I mean... Releasing BOTH FFXIII and ALL of it's spin-off at the same time?

Everyone's starting to find ways to make more profit now. A Final Fantasy game comes out only once every 3~ish years. The time it takes to develop the game, release it, and make profit can be a long time for them. Releasing two games which are different enough for people to pick one they are interested in, or for hardcore fans to buy both just means more profit. I would not be surprised if there's downloadable content for both of them as well. Welcome to the new era of gaming.
I don't think that Square Enix is weird at all. They are awesome, and yeah, doing this will ensure more Profit, so that they can get the tools required to make the Next set of FF Games, and to make them look much better, and to come up with new things. Profit is a key part to making better games. The more money you have, the better the games will be...most of the time. I cannot wait to play FFXIII and FF Versus XIII. Well Done Square Enix. This is just my Opinion. Anyway, Happy Posting![]()
Well, the fact that they are releasing The Final Fantasy 13 Complitation around the same time seems fairly normal to me. After all Square has really been milking the series lately, which is fine, assuming Square keeps the same quality seen in previous titles. What strikes me as strange however is how they've announced, as well as, marketed Final Fantasy 14 before the release of both FFXIII and FFVXIII. Hell, I've seen gameplay of 14, recently annonced at E3 '09, and little more than a trailer for Versus, announced in E3 '06. Most likely this has to do with development teams rather and 14 and 13's somewhat non-competing genres. Hopefully when 13 is released we will finally see more of Versus and whatever else Square has up their sleeve.
do anyone have any info on FF XIII release in U.S. for the 360
I haven't seen any specific date for a 360 release. This is what Wikipedia had to say:
I'll keep looking, but I don't think I'll find anything just yet.During Microsoft's E3 2009 conference, it was announced that Final Fantasy XIII was to be released "Spring 2010"[54] worldwide and for both consoles[55] (except Japan) and that a concrete date has not been determined yet.
As for the topic at hand, I think it's pretty great that we're getting so much in so little time. Granted, I probably won't have much of a social life when all those games get released, but to be perfectly honest, I never really had one to begin with, so no big loss.![]()

It's weird? That's a rather weird and ambiguous thing to say, haha. Not to mention a weird thread to start, with one sentence, which I suppose you assumed was self-explanatory. What do you mean, "weird?" I am curious. Anyhoo...
Wuv, Yer Mom
Its in 2010, but the Actual Month and day, has not yet been Uncovered. Probly around the Summer, or Spring...I hope. Anyway, Happy Posting![]()
I'm pretty excited about it.. and i hope for sixty dollars like all other 360 games its good...
I think it's interesting.
They started with 10 on the idea of expanding a single games universe and then went backwards and really expanded on 7. They choose 7 because as the best seller and perhaps most popular they thought it would be a great testing ground for the idea of tie-ins. Then they made sequels for XII. Now that they know they work, they're going full force into XIII with pre-planned tie-ins that they'll release together. If it all sells well, the tie-in concept will expand in every future game to come. If it doesn't it will be a marginalized portion of the market but will continue even if it has to limp forward.
Either way, I'm for it. I think it's a great way to explore a given world even further, and to do so in a different genre outside of the classic FF style RPG. They can do any style of game with it. I personally won't invest in any of these, but I think it's good all the same.
The only question would be if they start intentionally splitting essential story elements of a game into the multiple tie-ins, but I really don't think they'll do that.
