New MSN version

So theres a new version of MSN instant messenger today that I downloaded. What do you guys all think of it?

So far, I'm really confused with the new additions and format of everything (which makes me very uncomfortable and exposed, much like a newborn child), and it's very different then what I am used to. On the plus side, chad and myself can now watch Dizzee Rascal youtube videos together thanks to those geniuses over at MSN software engineering programmer studios, so I'm pretty happy. <3

What do you guys think? Have any questions with it so far? Found out how to do any neat things so far?

Edit: Oh, that 2011 thing. I don't think MSN auto updates to it.. so I don't think I'll ever be getting it. Unless my comp gets reformatted or I make/get a new comp and have to download it.

I got it, and I hate it. It's way too confusing.

I don't know why, but it looks a bit tacky to me. Like they've tried to make it too much like Facebook. But a more confusing version. It took me some getting used to the last one, but this may be one thing I won't get used to. It's just too different.

MSN sucks! It always sucked! Also. I am sticking to Microsoft Messenger 2008 because I have Office 2008 and I never EVER upgrade MSN seperatly without buying Office. Oh gawd when I did it was a NIGHTMARE! The fonts on my computer got all mixed up because of a bug Microsoft decided to fix FIVE DAYS LATER and all kinds of crap.

And no. NO NO NO! I AM NOT BUYING OFFICE 2011! I don't give a rats behind about word 2011 (though it is nicer than 2008 by a long shot) I use Pages now. Besides I like... don't have 100 bucks to spare >.>

Also. Microsoft Messenger 2011 (or 8 as its called in version numbers) crashes more than the one I have now. I didn't even think that was POSSIBLE!

Microsoft stuff isn't really intended to be used on Macs, that's why you think they suck.

No. In my opinion MSN has sucked on both since MSN 6. All preference anyway. And I know you don't have to have office. I just don't like installing MSN separate... as I explained above.

And not intended to run on a Mac? If it wasn't intended to be on the Mac the Macintosh Business Unit wouldn't bother making it. It's an official Microsoft product (The Macintosh Business Unit is part of Microsoft) and like I said.. maybe I would like the new version. Just the old one works and I don't feel like jumping through any hoops installing the new one when the old one isn't exactly broken.

I didn't notice a lot different besides appearance but then again I'm not MSN savvy. It's more likely just more bloatware but hey... I could be wrong.

Microsoft is the king of confusing UI though I give them that. If it isn't broken why fix it?

Well, I decided to go ahead and upgrade to the new version of MSN. I like it. Things seem a little more organized to me than the other one.

I like the fact that when you sign in, both MSN news and your contacts appear in one window. I also really like that when you're chatting with more than one person, there's only one window and you can just click on the tabs to go back and forth between convos. That's better for me, because having a bunch of windows open was kind of annoying.

I haven't messed with too much of anything else, but I figured I would go ahead and add in my two cents.

The previous MSN had tabs also, but you had to install MSNPlus to get them.
