AAAAAA MADDDHOUSSSSEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Well it all depends what kinda tattoo it is, I definitely wouldn't get tattoo of mogle, chocobo, that meteor logo from FF VII or any kind of logo from FF. First of all I would rather have an original tattoo something that I draw, something unique but it would't be bad to also have an amazing FF tattoo. I would like to have Bahamut tattoo, he looks awesome and I think he would be the best dragoon tattoo.
Sig and Avy made by Unknown Entity
Honestly, I was thinking of putting Kefka on my left shoulder and Tina on my right. Getting them tattooed would symbolize what they represent. I've also thought of having the cast of Chrono Trigger, even Necron and the Crystal from FFIX. But knowing me, I will never do it.
Personally I know of only person in real life that has a FF related tat and that one consist of the chain that hangs off of Squalls revolver and its crest that is attached to it. Basically is ran from collar bone to collar bone and the chain ran down his shoulder blades with a crest on each of the collar bones. It was actually pretty rad looking by the time it was done.
On the subject at hand I would say they are alright but it would be more impressive to have something that is rarely seen in a FF game as a tat. I personally haven't found one that I would think would be worth getting. And if I had to choose something it would be a rendition of Amonos work even though I know it would be jacked up.

I have a fear of needles, so getting a tattoo is totally out of the question for me. However, if that is what you like, then go for it. I have never met anyone who had a FF tattoo, but I have met a person with the Triforce (from Zelda) on his shoulder.
I guess they can be cool if done the right way. I would personally never get one.
Click at your own risk.:
I dont mind since I`m gonna get a tattoo soonIt will be my first one, so it wont be something big. I thought about a Gothic cross or an ankh, something that represent me
If I would have a FF tattoo it Would be the FFVII logo or red XIII![]()

As long as you can afford the tatoo and are possitive you want it, it seems pretty awesome in my opinion
I've been thinking about getting the symbol Cloud marks with his Cross-Slash Limit Break, Its simple but looks good at the same time.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes...or should I?
I have a tramp stamp that says "Squall's Bitch".
Y'know, the person who is Squall's bitch, I feel sorry for. For more than one reason.
If I were going to get just one tattoo in my life, it probably would not be an FF tattoo. Maybe if I were going to get multiple ones, I'd get Mog or Stiltzkin somewhere. If I saw someone with an FF-related tattoo, I'd probably go "that's awesome!" ...or I wouldn't, depending upon what thing from FF it was. Vague... Anyhoo...
Wuv, Yer Mom
Not to you. To Squall. Unless you really like Squall a lot; then it might be unintentionally indirectly at you. The idea of Squall having a bitch makes me concerned, in any case. Would he even know what to do with his bitch? They'd probably cower before him, he'd stand there for a few seconds, say "...whatever," and walk away, leaving the bitch confused.
I have the dirge of cerberus symbol on my forearm...
Honestly, and I say this in a completely light hearted way, if you have a tatoo of a final fantasy character on you, you're a weirdo. :-)
Just my opinion but aside from something like the names of your children, a military tatoo, or something else really really important to you, I don't really know how you say to yourself, "Yes I need that drawn on me for the rest of my life."
My brother for instance has a dragon on his back,,,,,,,,,, why? How do you decide you want this on your calf forever, and what good is this doing you?
As for the tramp stamp. Ladies, please if you don't understand this, guys don't think it's just cute, they think you're a whore. Fair or not, the first thing a guy thinks when he sees a tramp stamp, is man I'd like to (fill in the blank). So if that's what you want, go for it, but just consider that first. I like a good lower back tatoo as much as the next guy, but if you're a girl, don't expect to have respectful guys lining up at your door. I guarantee they just want to wear you as a hat.
Maybe this is helpful, and maybe it isn't. But if you just think tattoos are fun and innocent, please understand that people you will be asking for employment probably won't be so excited. I realize you can cover them up, but on the whole, fair or not, tattoos don't speak well of you in regards to responsibility. Now that may not mean you. You may be an excellent person who is very outgoing and responsible, but I'm just saying that's the impression most employers of yours are going to have.
I'm a writer, and if I ever got something published, I might stick an emblem for the book on my back shoulder, or I might get my kids names. But a random moogle, some chaotic squiggling of lines, or a tramp stamp, WHY?

