if you heard Linkin Park songs , what do you think of him?
you like him or not ?
if you like him what songs do you like?
do you go to his show and he sing in it?

Linkin Park are okay.

They're older stuff is better... I don't like what I've heard of the new album. It seems to be becoming more and more generic and scenester with every album, and whilst I don't mind, they're sound is transforming into crap.

Hybrid Theory was good, Meteora was probably their best.

Man, Linkin' Park is a really great band. I really do like all their songs but the best one that I like is "Numb". I just need to get all thir cd's because I only have 1.

If I was in middle-school, I would have agreed with you there, but I think anyone above 17 should have out-grew them by now. Honestly, they aren't that talented and in the end -snicker snicker-, their music in terms of maturity and lyrics have barely evolved into something different. I've listened to quite a few songs on their latest CD too and it's all very average with the typical whining and everyday linkin park teen angst they can't seem to get rid of. Given the sound was a bit more experimental, it still didn't jump too far. It was good to see them take a new direction...somewhat, but if they really want to be known as an amazing band they'll let go of the immaturity and better themselves with some deep training. Chester though isn't that bad of a singer, I'll admit that. He does have a unique voice that could turn a different band with more talented members into something mind blowing.

Anyway, I don't I see this thread going anywhere seeing as someone made one similar before and it pretty much turned into, "omgawdz, LP is the greatest!", and then there were many others who had a similar opinion of my own more or less. My advice was to branch out to new music instead of what you hear on the radio/MTV. Branch out to new bands and people who have the talent, but aren't popular because they aren't spewing what the companies tell them to spew. Check out www.pandora.com if you'd like to find some new sounds.

I used to like Linkin Park a lot in primary school but now i've moved on. I do like listening to them on occasion though. A lot of the songs I will always like.

My favourite album is Hybrid Theory and then Meteora. Their new one is still growing on me. But it's kind of average to say the least.

Yeah, I used to be really into Linkin Park when I was 12-13 years old, back when Hybrid Theory was a brand new spark on the music scene and was completely different to the other bands I listened to (Blur, Oasis, Supergrass etc). Papercut was probably my favorite song on that album since it had the typical LP guitaring and singing, but had pretty harmonies near the end too. I was big on Crawling and In The End too, and Joe Hahn's track (forgotten the name) was really interesting. Meteora was great too, from the tracks to the artwork and their sound seemed to evolve. That was about 5 years ago, and then it all really seemed to fall apart when I'd heard nothing of them until that Jay-Z collaboration came up. I'm leaving my personal opinions of the current rap music trend out of this (basically Stormy says its a load of poop), but for me that was the end of Linkin Park. I've heard two tracks off their new album, and quite frankly i'm not impressed. Especially not with the weird one they released after "What I've Done" that sounded like the generic emo record.

I sometimes listen to the songs off Hybrid Theory and Meteroa, but I have moved on within the last 4 or 5 years. They should of left it after Meteora, back when their sound was unique rather than making themselves just another popular American band.

All Linkin Park songs look the same, I'm sorry, but any band that would willfully make a music video/song as mind-blowingly queer as "Breaking the Habit" has got to get a "sucks" in my book.

Their lead singer is the most whiny little fruit I've ever heard. And every time that other wigger tries to "rap", I either keel over with laughter or walk away in disgust.

I agree, when I was 12 I loved Hybrid Theory, and Meteora was their best. But all of a sudden they killed it. They dont do what they used to, kinda like Vanilla Ice ( if you know him).

Now im just not into it much. I probably would be if they wouldnt have rapped with Jay Z. Joining forces with him was just a big no-no, at least I think so. I dont exactly hate Jay Z, its just that he messed up all the songs that Linkin Park actually did good on.

Hahahaha that's true. I hate to admit it but its all true. I didnt like the guys voice. It was sort of like you said it was, but it sounded pretty good on some, I repeat, some songs. I think it was good on "My December" and... *thinks hard*....hmmm that seems to be it lol.

Nooo, they are not the best. They were cool when we were in our younger teens but not so much anymore in my opinion. I remember liking them when I was about 14-16 maybe and I have no interest in them at all now. The lead singer drives me mad sometimes, all he does is scream and carry on. We watched a live performance of them on some music award show and that's all he did. He can't sing and sounds like he's in terrible pain whenever he sings a note lol.

