Console Personalisation...

...is something I've always found interesting and feel it often tells you something about the console's owner, especially when the personalisation is some serious one of a kind modding.

So, how far have you gone or do you go even now with the personalisation of your console/s? And feel free to include PC modding as I've found that PC case mods can often be some of the coolest of all.

Personally I used to mod the crap out of my PC cases almost a decade back and favoured practical mods such as cooling systems and quieter fans along with aesthetic mods such as neon and clear (sometimes colour tinted) perspex windows. I never went to the extreme of some I saw, but my PC was never one of those embarrassments you occasionally saw at the LAN party you were at.

Nowadays my PCs look stock as I don't really attend any LAN parties anymore and go through electronics in general pretty fast. I do however purchase faceplates for my Xbox 360 (used to use a Silver faceplate, now I use the Hotrod faceplate and limited edition portable consoles such as my Crisis Core PSP that I bought solely for the colour scheme and artwork on the console. I have several limited edition Nintendo DSes for much the same reason...

I feel it's almost an addiction of sorts and those who like their console looking different to those of others often will go out of their way at times to get something that might perform the same so long as it's more aesthetically pleasing to them. I see it in a few people myself included.

Wow, the only thing I do is add glitter polish and stickers O.o My brother modded his PSP though...I wish he didn't do that. >.<

I haven't done anything to my PC, but I have a faceplate for my Nintendo DS. It's gold with a triforce symbol on the lower right.

I'm looking around for some sort of something for my PSP. I have no idea what I might like for it. I may just check out those sites that let you design your own faceplates, and have them make me one. I am too picky when it comes to stuff like that.

My 9 year old cousin is the customizing queen. She gets various stickers, paints, glitter and glue, and she goes to town on her Wii and her DS. Her DS has gone through many makeovers, so most of the stickers that she peeled away still have some of the paper left on it. She has a DSi now, and I don't think she has done anything to it just yet.

I haven't done any customizing to any of my consoles or anything, mostly cause I never see anything that really appeals to me. I will say that I really love the look of the Dissidia bundle PSP. I'd be tempted to get it solely for that (though the game is something I'm looking forward to myself heh).

Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places but all the faceplates/skins I see are designs that either aren't nice looking to me or for games I have no interest in. /shrugs. It is a fairly niche market so I don't expect to find much.

I have'nt done anything like that, but I've seen pictures of PC Ghost Rider and even a Comuter customized to look like the temple of NOD!

I just stuck a Frostwire sticker and a Rock Band 2 sticker on my 360... That's really about the extent of it.

I love to mod video game systems, I have my PlayStation 2 modded with a fliptop so I can play imports from other countries, and right now I'm currently painting my X-Box 360, I'm not going to mod the X-Box 360 until my warranty runs out first, like I did to my PlayStation 2. And also I love to paint my systems I just enjoy it.
