    Anime

    Hey Guys
I'm a real big anime fan i probably follow any i can find in HD and english.

    Currently watching:
    1: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (52/64)
    2: Angel Beats! (14/14)
    3: Tears to Tiara (26/26)
    4: Witchblade (0/24)

    Going to see soon:
    1: Soul Eater (0/?)
    2: Rin ~Daughters of Mnenosyne~ (0/6)

My favorite so far was Angel Beats only 14 eps but it was hilarious.

Can you guys please give me some new suggestions cuz i'm dieing to see new ones.
Bleach, Naruto and dragonball never really caught my attention cuz i just find them boring.

Something else i follow alot are Tobuscus/tobyturner/tobygames video's and i've bought a signed poster and a sweater and i've met him in real on the E3

Edit: I'll also add which episodes i got and which ones i don't OVA's are counted as episodes

    Witchblade
    Basilisk
    Trinity Blood
    Samurai Champloo
    Outlaw Star
    and Chrno Crusade

There are many more, but I can't think of them right now, hope this helps

I recently bought the series collection, it was a good buy. I also got the backstory stuff that came from the comic. It was one of the saddest animes I've seen, but soo good!!!

    Re: Anime

Haven't really watched any new anime for years. So the anime I've watched, from favorite to least favorite, are

    1. Ranma 1/2
    2. Zatch Bell!
    3. Full Metal Alchemist. You know, the one before the reboot.
    4. Lucky Star
    5. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
    6. InuYasha
    7. Yu Yu Hakusho
    8. Trigun

Some of those I've only watched a few times in total, but I liked them.
Please read the poetry from two great friends of mine. May they find peace.

    Re: Anime

If you're up for a good laugh then I suggest Golden Boy, it's rather short, only five episodes, though every episode is nothing short from brilliant. I would throw Samurai Champloo in there as well even though it's more action packed. As for something more serious, GunGrave's number one on my list, I would dare to call it anime version of Godfather. Death Note ain't that bad either, it's mind boogling to say the least.

If you prefer your anime a bit gory, Rurouni Kenshin just might be the right choice. It's excellent, even better if you decide to watch both OVA's prior to main anime. If by any chance you skipped Studio Ghibli's work, I suggest getting right on it, I had hard time finding the right word to describe their movies, amazing will have to do for now. I suggest watching My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away among others.

Here are few more I think are at least decent:

    - Full Metal Panic!
    - AppleSeed
    - Cowboy Bebop
    - Fruits Basket
    - GunDam Seed
    - Jin Roh - The Wolf Brigade
    - Samurai 7
    - Speed Grapher
    - Afro Samurai
    - Vampire Hunter D, both movies
    - Zone of the Enders Dolores,i
    - Ghost in the Shell
    - Vision of Escaflone
    - Ten-Jou Ten-Ge

I've seen Fruits Basket countless times, and with every session it only gets better. It's one of those anime that gets to you, huge recommendation. Vampire Hunter D movies are rather good, second one in particular. First had terrible voice acting, but all in all it's a decent movie. Afro Samurai is somewhat weird, bit short, but impressive nevertheless. Main character is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. You heard of it if by any chance you missed to watch Cowboy Bebop, it's excellent, I also suggest Cowboy Bebop the Movie. Vision of Escaflone is great as well, though you may not like the movie, it's rather strange, even for those who watched the series first. Full Metal Panic! is great mecha anime, probably the best I've seen, it has a great mix of comedy, and action. GunDam Seed ain't that bad either, there are quite a few boring parts I'm afraid, still, it's one of the best in it's franchise. Ghost in the Shell is a classic really, I've only seen the movie, it's look really great considering the age it was made. Speaking of classics, I have to mention Akira, it's icon among anime movies, though I personally find it to be rather dull.

Forgot to mention, do avoid Final Fantasy Unlimited. Though it contains Final Fantasy title it shares little to nothing with this great franchise, it has a goddamn awful story, terrible characters, and it's way too repetitive.

While I'm at it, avoid Gantz as well. I'm not sure about manga as I have yet to read it, but the series is pretty bizarre, it features a weird story full of unnecessary gore, and hentai scenes. Then again, this is just my personal opinion, who knows, you may end up liking both Gantz, and Final Fantasy Unlimited.

    One word....

    Spiral

That anime will drive you insane, it's like Death Note, only multiply it by 100, then subtract 10, and multiply by another 100. Definitely one of my favorites to watch.

Another one I would recommend is Hunter X Hunter, definitely up there with the top 5 anime I ever saw.... and I've watched over at least 50 or 60 animes...

I can see how that would clog up a thread. I wasn't thinking about it until after we had done that.

    Re: Anime

I'm quite new to Anime, but there are a few good ones that I have watched that I would personally recommend.

Clannad is one that stands out for me, I went on a rollercoaster of emotions on this one, one minute I'm laughing my head off the next I'm actually sobbing. It is very beautiful, and has a lovely story.

Then there's Durarara!!! which someone mentioned briefly before, I really do love this anime for all the different characters it has, it's very quirky and addicting to watch when you start you can't stop watching til the end. Baccano is not as good but I would still recommend, if you don't mind a bit of gore it's similar to Durarara!!! in that it follows different characters .

Those are the only ones that stand out so far in my mind.

    Re: Anime

As far as Spiral goes, read the manga instead. The anime doesn't do it justice. It's a good anime show, don't get me wrong, but... it veers so far off of the manga near the end.
And as far as HxH goes, wait for the new anime remake to come out in October. You -could- watch the old one, as it is a very good classic, but... with the new one coming out, there really isn't much point.

You can't stand Japanese? Then you won't be watching Hunter x Hunter. It's going to be airing in Japan in October, not America.

And you won't find downloads of Spiral in english. It's sad that you can't stand Japanese. I guess you're one of the types that doesn't like to read subtitles.

Also, Soul Eater isn't in english and neither is Xam'd. So there you go. Too bad you can't stand Japanese, otherwise there's a lot more open to you.

to be honest the japanese openings and endings are fine together with subs.
i think subs ruin the video cuz your not focused on whats happening anymore and it covers a part of your screen.

sorry for spiral then but i think that if HxH is received well it will be dubben so i'll see it eventually right?

In most cases the subs are at the bottom of the screen. You are going to miss out on alot of good animes if you skip the japenese ones. I think they are more of the original content in their Japenese form as opposed to the English adaptation.

Well we both have our opinions then but i find a video good when it also has the audio along if i watch japanese ill miss the audio and part of the video because i have to look down all the time.

sometimes the english dubs are a little stupid but the japs scream and yell so much and the males just sound like little wussies high pitched voices and lets not start with the females. they also make stupid sounds like EH ahhhh oehh wooo wiii waa so annoying D:

    Re: Anime

Angel Beats! was too short and felt rushed, it failed to really get you to connect with the characters like Key did with Clannad. I really don't like how much newer anime is mostly limited to 12 episodes a season, it's ok for a few shows but it really devalues a lot of potentially awesome series.

Dubs suck, if you can't read and watch at the same time then there isn't much hope for you.
