Mother****er I hate fast and the furious. That movie was so jank. So much wrong with it. Thing about mitsu's toyota's, nissans is they're mostly RWD, where honda is fwd, which was a shitload of understeer. I'm down with old 240s, though probably wouldn't drive one. I used to have a 92 Integra GS-R. Shit was cheap and fun to ride around town in. I can't really hate on it, but it was simple to work on.
Would say my favorite car is probably an FD or R34, though I do like the new R35s. I'm way into Subaru's though. WRX STI's are like ****ing legit. Are you into rally cars? Those things would be so ideal for never missing work/surviving a crash/driving away from zombies on the highway.
Booyah not quite matched in your ability to not form complete sentences or paragraphs, but I'm getting there.
And before anyone comes in here and says something about the "weak comment", YOUR shit is WEAK!
CAN YOU DIG ITTTTT?
How will it help weed anybody out, if nobody can see what anybody has chosen?
Besides, who would think that you'd want to pump water or oil into your cylinders?
Or who would know EFI but have no clue what a carb does, when it does the same thing in a different manner?

What the **** are talk talking about mixing fuel and water. Once water gets into the fuel, you're royally ****ed. I know it's just a poll option, but at least make your poll legit. lol. You men think you know about cars.
You should try planes.
The real question here is, do you like two stroke or four stroke?

JTurbine, rocket, V, or radial? I'm more interested in turboshaft, myself.
That really depends on what the engine is supposed to be powering. The real question here is, do you like two stroke or four stroke?
My best friend found recently a '87 Supra Turbo Sport, with the targa top ... just a shell, no powertrain, but he got it for $300 and it's rust-free, so it'll do. We just need to get rid of the ugly dark magenta, on the inside and out.

You spelled carburetor wrong... and they've been phased out for about 20 years in the States.

Ooh, a thread about cars. Pls everyone validate the size of my penis!
finally somebody who hasn't gone completely gaga
over the fast and the furious series
i mean come on first he blows up the the engine then he blows up the car
and it was a mitsu eclipse too (albeit a fwd)
and you sooooo can't make a ten second sports car with only a paltry $10.000!!!
and yes i'm into rally cars!!!
my favorite being the mitsubishi lancer evo 2-8
though subees are pretty tough
lol i know i just threw that in there for fun
seriously though water can do a lot of damage an an engine
one time i brought home a 7mgte moter (Toyota supra) when i teared it down
i found out that rust had eaten through half an inch of the piston chamber
5 hours and several cuts later i brought it back to the wrecking yard for a refund
i myself prefer four stroke tho i'm satisfied working with any moter
oh and we don't think we know
kindly stay on topic please
i envy you having a car that can perform just as well if not better then the Ferrari of its day
i admit sometimes you can spend too much money maintaining
a car tho the mr2 is a classic so for restoration purposes i can understand the logic behind it

needless to say, that part of your personality sux..lol
money aint a thang. i saved a shit load by switching to geico..

Carbs are old school but at least if something goes wrong you can pop the hood dive in with a couple of spanners (wrenches as you weird people call them) and usually have it fixed asap or at least have diagnosed the problem. Now EFI and all the modern electrical operating components are in it is a lot harder to repair.
But they do have programs to diagnose problems now hoping that they manufacturers of the programs have accounted for everything that could possible go wrong and in Murphy's law it isn't usually a straight forward diagnostic most things operate in chain reaction.
Yeah I like all the mod cons of modern cars but a Ford XY GTHO with a 351 windsor tickles my nerves hands down.
I don't like rice burners personally and I don't set out to know 100% about automobiles but living with a diesel and automotive mechanic for 20 years has rubbed off on me.
Contradictory to saying this^ Toyota is my choice of manufacturer, reliable moderately priced, long lasting, tough as guts and one of the top manufacturers to hold their value.
I have had my little 2.7 Toyota Hilux for 10 years and hope to have it for much longer with a bit of tlc, and I regularly service it, it will serve me well.
In all honesty I don't see why people set out to spend money modifying cars a car will never decrease in value (unless of course you have a one of a kind and there is someone silly enough to buy it off you). Save up for a deposit on a house or an apartment think smart people.

