Back to Alexandria? WTF!

I'm at the part where the king and the girl want to go back to Alexandria and talk some sense into the queen. The thing is, I know for sure the queen is already too corrupt and will screw them over big time. This is where I'm frustrated with the storyline so far. My senses tell me this will be a device plot where stuff will again go out of hand and there'll be more useless and linear escape and survive scenarios to follow.
