Some people call it a day of rainbows and butterflies. Some call it a time to get out of the proverbial doghouse. Others call it a SAD (Single Awareness Day). Regardless, it is upon us today!

What are you sexy people doing for it? I have to work (like what I'm doing right now rofl), and after that I'll probably go home and eat leftovers. Basically the same stuff I do everyday. I don't have anyone to share the love with Oh well just another reason to spoil myself on chocolate and netflix movies haha.

Yeah, it's pretty much just another day for me as well. I wished my family a happy Valentine's day, but that's about it. Other than that, I really have no plans. I really need to organize my iTunes library though. I suppose I could do that today.

Been on the computer all morning though so I think I'll take a break and read for the afternoon. Maybe a movie later, haven't decided yet. Seeing the trailer for Iron Man 2 in the theater the other day did make me want to watch the first one again.

I love Valentines Day. I got chocolate covered strawberries at the grocery store yesterday. I ate ALL OF THEM. (I'm skinny right now, I can indulge). And why not celebrate love, even if you're not involved at the moment? I have been in love and it's the ****in shit. So I'm celebrating, in my way.

Tonight, I'm gonna do homework. I have to. And have a delicious salad or something. I bought a lot of blue cheese yesterday, so the salads are ON for this week. My dad sent me Godiva for the holiday (he sends us chocolate every year), lots of truffles. I won't eat all of them tonight, but maybe 2 or 3 and some white wine or a black tea. My dad is the coolest. My dad and my Gatsby dog... two very reliable males in my life who I can celebrate V-Day with.

Why dedicate just one day a year for all the lovely-dovey, romantic stuff? Keep the magic alive everyday, whether you're single or not. You don't need someone to share a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine, and if you're in a couple, why share only once a year?

I worked Valentine's Day. How lame, I know. But my SO lives in a different country anyway so I couldn't do too much. I LOVE Valentine's Day though and I love doing all the cliche things like going out to dinner, doing romantic things during the day, giving gifts.

Shop: Because! It's St Valentine's Day, and that means that you have to part with some of your money. How much you love your significant other is proportionate to the amount of money you spend on her, didn't you know?

Me: No, I didn't know that. Because it's a lie designed to make me spend money. I love my girlfriend so much that some shit-ass rose would actually be offensive to give to her. No thought is put into that. 'Oh look, a ****ing rose. Did you pick this up from the dairy down the road, or did ya steal it from an old lady's garden?' How amazingly original.

My girlfriend and I only give presents on birthdays, as that's a unique celebration of a person. Christmas, we spend a little, but not the same extent. Christmas is a celebration of generosity. If you're a Christian, then it's the generosity of God. If you're not, you can still celebrate the generosity of man, if there's any still around.

What is St Valentine's Day? The day to recognise love (or lack thereof). If you have an other half, and you don't already do that everyday, without needing to spend money, then you're in the wrong place.

I made my girlfriend a card and wrote her a poem. She made me a card and painted a picture of us together. And we did this on the 13th, because she had to work on the 14th. I didn't go see her on her break, she didn't mind. Why would she? It's just a ****ing calendar date.

A guy I work with who's in the middle of a divorce his wife left him last year on Valentines Day which that's ****ing hilarious to me. He was saying how he's getting blind drunk and wants to be left alone. Even though his marriage was dead long before then. If you hate the holiday cause you're single, then stop being a *****. If you like it great. It's not my cup of tea but whatever works for you.