The finer details of a signature:
I was about to mention that. Carburetors are irrelevant. It's an old technology that sucked to begin with.
The car that I have, on the other hand, is awesome, because it was built in the early 1990's, when carburetors were still being phased out, and therefore doesn't have one. Instead, my car has an electronic fuel injection, which unlike carburetors, actually ****ing works.
Don't be scolding me for straying off topic. I was talking about his car. Being that this topic is about cars, I don't need to be told off. Alsoalso, I don't need to be reminded of the rules.
Why am I the only female talking about cars here? Come onnnnnnnnnn ladies!

whats the make and model
there aren't really as many female tuners as there are male
i'm not being trying to be a jerk or anything
but it's a fact women are less likely to want to get their hand's dirty doing something that they can just have their husband/spouse/neighbor/mechanic do for them
its not a bad way to live (except for the fact that i'm probably going to fall under one of the above)

I know a thing or two. Should I fool around with you guys just to prove it? OF COURSE!!! Unfortunately, I scowl at Toyota and its earlier chunky, sharp-edged engines, so I think I'll step into the shadows until you guys mention something I know more about. 3.0 liter engine, Dodge Caravan, to be specific. Such a pain getting to that second head. Just how did the manufacturers think normal people were going to manage a spark plug change all the way back there? ...Ignorant Buffoons...

Doesn't opening the hood void the warranty? [/girl]
interesting except for the fact that i plan on putting about 400-600 hp
on it being as how this moter has a reputation for being bulletproof
all platforms have their ups and downs
i chose this one because of its lightweight (the fact that i already swapped
in a fuel injected 22RE might have been a contributing factor)
if all goes according to plan it should cost about $30.000 total
dodge caravan???

Hey man. I came to your side in my first post. Tried to meet up with you, but this generalization shit about women and dudes being manly and knowing about cars is so stereotypical.
I know you're probably just sorta joking about it or whatever, but you make it sound like you have absolutely no idea about women. I tried to look up your profile, but I'm gonna guess you're...17?
Just keep with the cars thing dude and keep genders out of it. As a friend. Unless you wanna keep going and create a shitstorm, which is pretty much all a forum is good for these days anyway. Then carry on.
As a man, I would recommend googling for a car enthusiast forum where most of the members at least try to connect with you in that way.

i apologize i was merely making an observation
good guess only off by a couple years
i do visit those types of forums regularly
i created this thread because i wondered if there were any car nuts like me who also enjoy gaming in there free time
back to the thread
i'm currently planing to swap a 2jzgte into a 81 toyota pickup
only problems as far as i can see without actually having the moter in front of me are clearance and weight i'm probably going to have to get coil-over suspension to handle the increased weight
as far as the clearance goes if i switch to an electric fan i should be able to make it fit

Yeah, so whut? I didn't mean to suggest it was tune-able, I was just answering whats-her-name's challenge about there being no girls in here... *hitching up pants*.
I'm gonna guess che's... eleventy-one.
By the way, the serpentine belt on this Dodge has finally stopped squawking. Yay!Apparently one was not supposed to use belt conditioner on it. *whoops* Those Auto Shop fools think they can mislead girls with their pseudo directions, eh? Well, I shall have my revenge!

So 15. Close.
From my experience, at least 95% of people who refer to themselves as "automotive tuners" are, well, this.
Otherwise, they're just "mechanics". Now, there are mechanics that also know how to tune and tweak, but they're still mechanics -- and, if only because of all the little children out there that think they know what they're doing under a hood -- they refer to themselves as "mechanics" and not "tuners" at all.
So you're trying to swap the inline-four carbed 22R for a inline-six EFI twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE that's at least a full decade newer? On a truck that originally had less than 100 HP? You're going to have to swap and adjust a lot more than just clearance and weight.

When cars are made they are made to the best of their capablities. You see people wanting to put twin turbos in thier non-turbo cars and 'do them up' and whatever, but what they dont realise that by doing so you will put strain on pretty much everything in the car. When a naturally aspirated engine sucks air in, it can only draw so much in before the intake valve closes and seals the cylinder. You could knock your engine as well or "detonate" this is where the fuel ignites under pressure before the spark happens. This will cause a piston to move in the opposite direction if it has not reached the top dead centre and will have major consequences for the engine. To avoid detonation you have to lower the compression ratio of the engine and restrict the turbo to a low boost limit. You also have to change the computer programming as well to make all this shit known to it. Im so sick of people thinking they can put something in and expect it to work. Its like computers, you want a to run the witcher 2 so you get yourself the faster processor on the planet. Good on ya mayte.
keep guessing
i refer to myself as a tuner because
a. a mechanic repairs a car
b. a tuner improves a car
c. a guru does both
do the math
i am well aware that i will have to do some serious work to get it to fit
but that's the reason i was interested in cars to begin with
i mean increasing the horse power numbers. taking it to the track and showing off to your friends is fun and all but its the difficulty that drew me in in the first place
ecu's are a pain (and believe me i would know)
though you can usually find a good aftermarket product
the down side to that is that their usually very expensive
i'd take middle ground and make it myself
i know it would probably take me about a year or so to make it work but hey at least i could say i completed the entire car my self
