I'm wanting to do a perfect save for Final Fantasy VIII, and i'm pretty sure some cards can be missed throughout the game, question is, which ones? I'm going to use the official guide, but it doesn't really go in-depth with the cards...

I think I'm beginning to understand. An answer from the Planet, the Promised Land...I think I can meet her...there.
Well, seeing as you have the guide, I'l just spoiler tag it for other peoples benefits <_<
Spoiler: As far as Im aware, the only cards you only have one chance of getting are Lagunas card on board the Space Station from Ellone, you won't be able to get him again
and Cerberus can only be got in the battle of the gardens as he drops his card, so if you miss that, its gone along with the GF as well
I'm pretty sure that's it
I think the CC Group will be on board the Ragnorak on disk 4 as long as you have complete said sidequest previously, and I THINK the Queen of Cards is at the escape pod on Disk 4 as well. You will however have needed to do the Chocobo sidequest to be able to access the Ragnorak. I think she has all the rare cards you may have missed, but I wouldnt quote me on that....
The official guide doesn't go into very much detail about the Triple Triad cards? That seems kind of messed up to me. Well, I looked up some info, and here's a few that stuck out to me:
SPOILER!!:
I think that's all the ones that can be missed if you don't play the card game during that particular part of the story. Well, those are the ones that stuck out to me anyway... Good luck!
I never challenged the Queen of Cards, so I don't know what exactly she has or can have in her deck.![]()

Thanks for your input, i've also been reading about the Card Queen quest - why did Square have to make getting all these cards so damn annoying?![]()

As long as you do the card quest throughout the game, you are eligible to challenge the Queen of cards on disc 4. She has all the level 9 and 10 cards that you either Card modded or missed. That means her deck is stacked though, so be careful and save often when playing her.

hahas, updated July 28th (oldie but goodie!):
I know you said she has all the rare cards, but does she also have Ifrit? Because my friend was recently saying he played against her tons and tons of times, and she didn't have Ifrit what so ever, so he just gave up...
Hmmm..

If what Rocky said is true about she has all the level 9 and 10 cards, then she wouldn't have Ifrit because he's a level 8 card. If you lost him to General Caraway to get the Rinoa card, then you can get Ifrit back by playing and winning it from Martine when you find him in Fisherman's Horizon.

I was wondering the same thing about the Siren card, I read that in order to get it from this guy I had to save the dog in the first quest, how was I suppose to know this?
Is it possible to win Siren off someone else?
It is possible to get every single card in the game it takes a bit of work and knowing where to obtain them but it can be done certain sidequests yield certain cards The King of Cards sidequest and The Queen of Cards sidequest gives you some of the strongest cards but the Queen of cards sidequest can be very long, difficult and tedious.
