I'd have to wonder then if the cable would make a difference. Would an SD signal running through an HDMI cable look worse than through RCA cords?

I just don't really see why an emulator would have worse (or better for that matter) visuals than the real deal. Sound, I can understand, performance, I can certainly understand, but I don't see why the visuals would be different. Who knows though, perhaps you're correct.
