Michael McIntyre pointed something out that is true most people say 'what' to someone 3 times when they don't hear what is being said then on the 3rd 'what' just accept what they thought they heard the other person say an example i have is:

I was in this club called Imperia,l and i started talking to this guy and he asked me my name so i told him then i asked his and all i kept hearing was Gemphis, now this is not a name. I asked 3 times then accepted it and he seemed to respond to Gemphis later we exchanged numbers and he is saved as Gemphis although i haven't seen him since so he is getting removed from contacts.

So my homie Michael McIntyre pointed something out that I believe is true. Most people respond with "what?" a maximum of three times before giving up and just accepting what they thought they heard. Let me give you a background story.

I was in this ballin ass club called 'Imperial', even though I'm like 12 and can't properly punctuate. After a few drinks, I started talking to this cute guy. He asked me my name so I smiled and told him. "Mark, you can call me Marky though." I then asked for his, however all I kept hearing was "Gemphis". I couldn't believe that I had heard him correctly, because I was drunk and it's not possible in my mind for someone to be named this. I gave him the rule of 3 before I actually accepted his name as Gemphis. After that, I was like "whatever, names don't matter", and got his number. I saved it as Gemphis but I still don't believe that's his real name even though he responded to it a few times after that. Since I'm so skeptical, I'll just have to think of a cute nickname for him like "honeybear".
