In the Final Fantasy world, Chocobos go "Warrk Wark"/"Kweh kweh!" and Moogles go "Kupo"/"Nyaaah".
Riddle me this
Why, then, in any game with voice acting, do Chocobos make a cute trumpet-like squeak and Moogles make a turkey like sound?

CPC8- 'fo bros, 'fo life, 'fo shizzle
SPOILER!!:
Apparently Moogles say 'mew!' in the Japanese versions.
But yeah, it is odd. I do like it though, I like seeing the 'Kupo' (never heard 'Nyaaa') and 'Wark/Kweh!' but hearing the other sounds. (However don't the chocobos in FFIX thereon make the right kind of sound? Not 'Kweh' but at least closer to it?)

I call out these prayers to the sky, heavy with thought, see your face.
I carry these memories inside, thoughts of a soul colored by love.
See me grow wings and fly high, passions will die down below.
I burn in a basin of fire, watchers look on as they dance in their merciless sky.
Watching me, watching you.
Some Moogles go Nyaah in either IV or v i think
But mew is kinda close to whatever the wabblewahahoo sound they make in Dissidia

Actually, if you look in some japanesse manga, there will be times where a sound is being expressed and the word for it is completely wrong. So maybe it's just a japaneese thing.
This is my signature. It's not good now, but later on it might be. Who can say...
...can you?
I think the best sounds for Moogles and Chocobos came from IX and X. I think IX had the most legit moogle sound and the chocobos actually sounded similar to "kweh". For X I just like the Chocobo "Kewh, so cute
There's just different versions, but I think the ones above were the most befitting.
I think it's because it's kind of difficult to put a name to a sound that would be universal for all languages involved (doing that is called onomatopoeia). What sounds like "Kweh" or "Kupo" to one person, can sound entirely different to another, so the game designers (perhaps specifically the translaters) came up with words that they think the creatures in the FF games sound the most like.
Eh. Just my guess.