Locke4God I honestly dont understand how you can sit back and criticize all of our tattoo's when its not your body to judge...Along with my Dirge of Cerberus tattoo I have Semper Fi across my back me and all my friends from bootcamp got it....So how can you judge tattoo's espicially a lower back tattoo maybe it has some meaning to the person that has it...I hate ignorance it pisses me off and you are the epitome of ignorance my friend...
@ Kisuke - Ummmm, I wasn't criticizing anybody. In fact I said I like tattoos. If you go back and read I said that I'd have trouble in making the decision to get one myself because I simply wouldn't know what to get. I did say at the top that FF tats make you a weirdo, but it was in jest, and I said that as well. As for the lower back tattoo on girls,,, I mean come on. If you're a guy are you thinking "wow that's hot" or "wow that girl is a smart upstanding citizen"? That's not criticizing anybody, it was just stating the obvious. I mean really, no offense to anybody, tattoo on. I'm not ignorant on the matter, it's just I wouldn't know what to get myself, and some tattoo's tell a lot about you. Look how much crap Mike Tyson got for his face tat. The only ignorance is if you think getting tattood sideburns (which I've seen) is a smart decision. And the topic was "what do you think about FF tats" so that's my opinion on it. I mean again really, I LIKE TATS. I just couldn't get one myself.
I've always wanted that little logo thing on the start up screen of FFVII, I look at it and think I'l get that one day, Ive been saying it for years, It'l be my 4th tattoo though, and I dunno where Id have it
http://www.mobygames.com/images/i/45/17/300317.png
That one, only without the writing and possibly in black but shaded the same
I don't really mind them, as long as they arent over the top (like that tit whio got a giant Sephy on his back), a little moogle would be awesome, it's just cute, and people who dont know FF would still think it was pretty cool. Ooh or a cactuar....and now Im getting ideas >_<
Whats a tramp stamp..? I have a lower back tattoo, and Im not a tramp or a whore, It's a pair of wings I drew myself. Isnt it a matter of personal preference? Just because YOU don't like it doesnt mean all men are the same, plus it's my body I'l do what I want with it, Ive always liked tattoos...anyway, Im going off topic
Who cares...? It's not your body. What good do ALOT of things do us..? It's not like it harms anyone, and if we regret it in a few years time, well, sod it, Il be old and past caring about what people think about me anyway. Not like Il be flashing flesh when Ive got my teeth in a glass of water by my bed is it?
Because its something people may be passionate about, just as you are with your book, or whatever. I have an obsession with wings - hence the big pair of wings on my lower back. The dragon on my shoulder blade was simply because I like them. The Dolphin on my arm was a spur of the moment thing almost 10 years ago. Do I regret that? No. Why? Because it speaks volumes about me as a person. People ask, why the dolphin, and I tell them it was just impulse. I'm reckless, spontaneous, a little bit mental, I dont think before I act I never have and I doubt I ever will. It's a part of me, and in a way, the dolphin is like a visible sign of that
And if people don't like them, look away, I don't care

@ Lily - No, I really actually think it's cool and I completely support your freedom to do whatever you want to with your body. I actually like peoples tattoo's, I was just stating that I don't know how I'd ever choose to put one on me.
As you said, people are into a lot of things, but my point was just that, yeah I can be into FF, I can be into soccer, or into painting or whatever, but none or those things are permanent decisions. My outlook in getting a tattoo for myself would just be that I don't know how I could make a decision to permantly write something on my body. I just can't imagine finding some image that's so perfect I comit to having it forever.
Regarding your back tattoo. Hey, congrats. I'm glad you like it. You said that some guys like it, and count me as one of them. In all seriousness I wasn't in any way calling you a whore, but I am being completely honest when I say that there isn't one single guy on this earth who's first thought upon seeing a lower back tattoo on a girl isn't "she'll put out." Dead Serious. I'm giving you a trade secret here, so don't shoot the messenger, but that is exactly what any guy who sees that thinks immediately. So I suppose what I want you to draw from that is, that if you're dating or whatever and you're considering a serious guy, don't show him that for awhile. I'm just saying if a guy sees that first he will never get that image out of his head. You'll be the girl with the hot lower back tattoo. Honest, and that's friendly candid advice that you'll never get from another guy, and I hope it helps. Sometimes girls don't really understand what's important to guys, but I swear to you, fair or not, every single one of us are just like that. Don't think your guy isn't. I mean if you're not convinced, just consider that guys didn't start calling them Tramp Stamps because they respect girls who have them. Quite the opposite.

