Level 5 developer, known for Ni no Kuni, Dark Cloud and White Knight Chronicles confirmed today during a livestream, that they have plans to announce a new game they are working on for the PS4. The announcement they said will be at the next E3 in 2015. While no other details are known about the game, Level 5 is known for RPGs, making it likely that this will be their next RPG. Level 5 President said during the livestream that he wants it to exceed White Knight Chronicles.

Glad see that I'm not the only excited one. Still wish the White Knight games did better, but they were still a lot of fun. Wish you could do some local or ad-hoc now that the servers are shut down. People will miss out on the fun of the multiplayer.

Wow, that's a pretty awesome tease! Dark Cloud 2 was a lot of fun (great music, too!). I have fond memories of that game. Not so much of the first game, but definitely DC2. So I am hoping they announce another DC game.
Since I've been so out of the Sony game for the past decade, I incorrectly assumed Level 5 had folded, were absorbed by some larger developer or simply stopped making RPGs, for some reason. I just wasn't thinking about them, I guess. Out of sight, out of mind. Good to hear they're still around making RPGs.

Oh goodness, no. Level 5 is responsible for the Professor Layton series as well - they've had their plate full between that and more traditional RPGs on the PlayStation brand.

Not to mention this has been their best years yet with Yokai Watch becoming one of the best selling games in Japan for the year. So Level 5 is actually sitting near the top right now.