Haha, that's not so far from the truth actually...

There was some story a while ago about him having some kind of horrible hernia because of how he was screaming and singing. He had to strain himself all the time to do it. I don't know how he does it these days... But he does. =\

Honestly that is the only way I could have described my feelings to...but sadly I was forced to seem them live...it wasn't that bad..mainly due to the fact I went with friends...friends really get you through hard time...

I'm not really a fan of the band, but I'd hardly call the lead singer's work on Hybrid Theory simply screaming. He has quite a good voice on that album and the one after it as well. Whether that's studio production or not, I don't know, but it doesn't really matter. The point is that those albums have good vocals in my opinion (for the parts in which there is actual singing and not rapping anyways).

I quite like Linkin Park, although I think 'Numb' has been severely overused. It seems a bit too cliche to be taken seriously, now. I don't really have much of their stuff, but what i do have, I like. And I have to agree with Jin, you could hardly call their music screaming.

Well yeah, not all of their stuff is screaming but I have definitely heard the guy screaming in songs before, especially live. It sounds horrible in my opinion. I have heard yelling/screaming in their first album.. it just doesn't sound nice to me at all. Some people can do it well but others can't.

I love Guns n' Roses and yes, Axl Rose did scream a lot but it suited the style of music and his voice was just amazing to me. He could do it very well but it'll ruin your voice after a while lol. Depends on what you like though I suppose, some might like it while others don't.

So uh yeah, he does scream sometimes.

Screaming suits hair bands, but not nu-metal? Ummmm, what? Comparing them to other bands of their genre, Linkin Park has very few "screaming" vocals. You shouldn't mistake being powerful with screaming. Screaming connotates that he isn't still singing, which is only true of a few songs. Most of the time it's just singing passionately. That's kind of a staple of rock music in general. But really, comparing Linkin Park to System of a Down or Disturbed or other nu-metal bands, they hardly scream. At least in their older stuff, I haven't really heard them since meteora or whatever the hell that album was called.

I'm not a huge fan of them really. I like a couple of their songs but out of what they have it's not alot. I think the singer can be good when he's not getting way up there. I mean his screaming is a little too much. The way I look at it, is someone like Robert Plant can sing and then sing in high notes, meaning he carries melody when he goes up, but in Linkin Park it's like it's not a note just someone screaming, unlike when older bands like say Guns'n Roses would sing high pitched but carry the tune well. I saw them a few years ago when they were at Summer Sanatarium and they were on before metallica. I have to say i really wasn't impressed there, cause Mudvayne was on before them and they had better sound to them. i assume it was just their equipment, but the guitar, bass and vocals drowned into a mesh so I really wasn't too pleased with that.

Meh, I don't care much for them. I don't think there's ever been a modern rock band that I've had much interest in. The only song I've heard by them that I liked is "Bleed It Out". And even that song gets boring after a few listens.

I loved Linkin Park until I was introcude to HIM, Nightwish, etc..... Now I only enjoy a few of their songs.

Im a big fan of their earlier stuff not such a big fan of the last album. However minutes to midnight is a good album to thrown on if u just want to chill out as there are some pretty cool melodic songs on the album.

I really like their earlier stuff, Meteora is their best so far. Minutes to Midnight was... okay at best. Not nu-metal enough. I still think they are a good band however, and I have three of their CDs which I listen to often.
I agreewith DR Flea that Minutes to Midnight is a good album when you want to chill, but I don't normally want to chill. I play music that I want to enjoy, not to calm me down.

I like Linkin Park i'm a big fan and i would go to his parties and his show really i love his song, it move your emotion and your feelings like he live with you in your home and make songs about your life...well he like an Angel to make like these songs

Linkin Park is a band, not a person. Why does the TS keep referring to Linkin Park as "Him"?

I used to really like Linkin Park. They were the first band I started listening to. I still have "Hybrid Theory". (Which was the first CD I ever had.) I'm not a big fan of their new CD. But Meteora was a good CD.

Even though I don't really listen to them anymore, their music has a special place in my memory.

yeah... if u like Linkin Park, there is a compilation series you should check out called "Euro Club Hits" --

it's pretty clear that dance music is coming back around the world -- just check the recent big American hip-hop and R&B hits which are clear rip-offs of the european dance style.....