Well you just found a guy that doesn't automatically think a girl is easy because she has a lower back tat. I do in fact find a tat in that area if it is done properly but I never think "hey a tramp stamp, I am going to get some."
Personally though from what I have read I don't think you where critisizing anyone but I can see where things could be misinterprated in your first post but then again you clearly have stated that you wheren't doing it.
Actually I think that would be a pretty good one. Most people wouldn't have a clue what it is with the exception of die hard FF fans which would be awesome. Ones like that are fine in my books but I would never get something like Sephy on my calve or anything like wise.by Lily

@ Meier - Well noted. But really? So if you see 2 girls in the grocery store, of equal beauty, but not necessarily hot. They're both dressed fairly conservatively, so nothing esspecially sexy happening there. They reach up for something and their shirts lift a little. Ones got nothing. The other has a rose peaking up out of her jeans. You're telling me that for the second girl, you're not thinking to yourself, "yeah that's nice". Really? Come on Meier,,, :-) No need to be bashful, you know well and good you spend a little more time on her. You know you wonder if she's got some catchy phrase written under the rose like "Love Hurts" or something. ;-). That doesn't mean she's easy, but I'm pretty confident she's not leading a life of celibacy either. At least I'm more confident in that than I would be for girl number one.

It's a stereotype, yes, and you can probably make some pretty good guesses as to "Yes" or "No".
In MY opinion, it's just a weird spot to put a tattoo. The person getting it will never see it themselves, and looking at someone's lower back isn't something you do normally when communicating with someone. Isn't that kind of rude, anyway? Guys always get called out for checking out girls' asses, and we're talking a matter of inches.
I know a few people with lower back tattoos, all girls. Ironically, and I'm just stating facts here, these girls are very liberated (which is probably why they have a tattoo) and open to the idea of sex.
I wouldn't necessarily call them "whores". But that's a completely different stereotype of women who sleep with men who aren't considered their "boyfriend" these days.
@ Locke .Shouldn't be ogling to notice something peeking out like that if you ask me...
And if someone DID look at me and think, ooh she has tattoos, bet she's easy, they'd be in for a surprise. I get them because I liek them. Never judge a book by it's cover. A girl with no tattoos could be a right trollop, whereas me and my tattoo'd self is not. Assumptions make an ass out of you and me
And well, according to you , all other men too
I really don't think that just because YOU think it would make a girl look like a tart, doesn't mean all men think that. Sure some might, but I don't want to associate with the kind of man that thinks that/just wants to **** me anyway. And if my tattoos put someone off, well, clearly they aren't worth my time anyway.
Not all untattoo'd women lead a life of celibacy either
Done well, tattoos can look really good
Not being able to see it didn't even cross my mind haha, it was just about putting it somewhere on my body, same with the dragon on my shoulder, can't see that one either
I drew it and it was like, well, there's only one place it can go...

