The game is currently losing in the finals of "Best Game Ever" to the Legend of Zelda over at Gamefaqs. It's quite ridiculous that a masterpiece like FF VII could be losing to that game.

I've been voting in the "Best. Game. Ever" since day one and I must say, I am content with the results. FFVII and Ocarina of Time are worthy opponents and I'll be happy to whoever wins. To think those two games beat out current games like Fallout 3, MGS4, and Half-Life, not to mention the entire Mario series, makes me proud of people's taste in games. (Not that those games are bad, these were just better)
P.S. To those who weren't following the tournament, the final four were: FFVII, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and FFX.
P.P.S. Don't be angry FFVI fans, FFVI made it pretty far too, although it did get beat by FFX...

I agree with all of those in the final four. However, no mention of Goldeneye 64?
Goldeneye 64 made it to the second round and faced off against FF7, Super Mario 64, and Chrono Trigger. Goldeneye and Chrono Trigger were defeated at the end of that round.
