I thought Yuna was the most powerful surprisingly. She could summon, and the summons could do massive damage especially with their overdrives, and her magic stat was very high, so if you gave her some black magic, she could do a fair amount of damage even without using her summons.
Wakka can do the most damage with his Overdrives, so therefore he is the most powerful.
12 hits from the attack reels + 99999 = 1199988 damage.

When you say "character," I'm sure just about everyone will think you mean "playable character." Also didn't you destroy Sin at the end of the game? Sin was surprisingly not that powerful.Originally Posted by ethan

Honestly I was surprised when I saw Wakka's full potential on youtube, it was devastating, he's apparently the key character for defeating Penance, and I always though he was lame (combat wise).
As for my own party, Lulu's strongest by far, I paid most attention to her, I almost filled the entire Sphere Grid with her, doublecast alongside her celestial weapon can deal some nasty damage.

I'm pretty sure that once Yu Yevon was defeated at the end of the game, that the cycle of Sin was destroyed along with it (him?). Sin was only a vessel that protected Yu Yevon, like his armor or something. Once Yu Yevon was destroyed, there was no more need for Sin to "come back".
And as for who I think was the strongest? I'll go with what Rocky posted. Wakka ftw.

Sin was not immortal. Yu Yevon kept Sin alive by making the host of the Final Summoning as the next Sin so, technically, Sin's not the that omnipotent and almighty.

By far the most powerful characters in my opinion.
As long as they are under spell of Rikku's Trio, I think they all are powerful lol
Tidus with his Blitz Ace. 9 movements = 90.000 damage
Lulu with her Fury. 6 movements = 60.000 damage
and Yuna! I heard that if her black magic point is full, the black aeon could give 999999 damage

Yea if you get Wakka's Attack reels to 12 every time he could hit for the most damage then any other character with maxed out stats but that being said I'd had to say either Tidus or Auron would be the strongest. Tidus because with his maxed out stats his Blitz Ace would hit for 899,991 damage every time and Auron just because he's Auron and he's one of the better characters.

I guess it'd be Auron... My most powerful was Yuna though because her sphere grid got REALLY built up.
It all depends on how the characters were built. Since I used the Expert version of the Sphere Grid (only international version had this), the possibilities were basically endless. I can't really say 1 was most powerful, since it also depended on what adversary you were up against.
I had built them like this:
Tidus: overal strong and fast physical attacker, highest attack power.
Auron: slower, but very strong. Armor piercing weapon and "break" skills made him especially good against armored adversaries.
Lulu: all the way black mage for me, with the strongest spells.
Yuna: best overall mage, with summons and healing abilities.
Those 4 were definitely most important in my gameplay. Still, Wakka was quite handy and accurate against flying opponents. And Rikkus stealing ability of course, and her easy killing mechanic adversaries.
In mine Yuna and Lulu,
closely followed by Rikku coz I tried to beef her up coz I loved her character!

Same here, in my main save file she is pretty much a one girl army, all types of magic and all types of abilities... highest attack power and armour peircing lolIn mine Yuna and Lulu,

Seeing as I'm rubbish at the game, I don't really understand this "HP Limit Break" business, and couldn't even come close to getting the celestial weapons. xD
So for me, I'd have to say Lulu or Yuna. Because Lulu's magic proved vital in most fights, while Yuna's Holy along with summoning aeons in overdrive helped me win some of the fights I found toughest.
Of course, I appreciate that this probably isn't the best response compared to those of you who are actually good enough at the game to know about stats and which characters do the most damage, etc. xD
For me it's Yuna and Auron.
Especially Yuna cause every aeon does 99.999 damage and Magus Sisters damage more than that, almost invincible and they have HP 30-45.000.
I recommend getting the Break limit items and the Celestial Weapons, it makes this game all the more easier if you want to do everything.
lol...i agree...sin is, he just doesnt die. but seriously i would have to say yuna. even though she isnt my fav, but still she can summon
Penance is the strongest monster in the game it is very, very strong and has a total HP of 12,000,000!!! Plus to make this enemy appear you have defeat all the dark Aeons first and believe me that is no easy feat. If you wanna beat this enemy you really have to work hard on your poarty. It took me an my missus well over 200 hours just to get strong ehough to beat the Dark Aeons. It took over 2 hours alone to defeat Penance unless you defeat it with Yojimbo (but that's too easy really)!!!

for me this is how it went because i had kimahri take aurons path on the sphere grid and wakka took aurons the second time and auron took wakkas
tidus also took aurons path on the second and rikku took wakkas
i had yuna and lulu switch and then they both took rikkus
tidus wakka and auron ended up with each others abilities
rikku got hers wakka and tidus and kimahri got auron wakka and half of tidus

early game, I would say Auron. But Wakka ends up being the best due to his attack reels overdrive. I would also like to mention Lulus overdrive which enables her to cast consecutive magic, comes as a great way to deal vast amounts of damage in a single turn.
That is true, regarding Lulu but as each spell in Fury did less damage then if it was used normally the amount of damage wouldnt be singnificantly higher like it is if Wakka sucsessfully used Attack Reels.

This is a question that will have many differrent answers. The answerr to this question is the most powerful character depends on which charcter you have powered up the most. In the beginning it varies Tidus is the quickest, Lulu has black magic, Auron is very strong etc etc. So there is no definite answer to this question it is all a matter on how you as the player develops your characters.