My girlfriend thinks they look "amazing". She will point out (good) tattoos and whisper to me "isn't that SO cool?". I usually can't get past the fact that it's permanent. What if you don't like it anymore? People change all the time. I guess it could be a part of you that you don't or can't forget, or something to that effect.
I'd rather go with something I could change. Both of my ears are pierced, and I like to wear earrings on occasion when I'm going out. I really like Cloud's earrings from Advent Children.![]()
Then I'm screwed and stuck with them haha. I do often wonder if my dolphin will look more like Moby Di.ck when Im fat and old, but then it's more an amusing thought than anything.
People that have even the slightest doubts, just shouldn't have them. Only problem is, some people ARE reckless and will have a poorly done tattoo when they are young and regret it, which is a shame. SHould always start out small and get one from somewhere you KNOW is good. There's NOTHING worse than a poorly done tattoo.
Imagine asking for a chocobo and coming out with a yellow chicken... *shudders*
I put a lot of thought (bar the Dolphin) into my other 2 tattoos, it actually took me a year to decide on the dragon annnd about 4 more for the wings. It's not so much the permanency (is that even a word?) of a tattoo, but the rashness involved in getting one sometimes, regardless of the image. If you know you've put a lot of thought into it, you're less likely to regret it. Or at least regret it alot later in life than afew weeks later
I know I've looked at someones tattoo ...fairly recently as it happens and thought, bloody hell...you're stuck with that forever, I could of drawn that better withmy eyes closed
@ Che - The 2nd comment up from here that you posted is exactly what I meant. Yeah, it's a stereotype, and Lily I appologize to you if you don't fit the stereotype, but let us not pretend that stereotypes are completely unfair. They exist, because by in large they are true.
@ Lily - In all seriousness, I love your tats. I've not seen them, but I'm not prone to think negatively of people for petty reasons, however, I was intriqued by your comment of not judging a book by it's cover. I know what you mean when you say that, but it can be perfectly logical to judge somebody in just that way. For instance I run a hotel, and I don't know a manager that I've ever met who would hire a person who came to an interview with visible tats and facial piercings. Maybe for a overnight or craptastic position, but you're not moving up the corporate ladder if you show up to the interview looking like Courtney Love. That's a prejudgement, but I just believe that kind of stuff matters. You see I just find it amuzing because we all dress in certain ways to impress or fit in with the people we want to fit in with. And so I'm tat free because it just doesn't fit who I am or the people I work with. You have tats, because your friends likely have tats, and that's cool. The idea that's it's some individual choice of expression is at least a little baloney, otherwise I'd see Mick Jagger and Donald Trump having lunch together on a regular basis. But I don't. People do it because they fit in, which is exactly why people do anything. It is a tad curious that it's only when the tattoo social groups try to go get jobs with people in the corporate social group, that all of a sudden the corporate social group are a bunch of judging bastards, when in fact most of the tattoo social group was judging the corporate preps as tightwads in the first place. The Point? Everybody makes judgements. Esspecially the people who say they don't. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's how any society works. My father in law is a Biker and a Mechanic, and I don't know shit about that stuff and I'm sure he thinks I'm a bit lame. But that's cool, because I think it's odd he can't name the quarterback of the Patriots or tell me what an IRA is. Am I suprised a biker couldn't do that? Nope, because I made a judgement and assumed he couldn't in the first place, just like he looked at me and assumed I didn't know how to switch out an alternater. That's not going away. There's never going to be some hippie paradise where you can just do whatever you want, everybody thinks it's cool, and nobody judges you. It's not even human. The more socially, clean cut, presentable people, by in large are going to find themselves ahead of the game. Not to say tattood people can't, but the CEO of any fortune 500 company is never going to be caught hanging out with Motley Crue if you know what I mean.
And you know, I don't know if it's right that guys stare at girls constantly. In fact, I would hate it, if I were a girl, but don't be fooled. Every guy who has ever seen you, sizes you up. If you're attractive, I guarantee they notice, and they are reeeaaaaaaaaal good at pretending they don't. Sex is the 2nd most important thing to a guy after eating. If he just ate lunch, then he's checking out girls. Just watch 40 year old virgin. Remember the whole scene with using your peripherals. That's exactly it.
Last edited by Locke4God; 09-24-2009 at 09:21 AM.
I never said that it wasn't nice and that it is sexy. The comment I did make was that it has nothing to do with the womans sexual desires or tendancies. I would try to sneak a peek at the art work as I do with anyone with tattoos, not limited to the lower back. Seeing the tattoo in no way makes me think instantly that she is a whore / slut unless I see the words "I am easy" tated back there.
Probably not but then again a woman with no tattoos can just as easily be slutty to any degree. Most women are sexually active, so that statment is kind of obtuse. That doesn't mean she's easy, but I'm pretty confident she's not leading a life of celibacy either.
I still stand by my previous statements, I don't think a "tramp stamp" is the sign of a slut. Maybe I just have to much respect for women or maybe to much for the art that is on their lower back. If I was going to think of a chick as easy it wouldn't be because of her tats, there are tons of other indicators that are alot more viable.
:: edit :: I am slow with my responces because I am at work haha and a couple people snuck a few in on me haha.
Have to disagree again, sex is number 1. I would rather have sex and then go eat. Haha.Sex is the 2nd most important thing to a guy after eating.
Maybe we should try making another thread about tattoo's in general instead of derailing this topic anymore.

@ Locke. Only tattoo of mine any one see's often is the dolphin on my arm, and it's only small, if I was going for a job interview, I'd cover up. It was also company policy at the last place I worked to have all tattoos covered up - which was easily done. That ones at the top of my arm. Although, Im fond of vest tops, and they gave up telling me to cover it up in the end. I was good at my job, and there was no way they were losing me over a blue smugde at the top of my arm
I wouldn't say I was part of a tattoo group judging corporate whatevers either. Ijsut happen to be a person that likes tattoos...what does that have to do with a bunch of people in a corporate social group..? If I don't like someone, it's because I think they are an asshat, no more no less. I worked in an office for years, and I'd go back to a desk job, many people find it mundane, I loved it... tattoos or not
And then I got bored of reading your post about the time i got to donald trump, skimmed abit more, then just couldn't be arsed, Ive got the concentration span of...erm....I dont have much of a concentration span
Edit* Also, whats to say everyone wants to move up some corporate ladder anyway?
@ Che - You've nailed it. That's exactly what I meant. I'm not contending tatooed women are more sexually active. I'm saying men perceive them to be, and that's why if I was Lily or any woman, I would want to understand that. If you're a women you don't want a lower back tatoo to send out a message that says, "hey I'm easy" but the fact is that us neandertal men read it that way. So if you're cool with that, then great, but don't assume men think it's as innocent as you do.
