail job was kicking my ass all weekend long and I had some long-planned social requirements over the weekend regarding birthdays and the sort. I'll go ahead and note that the HD upgrades are fantastic and honestly my favorite thing about the whole title is the audio. That's usually a big hot button with me, as can be seen from my previous review and recent editorial. (And no, they still don't address "him" by any sort of name, except for in the new 30 minute audio drama that tells a story after the perfect ending of FFX-2.)
Once I have dealt with more of the International content in a hands-on manner, I will feel comfortable finishing and posting our review. Just wanted to let you know that we definitely got on the train for this one too and it's probably one of the greatest HD remakes I've come across.
