I don't care how low quality it is, I happen to thoroughly enjoy RuneScape. It's pretty big on the free version, but really massive when you step up to membership.

In fact, A lot of MMOs that used to charge a subscription fee have recently gone free to play. Everquest, Everquest II, Lord of the Rings Online, Dynasty Warriors Online. I could go on for hours.
