I think that "making love" is mostly a euphemism.

If we're overlooking that, though...then yes, I think there's a difference. Making love is when you love the person you're having sex with, having sex is having sex, and crazy forceful sex is f**king.

Personally, I don't think you can have crazy, off-the-wall sex that's "making love." At least, I never have. And frankly, I don't want to have all that slow, sweet sex that "making love" is.

I believe that it's all just words really. The act itself is exactly the same, whatever you call it. Saying that there is a big difference in sex, it can feel very different depending on the relationship between the two people. 'Making Love' is a way of explaining the sex when it's coupled with strong passionate feelings which makes a huge impact. So in conclusion, yes there is a difference, sex is just sex 'making love' is sex with someone you love.

This is like comparing smokin' 40s and drinking blunts... Having sex is a thing you can do to with the majority and doesn't require many brain cells. Making love is something that requires a person you actually care about and have feelings for.
I'm a firm believer when having 100% trust in a person while having intercourse makes sex infinitely better, but; and hopefully there's a nice butt there.. The difference?? Having sex doesn't require any real emotions or deep feelings; it's ONLY about the pleasure of the act hence the sex/porn industry or the "friends with benefits" situation. It's been said already, and I'll have to agree with it. There's making love, which is a more special and intimate thing, where you're not just trying to get each other off, and then there's plain ol sex, which is also awesome, but much more of just a physical thing.

The phrase that annoys me is "sleeping with". For example: "Becky is sleeping with Mike". It annoys me because the phrase is misused so much. There's definitely a difference. However, I don't buy the idea that you have to love someone to "make love" with them. The term usually implies passion and affection that differs from more carnal experiences (e.g. the straight dude simply inserting his penis into a vagina). It's totally possible to have sex and make love with the same person, regardless of emotions involved. I also think those terms are subjective. Someone might not associate any level of kink with love making, while others might include a rather high level of BDSM in their love making affairs.

In short, there's a ****ing difference, but when you interchange the two often and regularly, it's ****ing fabulous.
